This is why she has kept her position as a prodigy throughout the years.. Face to Face she is as real as they get, in concert she moves you like no other, and fuckin'a the dislike button should be removed from this page..
I am damn sure this woman was a piano in her former life, she just doesn't seem to put any effort into her playing; it's as though she's possesed by the piano or the other way around. Truly amazing to watch and I've been a fan since early 1993 and her band are just as awe inspiring
This very performance is my favourite with this ong. Great variation, great "playing" with the voice (especially that 'out-of-the-blue' dip way down into her lowest register in the second chorus). Just fabulous!
I'm Black and Nirvana is my favorite band, Tori is one of my favorite female performers. I don't find it unusual that I prefer rock music. It stemmed from teenage angst and I just never grew out of it. I never understood the wu tang obsession. Long Islanders never appealed to me, Lol. But KoRn, Manson, NIN, Hole, Garbage,,, thats my 90's style.
@augustusrobertson :) Good for you!!! I feel very strongly that race shouldn't dictate what anyone does or listens to. :D I listen to anything and everything rap, R&B, music spanning the decades and centuries past, country, rock, metal, punk, ska, classical, electronic music, and music from ALL over the world and in MANY styles.
My friends were into her in the late 90s, she seemed interesting, but something held me back. A few years later I heard this for the first time and haven't been able to listen to it since without breaking down. Thank you so much for posting this.
Not to sound racist at all, but I'd honestly like to know....are there any other black women or black men for that matter who are into Tori Amos? I'm from Columbia South Carolina and I was one of a handful of black people who attended the Smashing Pumpkins concert a few years ago. I know some black people who can get down with Incubus or Nirvana, stuff like that, but I've never met any black people who enjoy the really eclectic stuff like Tori...bonus points if you love Wu Tang just as much.
Oh wow! It's one of my life goals to see Tori Amos in concert. I saw Smashing Pumpkins in concert two or three years ago and Wu Tang last year, so both of those got checked off the list, but I'm still waiting on Tori. I'm so jelly! LOL

I think this song had strong meaning to it to her at the time. You can tell by the energy she puts into it.

haha I have no idea. I call Tori Amos "angry white chick rock" so it's hard to say. I think love of Tori would be universal though, she is awesome?!

LOL...yeah my boyfriend hates all the "shrieking" and high notes. Speaking of angry white chick rock, do you like Paula Cole?

I'm one (I'm a dude)! Tori, Björk, PJ... and then can turn right around into Beyoncé, D'Angelo....

Wow, this is so different from how she normally performs the song. It's awesome to hear her playing with it.
