They can then go out to restaurants and stores to create jobs for waitress and sales clerks. Hold on. I may not have gotten my degree in fancy political bullshittery, but I do know one thing. In a market environment, products don't jut cost &150 and is all profit. Most of that money goes to cover cost of employees, materials, production and every other step of making that item. This example assumes that the cost of the item is pure profit. and it also assumes that most of the money will be pulled out of business to feed the poor. What happens when no products get made to be sold becasue of this?
Joe get it from the Government who takes it from me BUT I have to pay all the Government employees who sends the tax forms, calculate the benefits, distribute the benefits so that $100 costs me $300. Now I have $200 less that I could have spent to buy 2 bicycles and 2 TVs that could have created more jobs.

See, when Joe gets benefits, he gets it based on what he earned in the past. He more or less is getting government money HE ALREADY PAYED in taxes. When the government gives him back his taxes, he can spend that money on food. The local store he buys it from gets profit from that. The workers in that store won't get laid off. And they won't need to get their taxes back.
