  • wait!!!! You forgot your Camera!

  • diesel "smoke" is just soot it falls to the ground and biodegrades this truck in its entire life could never produce as much pollution that gas or even a Prius creates

  • Rev it up man, cat sound lovely when climb one hill and reevvv the thing up

  • 1:28....Built to haul logs, made to roll coal lol

    P.S. F**K you EPA

  • air filter filthy

  • environmentally says thank you

  • Old fashion polluting machineries nowadays

  • We have one of those e models with a crank broke right behind the flywheel its the dumbest thing ive ever seen there is no explanation for it at all and the dealer ship just said sorry it happenes sometimes

  • @mdeelsr14 That kind of failure is more than likely due to torsional vibrations/harmonics that persisted long enough to fatigue the metal. I would suggest doing a search of 3406e crankshaft failure, and see what comes up. You'll likely find others who have experienced the same kind of failure. Perhaps you'll be able to get an explanation as to why this happens.

  • one of the best engines CAT ever made! now they suck because of lame EPA.

  • @DanW900 now they don't make on-highway engine because of epa

  • Just stopping by to thank all you truckers for doing what you do. God bless and safe journeys!

  • Love that sounds. Like music to my hears.

  • like to know how your getting the extra fuel to that electronic motor lol

  • this made my morning coffee so much better

  • Hey man you forgot yer wagon, hope its not hangin from the trailer loader.

  • Nah... Scania R580 sounds way better and stronger.

  • @ecchibanzaii lol you know what they say scany for a fany. Been there done that got the t-shirt fed up of scanias and there reputation. Overpriced VW with awfull ofroad traction and too many young boys behind the wheel.

  • @ecchibanzaii Scania can suck a dick, cant beat a cat, or a cummins. cat 3406 and cummins KTA are the best diesel motors ever built, at least for trucks.

  • mate that sound f**king great. love it! love it! thanx for uploading a sweet sounding diesel truck ;-)

  • sounds nice!

  • The crankshaft breaks due to the use of bad engine oil, and not using original oil filters from Cat.....

  • only the 3406e with serial number prefix 5ek were bad cranks. the rest are by far above the b models. make more power to.

  • Sounds like my dog when he's snoring.

  • thats a beautiful unit, and im assuming staright pipes?

  • Hope You don`t mind the German speech baloons, but I got so sick of their Mercedes Actros bragging while crawling up hill with a 50 lbs LTL, so I uploaded a few things how we do things here

  • Yeah they should show us one thing that was not on the back of a truck!

  • Yeah real Disel!

  • the 3406e is the machanical wersion of the c15 if im not mistaken

  • ya thats y he had to replace parts in his truck that were putting out 16 thousand pounds and the parts couldnt handle it ik what im talking about and i will take a video of it and put it on here and i will tell ya when i do.

  • How did you get your truck to smoke like that? If i'm correct the 3406e is Electronic right?

  • What does the 3406e displace? I cant seem to find any specs.

  • I like the truck. Nice blue neon lights.

  • that is a beautiful truck...that cat motor kinda sounds like a cummins

  • @allispuller1952 Wow do you have some anger issues? they do have medication for that. But either way, Heavenly Father still loves you.

  • no wonder I cant breath and I have to go around with a 02 on! your killing me! And whats this going back and forth back and forth? Really I would like to know who you got to ride on the back end to film......."your sister".......hahahahah

Be sure to look at my user name.

  • I see that none of you have challenged my assertions. I continue: Each of you have been raised to believe that commerce is essential. Thus, you devote your lives to acquiring and hoarding. Your #1 aim is to provide for yourself and your family things you really don't need. Six years ago I sold all I owned and began to live my life as simply as I possibly could. I did this not to save any planet, nor to be cooler than my neighbors. I did it because I was sick of being a target. Now I am free ;)

  • @SnoozeButton57 funny, you say you sold all you owed to live as simply as you could, but you seem to have a computer & internet access. not so simple after all. you brag a lot for someone who claims you are not trying to one up the Joneses hippy style.

  • @SnoozeButton57 Free? really obviously you are using a computer to sred your free speech. and im assuming it is powerd by electricity or did you get Gilligan and Skipper to take turns powering it with their bike.Commerce not essential? ok listen Kazinski, we do not live in a sociaty where we trade beads for pottery any more.we (truckers )do not like the government anymore than you apperently do. we are not about destroying the enviroment either.my truck puts a roof over my familys head ,

  • @SnoozeButton57 yet you kept your computer good job dumbass

  • Gentlemen, stop your engines. You have enabled a society that is wholly unsustainable. woman buys a purse. She then needs a dress, shoes, hairpiece and new cellphone to match her new garb. So the old things she bought last week are sitting like single girls on shelves, never to be touched again until donated to Goodwill. Now tell me, when 500,000,000 Chinese and 280,000,000 women India and then 368,000,000 sisters in Africa opt to imitate her, what will you do then? Tell me can the earth go on?

  • @SnoozeButton57 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Where do you think all your food, and walmart goods, and lumber to build your house and things come from? You think it just hauls itself to the stores? And have you ever noticed how fricken huge this planet is??? There is PLENTY of air for me to pollute and still have enough for you to breath.

  • @dasani110 im guessin that was another tree hugger huh? ya i hear ppl say oh ur just another dumb truck driver. really? how do they think roads are built? and like u said ever fuckin store the products come on a truck. their polluting car? hmm hauled to the dealer on a truck? the computer they are typing on? wow another semi.. fuck the haters. we are a group of lifesavers the way i look at it. we watch our rig our trailer. jo blow next to us, john doe behind and jane doe in front.

  • @dasani110 and the black smoke that is coming out of your exhaust is pure elemental carbon that falls to the ground and actualy helps plants to grow! it is the seemingly clean gas engines that pollute the environment the most!

  • @dasani110... 90 of that so call air pollution is accually just soot from unburnt fuel. a diesel engine produce much less CO2 and Carbon monoxide emissions than gas engines, people just see the black cloud and assume bad but its really not.

  • @dasani110 Not to mention The truck is probably cleaner burnin then his daily driving econo car.

  • @dasani110 Haters are gonna hate man. They don't understand that a diesel can pump smoke all day long and they wouldn't come close to the pollution of their little prius on the highway.

    Diesel > Gas. Period

  • @dasani110 i cannot believe how much of a retard you are

  • @freafollingalianz Thank you so much!! That is the nicest thing anybody has said about me in weeks! I really appreciate it! :-)

  • @dasani110 my point exactly

  • @SnoozeButton57 this pollutes much less than your car does. the black smoke is just carbon, it falls back to the ground. i think whiny environmentalists on youtube need to be outlawed...

  • @SnoozeButton57 you are just retarted that dosent even deserve a response

  • @SnoozeButton57 Oh go fuck yourself! If it wasn't for those trucks you wouldn't have shit,if you have consumer products in your house which I'm sure you do,asshole A TRUCK DELIVERED IT!!!

  • @SnoozeButton57 pussy tree hugging faggots like yourself should be killed. no one needs your bullshit comments. if you dont like "large trucks" look at videos of a toyota prius not a 3406 cat. seriously though kill yourself. fuckers like you would go crazy if trucks like this didnt transport your bullshit vegan organic whole food. a hybrid toyota aint gonna haul 80,000 lbs of tofu around. go fuck yourself and your clean burning vehicle.

  • @SnoozeButton57 In addition to what was already said, YOU would be committing a felony just by breathing.

  • @SnoozeButton57 diesels dont pollute the smoke is pure carbon and it falls back to the ground

  • @SnoozeButton57 what a freaking tree hugger lol

  • @SnoozeButton57 Ide like to remind you that that truck burns cleaner than that gasoline car you drive to work everyday.

  • @SnoozeButton57 u wanker no worse than your fat family farting all year round they say cattle is the biggest cause of green house gases!

  • @SnoozeButton57 Idiot...without these massive american haulers we'd have no sources whatso ever. So stick that in your prius driving ass and smoke it. I'll make sure when i get my rig to squish you.

  • @SnoozeButton57 this comment you jst made should be a felony go fuck yourself you tree huggin hippy

  • very well done video!

  • a proper logging truck scania v8 sound search it and just listen to the sound its a blue scania 124 500 v8

  • @The143500 the scanias are coo too but i prfer macks petes and KWs

  • NICE VIDEO ;)

  • boring

  • really? black smoke? i hope you know thats just a waist of fuel... its not burning it all... guys like you will are the reason diesel is starting to be smoged...

  • Scania V8 sound own this fucking farting sound

  • Scania V8 sound own this fucking farting sound !

  • The very beginning remindes me of the opening scene of "Smokey and the bandit" Great sound and driving, dude! Hoping for even more, if you still got the truck! :D

  • my dads got a international, isx cummings 600hp and it makes this truck look like a bitch. my dads is putting out about 20 thousand pounds of foot touque

  • @annabellelover22 ha, id love to see proof of that...

  • @annabellelover22 wow u realy know your stuff teach me more please

  • @annabellelover22 ur an idiot

  • @annabellelover22 yeah thats just not possible......2 thousand maybe (doubt it) but not 20,000 in a truck

  • Must have been 53 polarbears accidentally watch this......and got their panties in a bunch.....

  • @amusichound grandpa put i set of straight pipes on his pete with a 3406c one of the best sounding engeins ever

  • whats the difference between a 3406 motor and a c-15?

  • @burkey426 Acert technology...3406E was the last model for the 3406...then came the C series engines. I drive a 3406B myself and I LOVE it

  • Like the whistle of the turbo

  • WHERE DID U GET THE SENCER TO GET HER TO BURN COAL

  • the old 1673 cat. 400hp i think, was a damn good engine. i believe it came from the d6 bulldozer but im not sure.. put a million miles on one with now problems.. one set of bearings. damn it was fun to drive

  • gatta love the CATAPILLAR MOTOR

  • thats to bad you sold that truck that was a good lookin truck but hopefully you have better luck with the kw

  • Black smoke = Runnning rich?

  • thanks for the info, what do you haul?

  • what is the difference between 3406e and 3406b engines? And if you could tell me any other variations and whats the best?

  • @burkey426 There was the 3406A, the 3406B, the 3406C and the 3406E. I am unaware of there being a 3406D. But the 3406A, B, and C engines were mechanical. I am not that familiar with the C model, but yeah, pretty sure it had no computer. The E model is electronic. It has a computer, and electronic injectors, and sensors all over it. The 3406B is in my opinion the best one of em all. Very popular, easy to work on and very reliable.

  • @dasani110 so what was that device called

  • @dasani110 the 3406A was a PC engine

  • @dasani110 yep the 3406e is all electronic

dads said hes putting a 3406b in the w900l if anything big goes on the e block

  • @dasani110 The 3406C had a few changes, Larger main bearings and were mainly all ATAAC, in the early 90s Emissions and electronics were hitting heavy, Cat introduced the EUI Electronic Unit Injector 3176 in 1988 with an ecm the size of a Breifcase, The 3406C although Mechaical in its last couple years recieved PEEC Pre Electronic Engine Controls which was a removal of the mechanical governer and recieved basically a pwm solenoid to control the pump

  • @dasani110 The 3406E again basically same Crank 5.4" bore 6.5" stroke early same block as the C with a different cylinder head with a cam in head design and introduction of the 3406 to EUI hence 3406E, The E is a wonderful engine i wish they would have used EUI for many other engines and TRASHED HEUI used on the 3126 3408E 3412E and 3416E which became (C7 3126, 3408 obsolete, C27 and C32) Later versions of the 3406E went to a serpantine block which removed the un used cam pocket in the block

  • @dasani110 The 3406E then became the C15.. same exact engine of course different serial numbers, injectors ecms, pistons programs etc.. The C16 is a bored and stroked version as well as the C18, the C16 was an on highway engine rated to 600hp (before the compounding turbo 625hp C15) and the C18 which replaced the 3408 in the D9R and D9T as well as the 988G and H im gettin rusty i dont remember hp numbers on these engines... but there you go I run a 600hp 3406BATAAC in my 79 and love it..

  • @dasani110 Of course if its yellow its expensive but they all have their ups and downs the 3406B is legendary but the jake is dissappointing.. the C15 has IVA Intake Valve Actuation so you can change the timing for your jake and they are AMAZING to drive they hold back almost as good as the ol cummins K19 which is saying something considering those are 6.25bore and 6.25 stroke ground pounding monsters.. Theres a Cat On highway engine history for anyone bored enough to read it lol

  • @dasani110 Im not a CAT fan, but Im with you, the 3406B is a good engine. The problem with the new ecu computer controlled engines is if you break down, you gotta call the man to come plug it in to see whats wrong, or just tow it. The mechanical style you can usualy figure out whats wrong on the road and get'r home. Unless something major is wrong. As long as a mechanical diesel is getting fuel, air, and has compression it'll run.

  • @cobra96svt570 This is why environmentalist legislators need to be picked off, one by one. That is, after they're all grouped together and forced to pull the truck with chains and their bare hands to its original destination.

  • @burkey426 the 3406E, is a really good engine as well, but because it has a computer and electronics all over it, there are just so many things that can go wrong. And for some reason, they are notorious for breaking crank shafts. I know a few people who's 3406E's crank shafts have actually broken. And there is no explanation for it. And the 3406E typically costs $20,000 to have rebuilt which is one reason I went back to the 3406B.

  • @dasani110 the 3406e is a very good engine, in my opinion it is a better enigine than all previous model 3406's because it had "electronics". all the sensors it has allows the ecu to give you good information in the form of gauges, it also produces more power because of the accurate fuel injection of the electronicly controlled injectors. the only thing i can say for the crank breaking would that the bearing saddles on the crank were worn and allowed the crank to walk.

  • @dasani110

Broken crank = Harmonic Balancer problems. cat engines will break shafts because of improperly torqued bolts on the balancer, and some times the bolt heads shear right off for no apparent reason.

  • @dasani110 i was driving a 96 t-600 with a 3406e that was having power loss issues on long pulls up hill ,ie: when it got warm.i sat for 2 days with that truck on and off the dyno trying to replicate what it was doing...finally turned out to be a wire buried in the harness trunk leading to the ecm that was shorting out and kiling the motor.lol couldnt beleive it.changed out the whole harness and never had another problem.

  • @dasani110 The 3406Cs were hopeless, Caterpillar in Australia had a by-back scheme where you could get into a 3406E for $20,000. Like you say, the 3406B is the best but you must do a bearing roll about every 300,000 miles or you could do a big end. Oil sampling should give you plenty of warning though. Too much electronics on the E for my liking, and as for the ACERTs.....anyway, I'll stick with my 3408 :)

  • @dasani110 Got a question for you. Now you have 8 in. stacks on that one, what about putting 4(yes, you read correctly!) 6 in. stacks on one of those? I think it would sound wickedly awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • @burkey426 All 3406s use the same 5.4" bore and 6.5" stroke shared also by its predecessor the 1693, the 3406A used the "current scroll" injection pump and the early models were in fact PC pre combustion, later A's were DI, The 3406B went to New Scroll injection pumps which is a beefed up version bigger pump cam barrels plungers etc and of course higher pressures, the best way to tell an A model is a 6" or so spacer between the front case and the injection pump.

  • @JLDees79KW The injection pump is also smaller on the A's little more history the 1693 was a PC DOHC engine, the 3406 went to a cam in block design to accomodate for a "jake" brake which was impossible at the time for the 1693, The B model was both Jacket Water Aftercooled JWAC and ATAAC for on highway applications 400 and 425hp, I am a certified Cat Mechanic and now an Instructor in mongolia, The B model i have seen ranging from 300hp in D8N and Ls to a whopping 738HP in 836 Trash compactors

  • love this sound soo much :D

  • ohh yyes this sound :) love it

  • Very, Very Nice!!! Absolutely love the sound of a diesel truck running!!!!!

  • That black smoke is bad for the environment but that's why there are trees =)

  • Has an 4 stroke or 2 stroke engine this truck?

Here in Europe often are used only 4 stroke turbo engines for his force economy and for is silent.

  • fucking american trucks....oil mans..... oil. big engine, low horsepower..

  • @lujohu low horsepower? let's hook it up to your honda and see what happens. You just remember--America invented the motor vehicle as we know it. We are and always will be ahead of the rest of the world. Don't forget it.

  • @midarms1 Umm...yeah, you keep telling yourself that, genius....

  • @lujohu Aaahhhh youtube! Another great american invention.... you gonna bitch about this one too? I suggest you delete our account and goeth intercourse thyself.

  • @lujohu dick puller

  • Environmentalists will be pissed.

  • is there an exhaust brake on it?

  • how many horse power he havs ?? thanx

  • @LuciXeneise 550

  • are you starting in high gears or low? cuz you took off fast in the beginning.

  • cat sucks i like detroit better

  • lush

  • i can listen to this sound for hours :D nice truck dude

  • God! just that sound makes me want to drive!

  • ...hell yea.

  • All I can think about is spelbergs film, Duel !

  • We have 2 Petes with Cat motors in them one 3406b and the other a 3406e both have been excellent. The only 2 motors we will own in a truck.

Both average about 7mpg burn clean and the b has almost 2million miles on the injection pump.

  • the old trucks are way better than the new ones we work with guys who have new ones they are always fucking up cat 3406b are the best motors ever made

  • actuly we have found in europe that the new trucks and cars burn diesel so well that the paticles is very fine, and those come more far out in the lung tissue than the big of old diesels like my lovely deutz tractor :) who get caught in he nose.. hurra for new tech :)

  • That is very interesting. I would love to see some study results proving that. I am always happy to find out that the crap the government tries pushing on us ends up coming back and biting them later on down the road. Sadly at the expense of peoples lungs if that is the case here. I could totally see that being the case though. I've been against these new clean burning diesels ever since they started coming out and being pushed on us whether we want them or not. They just aren't the same.

  • @dasani110 yeah i cant stand these ECO trucks there just shit

  • is the black smoke unburnt diesel or what is it?

  • Pretty much, yeah. On this truck I had a little electronic device that would trick the engine into feeding itself more fuel when there wasn't enough turbo boost yet to feed it the proportional amount of air that it needed. So the result was lots of black smoke. But I only had it on there for a short time, and for making this video, because it was making way too much smoke and getting embarassing completely smoking out the people behind me.

  • i would like to know how u did that seeing as how the b model pump is a completly mechanical new scroll injection pump

  • @dasani110 badass truck

  • @dasani110 embarassed? it would be a honor to have that truck smoke me out!

  • @dasani110 was that a smoker chip?

  • @dasani110 A friend of my dads truck is a 2001 KW W900B with a KTA-600 (Or 800 for this matter) and some guy in a log truck said on the CB said the truck needed a tune up, it was blowing black. So when he got on the hill, he mashed on it and you couldn't see anything behind you. He showed him what a tune up was on a cummins

  • @dasani110 lol thats not an embarassment thats bad ass rollin cole is amazing

  • @dasani110

you should be proud to smoke people out! yahooo!!

  • @TigerDude84 yeah thats exactly what it is

  • mucho humo negro

  • IF THE SMOKE AINT BLACK TAKE IT BACK 10/4!!!! Nice truck cool vid i like the end to. peace bigweelz379.

  • someone called you dumb? i just don't believe that for a minute

  • i like the end :)

  • ha, take that you environmentalist fucks.

  • @dggfhdfghdf lol we need more people who dont give a flying fuck abt the enviornment in the world then we wouldnt have toyota or any other foreign vehicles and every one would buy american lol u cant spell environmentalist without mental i just thought of that

  • ha, Ive been using that saying for a while,

in fact, I used to write "eviromentals" but some smart ass libtard said I was dumb cuz I spelled it wrong. so I stopped typing it like that. I guess I pussed out.

    Im with ya brother!!!

  • @dggfhdfghdf haha i almost pissed myself laughing over the libtard thing. We should just keep saying that until some more people understand us

  • @dggfhdfghdf Amen!

  • @dggfhdfghdf seriously? is that comment really necessary?

  • What size transmision.

  • niceblack stacking.... how much is it turned up? lol

  • rußfilter? nein danke^^

  • wow look all that smoke at 1:30
