  • mindless drones dislike it

  • I guess only fools dislike this...

  • pezzo incredibile

  • amazing

  • this is not very emotionally demanding, or any other kind of demanding. it's about as easily taken as the womb is to the fetus.

  • Me diminuer physiquement, intellectuellement, émotionellement pour me présenter ensuite à toi...celà en dit long sur vos méthodes et sur vous.

  • anyone who says this is simple did not listen to the whole song. Its a journey

  • aqua de Gio: Giorgio Armani

  • Repetitive and simple are two different things. I think you are thinking more of cheap or corny. That's what I hear in really bad house music. Repetitive is good when it's like what Oval is doing here because it is really hypnotic. Simple is also applied in the sounds he is choosing but I would never call this sound cheap or dumb. A song can be "simple" in melody but it all comes down to the actual sound that is being made.

  • german artists actually created idm .. later english artists started to copy it...

  • Good stuff and made in Germany.

  • Aqua di Gio - by Giorgio Armani

  • what about "idiotic dance music"? and yes i guess the guy/s who first used the term intelligent dance music thouht, that house and techno were dumb. and they were right. techno fans themselves say, that their music is dumb but doesnt really need any complex structures or melodies. music is aesthetic, and somone who refers to intelligence when talking about music... well, you probably know what i want to say.

  • @LifevsMusic How are techno and house dumb. I'm not into either of them but that is just one of the dumbest remarks I ever heard about music. A true fan of whatever music they like will never call anything they listen to dumb unless it is in fact comedic music.

  • @squezey1 techno and house are dumb in 3 ways: simple rhythms, simple harmonics, simple melody. its all about the sound. i guess thats why some people happen to call such music dumb.

  • @LifevsMusic Simple doesn't mean it's dumb in any way. What kind of stupid logic is that?

  • @squezey1 i didnt say, that it simple means dumb. im just saying, that some people describe the simpleness as dumb.

  • @LifevsMusic if you dislike an entire genre of music you probably dont fully understand it. You clearly haven't been exposed to the kinds of techno and house that suit your tastes, they are both extremely varied genre's.

  • @graveey i never said that i disliked techno and house. i actually anjoy minimal really often. ;)

  • @LifevsMusic fair enuff man, sorry for the assumption :)

  • I don't know how people can subscribe to the utterly pretentious idea of "intelligent" dance music. Does that mean everything else is stupid? Come on...

  • i get the feeling that whatever methods they're using to make their rhythms make rhythmic precision and accuracy very difficult

  • I love reading to this music.

  • 太好了!

  • This is something else...I think Oval is the next group i get into...BOC, Aphex, Autechre, Ulrich Schnauss, and now this!

  • Yes, it gives my soul many abrasions as time goes by.

  • Yes, it gives my soul many abrasions as time goes by.

  • i like the part when it goes "click click click underwater ambient explosion"

  • So strange to think that some advertising executives for armani picked this song to be in their commercial. Love everything by Markus Popp.

  • armani nothingness. Markus is Univerce.

  • mesmerising...

  • aqua di gio....giorgio armani

  • so gorgeous

  • Blew my load... Mind! I mean mind..

  • Hey man, this is not from the album Ovalprocess, it's from the album "Systemisch". Maybe you already know that, but you should change it in the description. Beautiful track although!

  • i've searching this song for years since i heard it in the armani's ad... i finally thought it was a waste of time. thanks!

  • man i suck i would like to get into this kind of style of electronic, but im more of a dark psyTrance guy :(

  • Aqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani

  • well , i have no idea what the vedio was about .. oval>)

  • lovely. abstract and familiar. Listen closely... the Beat!

  • WOW! the Acqua di Gio commercial song! So awesome!

  • Gives off some weird vibes, very interesting.

  • This one is actually from the album Systemisch, released in 1994. Excellent piece of ambient electronica, never aged a single second. :)

  • Absolutely right - amazingly far ahead of its time, this.

  • sweeet!

  • wooooooooooo

  • Does anyone know who did the video-graphics? Did Marcus Pop do his own? Seems like he would be capable.

I saw him live once, his sound is so much more deep, live... but few appreciated it at the time. I certainly appreciated it. Still holds up after all these years.

  • go fuckyourself tobybradley you have no taste in music you probably listen to barbie girl go suck your grannys penis

  • hahaha

  • Every repetition is something different, a whole new version of the same thing, an unusual way of listening, a subtle variation of a theme. Peace.

  • Fantastic Playlist!

  • what is popp doing these days? any new records?

  • suposedly he signed a deal with... was it sony... to make video game sounds? or something like that, so he cant' release music under his name? i don't know if that's true.

    but yeah, WHERE IS HE?!?!

  • mántrico

  • this is not chill out at all. this is intense, emotional music that involves the subconcious and really intelligent rithmic structures. a masterpiece from one of the best musicians of the 90s

  • @0916hafs full agree bud, it is masterpiece, it is also 16 years old theme so for 1994 it was really music from future

  • @0916hafs

That's why IDM can not be described easily

  • @dbbification

    Exactly.

    IDM is music for Anima..

  • @dbbification It can't be described at all because the genre doesn't exist, it's completely subjective anyone can see anything as intelligent.

  • incroyable...

  • wow. classic ChillOut. Still going up :D

  • haha klasyka!!!

  • Not this new ad, but the old one (1999 ish). Sorry, very vague.

  • I heard this in 1999, and recorded it on my minidisc, all 5 seconds of it from the Aqua Di Gio ad.

My question is, it sounded slightly different and had different bits in it, on the ad.

    Is there a different version?

    Please help.

  • Im wondering the exact same thing... anyone?

  • me too (2:10)

  • This came out in 1995, long before that ad. The ad was actually a "mix" of two Oval tracks (from two different lps I believe) and was of course edited massively to conform to time restrictions for the ad. If you enjoy this music, I highly recommend Oval's first couple of releases especially. His later works differ some from those two.

  • amzing

  • trascendental

  • Like lucid-dreaming to be over a cloud pink and consciously moving it to your favourite places. We all have these sounds inside.

  • yeah, textuell is a great song. i've even known it before the commercial came out and asked my local record store owner for it. he didn't know it and he also couldn't find it on his pc. now after all those years i finally hear and see it again. ...but you must have drug experience to enjoy it!

  • this song could be on ecco the dolphin's soundtrack on sega megadrive !! awesome

  • im in love with this song since the 1st time i herd it years back i would stalk it if i could haha xD

  • Join the club :)

  • I'm afraid I'll have to ask....?

  • I was in love with this track (I'd heard in the Armani spot) even before finfing out it was by oval. Serious stuff. Well.. maybe the whole track is a bit of a drag:-)

  • this track its just....close your eyes and feel it

  • voteforgoat: your mum is boring

  • Probably rings your bells as background to an Armani perfume ad (Acqua di Gio). Did you know they purposedly scratched CDs to make their music?

  • Great album (Systemisch) made with only other albums of other artists.

  • it's the first track from "systemisch", released on mille plateaux, 1994 / thrill jockey, 1996

  • but this song isn't from ovalprocess

  • it is from systemisch I think

  • Oval music is unlike anything I have ever heard before. At one front it's this aweful music that jsut a bunch of beeps and clicks, yet at another front it's this hypnotising music. Very addicitng and it really is something to behold and love.

  • Obra maestra. Su mejor disco es diskont94
