  • Snakes scare the piss out of me!

  • ive seen a few of these in California Tracy. The western Diamondback and wow do they make that noise in the bushes. I ride dirt bikes over there so thats a common occurrence, I do not mess with them I ride on trails and do not make my own trails to hurt them. Thank god for thick boots just encase :)

  • That is kind cool snake and gorgeous! Crikey awesome video!

  • Now there are some chevrons no amateur should try to engage.

  • Whats that snake right in the beggining 0:10 that other one, darker one

  • Nice work . Excellent find

  • @samhobson30 Thanks man! I was super excited that day!

  • I get an anxiety attack watching this video!!

  • @Gman6755 Why?

  • @xxxHERPERxxx I just hate snakes and I am repulsed by them. I know you herpers think that is crazy but that is how it is with me.

  • I have observed a great deal of regional variance in the striping and patterns of timber rattlers. In the North Alabama mountains the dorsal stripe is lighter-almost yellow.

  • @worshipnaked Interesting observation! They are pretty variable snakes though even in my area

  • i have to say u have some huge balls to do that but u should quit saying as i was walking their haha.

  • I came across one of these in the TN Smokies, and I was pretty close before I saw it. He didn't become agitated until I prodded him to move out of my way. Not aggressive like the eastern rattler. Good video, brother.

  • i thought herpes adventure sorry dude,]

  • @slumster81 Lets go catch some herpes

  • eastern North Carolina is a great place to herp.

  • @criminaltrap74 You aint kiddin

  • I can see why it's on America's true flag. ...Beautiful.

  • @libertarianjury It was on the flag of the American Revolution, but our true flag represents heritage and unity, not our tendency to be venomous snarkers with personal bubble issues. It's an amazing animal, but it by no means represents all that America is.

Besides, I prefer red, white and blue to yellow and black. :)

  • @libertarianjury Tell me about it! Eagles are found in other countries other than our own. The Timber Rattlesnake is a true native!

  • Most people woulda ran screaming like a lil girl.not only do you have good loooks your preety brave too.

  • @KatieKat1432 Thank you!

  • Good work Brandon. I've got some Timber vids posted also. We have

Ttimbers up here(MN,WI,IA) associated with the Mississippi River and tributaries. WI still has a fair number of Massasauga Rattlesnakes. I need to vid some of those. Keep on herpin. I'm really not a doctor.

  • nice, the timber rattler is my fave snake. It would be awesome if snakes could know how much we respect and adore them.

  • wow you r crazy

  • Is that a spine on the ground at 3:57?

  • um your crazy but this is some awesome stuff lol

  • Brandon you are the man.How long i wonder has this guy been doing this?

  • Where I live there's only Timber rattlesnake's, They're not "Common", Or "Uncommon". Once I was walking in the woods, And stumbled into one. It gave me a warning though and rattled.

  • Jarostone fuck you y would you kill this beautiful specimen of rattlesnake

  • @reddawg1991

Fuck that shit. 12 gauge, done son.

  • @paintman557 HELL YEA!!!.... thats exactly what i was thinking bud!!!! my 12 gauge moseburg pump!! would be geting some use the day i ran across that bitch!!!!

  • @reddawg1991 Cuz it want to kill him first.

  • Oh my god this is where I shoot it with a cheap .22 round and leave.

  • @jarostone Why would you do that in it's own natural environment? Maybe if it was in your yard, I could understand, not in the forest away from homes?

  • brave ass.. jus layn next to it.. lol

  • I've heard of cane break rattlers. Is it true that they can grow to enormous size like the size of a boa or a small python or is that just a legend? Nice videos!

  • That is a damn beautiful snake

  • i like your videos. you're very brave to get so close!

  • i love snakes. god bless them

  • Brandon, I just showed this video to my wife. She wants your phone number so she can call your mother. LOL

  • @MBJB07 My mom actually supports my interests. After all it's given me a future career as a wildlife biologist.

  • Brandon, it's really cool that you have a hobby you enjoy so much. And you're obviously well educated on the snakes you catch, and that just shows you're level of seriousness.... Just please be careful little bro.

  • that was really retarded when you laid down that close to it

  • @okibum18 No I had plenty of clearance, and I can read their body language, so I would never have put myself to close

  • @xxxHERPERxxx yeah I can understand that, and I don't mean to come off like an asshole like some people on the internet do, but I think that delicate situations should be handled a little more carefully, because no matter how much you know about animals, they are still animals, which means they can go from docile to vicious in like .2 seconds lol

  • Where did you get the pole your using..cant remember what there called..I am interested in getting one...I've been studying snakes for a long time...If you can help, thanks.

  • How old are you?!?! I'd be scared shitless if i were that close..

  • i was bitten by a baby canebreak i was the first thing it ever bite .near amputation the doctors had to cut me open wrist to elbow and wrist to armpit i cant begin to tell you how painful it was.i could be wrong but relocating them from there range is not always good but habitat destruction is getting to be a very bad problem if that is what you did beautiful snake man not trying to accuse or anything been dealing with canes for years somtimes its relocate or property owner will kill what to do

  • @HardmanChris Damn dude I feel for you! I could not imagine the pain! Even if I received a bite, I could never say these animals are beautiful!

  • rattler= dead in south texas

  • @MidgetDances Because of ignorance

  • @ColubridCreationsTV no cause of self defence and defending familys

  • @MidgetDances Not really. A rattler out in the middle of no where isn't going to harm someone. Unless someone isn't being smart. I understand why people do it when they find them in there neighborhood. And torturing them doesn't protect families in any scenario.

  • @ColubridCreationsTV a gun doesnt torture shit it kills it quick and usually when we kill em either we eat em or give em to someone else n they eat em so they dont go to waste

  • @MidgetDances No that is a lie, I've seen carcasses of dead snakes without skins before in the woods. It's aweful, just left to rot for a trophy

  • @xxxHERPERxxx well i dont ever leave there i aways either eat em my self leave the whole body for other animals or give it to someone who wants it

  • Amazing camouflage! Great looking animal, thanks for posting.

    Matt(UK)

  • MY MOST FAVORITE SNAKE!!! B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!!!

look at the little steve irwin!

  • i find Timber Rattlesnakes around here a lot. here along the Pee Dee River and the Uhwarrie Mountains we also have quite a few Eastern Diamondbacks. i've seen a couple of them that honestly had to be close to 8 feet in length! i had a friend kill one in his backyard that was over 6 feet long. He had the skin mounted but for whatever reason he left the mount outside under his garage and the skin rotted away.

  • I like your videos, man....Kind of Steve Irwin like...in the good information you give and the fact that you don't really agitate them too badly and let them be on their way. Steve Irwin completely changed my views on animals...especially snakes..they serve a great purpose...kudos to you for understanding this and bringing valuable education to future generations.

  • @Linester25 Steve Irwin was my hero!

  • i live in nc near the dismal swamp always in the woods ,,, no one dose vids on are snakes great information thanks

  • What you do is incredible man. Where did you learn to handle?

  • @narooko In a wilderness survival camp for troubled youth. I always liked them but really got into research and catching techniques in camp.

  • these are the coolest looking rattlesnakes in my opinion . there common here in ky to i just want to ask do you have someone with you while your searching

  • it stops when u said kill me

  • @fishsallyear The video was cut at that moment so it skipped a little

  • gorgeous colleration

  • Holy crap! When you panned the camera over to the snake, i saw the lower body but i did not see to head haha. I would have been done for for sure! Nice find!

  • Good videos!

  • I live in South Louisiana, been here all my life for 26 years. Saw 1 last year, it got away. Brother killed 1 yesterday evening at 7:50 pm. 8 rattlers and a button. WHERE DO THESE SNAKES LIKE TO HIBERNATE? I WISH SOMEBODY WOULD COME DOWN HERE AND DO SOME STUDIES. MORE AND MORE ARE BEING SEEN EVERY YEAR HERE, BUT JUST IN A "SMALL" AREA AND I WOULD SURE LIKE TO FIND OUT WHY. IS THERE ANYONE I CAN CONTACT WHO WOULD BE WILLING TO COME DOWN HERE FOR A "RATTLESNAKE ROUNDUP" AND DO SOME RESEARCH??

  • @231MasseyFerguson Chances are, these Rattlers were there long before you or anyone else was. They are excellent at staying hidden from view and are very elusive. Why would you speak of negativity such as a Rattlesnake round-up? They are nothing but horrific.

  • @Lepisosteid Negativity?? Where I live, we kill venomous snakes. Rattlesnakes, Cottonmouths, and Copperheads. Those are the ONLY snakes that I personally do not like because their bite could be deadly. Alot of folks around here kill ANY snake they see. I'm not like that and dis agree with it. Heck, I even have a Speckled King Snake and a "Black Runner" (what we call) living in my tractor shed. I don't dare mess with them because they'll keep rats from eating up the wiring harness on the tractor.

  • @231MasseyFerguson Yes!! Negativity!! Do you not realize for every snake you kill that is making the diseased rodent population increase and that Rattlers, Cottons, and Copperheads are just like any other snake. The only difference is, they have a more Efficient method of subduing their prey which happens to be the venom you guys are afraid of. They aren't blood thirsty manics that chase you...

  • @Lepisosteid As for the "Rattlesnake Roundup", what I mean by that is if somebody wants to come and see if we can find these snakes and see why they're only in the location that they're SEEN in, then that person can take the live snakes back with them and re-locate them far away from here . There's not a problem with that. BUT, If I keep the snakes they won't live long. We can't stand them around here.

  • @231MasseyFerguson Learn about them instead of hate them.

  • @Lepisosteid I see stupidy and ignorance

  • wow. really pretty snake. ive seen a few of your videos and had no idea there were that many types of snakes in the carolinas. ive been handling snakes all my life but im only 14 but u have some nice vids. keep em comin

  • I'm sorry to say no offence, but it looks sorta like these are somewhat you're snakes.

  • you know alot about snakes but you got the age wrong on the snake thats a full grown female you cant tell how old they are by their tail

  • badass vid.....i love studying snakes.....the only rattlers that r in washington r the prairie(western) rattlers n they r awesome 2 find thats cool man keep the vids up

  • "aww the sweet wittle snake"....yea and all I wanna do is eat sleep and reproduce too....so when I come across one im going to kill it

  • this is awesome. I was just in North carolina and keeping my eyes peeled for a cotton mouth in manteo.

  • I used to find some really sweet Canbrake X Timber Rattlesnakes in North Carolina. Nice specimen!

  • I hope you don't do this by yourself, pleae always take someone with you just in case you happoen to get bit!

  • A beauty, for real.

Thanks for not having to touch them. They deserve our understanding, respect and admiration, not our creepy paws all over them.

    Beware anthropomorphic attitudes, friend.

  • he says its a huge risk 2 touch em thats why i let my shotgun do the touching

  • super !! really nice job , did you never get bite ?

  • when u stated compimenting her eyes she stopped ratteling ahaa well good find!

  • insted of letting it bite your bag jut take a lighter and heat up (not to long) part of your snake snatcher. the snake will pick it up in seconds with it's pit glands and strike! it really works i have tried it!

  • Just want to say you are brave keep it up!!

  • Beautiful snake.

  • great videos! you're really smart with these snakes!

  • u do good work - more education about respecting these lil'soulmates is needed, thank you

  • dude your nuts man lol

  • I love these videos. It's always nice to see someone who has an appreciation for snakes. Snakes are one of god's most awesome creations.

  • have u been to california. those southern pacifics are awesome. now i just live next to northern pacifics

  • are u sure is in ure path cause u always say that but kul

  • That's a cool looking viper.

  • We have timbers in pa but they are not colorfull like the one you are showing.

  • @derail14 we have diamond backs red diamond backs sidewinders tiger and many others in az

  • Love your page, man. I'm headed to Thailand in 6 weeks to see what I can find...hoping to catch a cobra. Again, great page!

  • thats cool man. C. horridus is a very gorgeous snake... damn i become jealous that we havent it here ;-)

  • Hi,

We think it was very informative clip, thank you.

  • Nice!

  • Thanks Kev

  • me and my operation purple instructor found a baby timber rattleler.

  • Nice

  • Gorgeous snake! She blends in beautifully with the background. Nature is amazing.

  • Indeed nature is.

  • @heart4herps yeah its amazing until God forbid she sinks those deadly fangs into you. then the only amazing thing then would be to survive.

  • i have something to ask you when the best time to look for a garden snake because i been wanting one and cant find one

  • Spring

  • very beautiful. i've never seen one. i don't think we have those here in Dallas, TX. she blends in well with pine needles.

  • Indeed, I dont think you guys have them ether. But Texas is one of my fav states. There are so many varieties of herps.

  • we find snakes all the time on my 4 acres. the best was a bright green grass snake. it had a faint irredescent blue line down the sides. my son wanted to keep her so bad! but i made him put it back.

  • wow I wish I lived where you do

  • Unreal my friend. That is such a badass rattlesnake. I can't believe how well you've been doing this year. I don't think anyone in the whole country has done as well as you this year. Sick snake - sick vid

  • Wow thanks alot man! They definatly are a cool species. You know what species I want the most? A Black tailed Rattlesnake, I've been wanting to see one in the wild since the first time I heard about them.

I really think I am learning more about the habits of species which is how I managed to find more than last year.

  • thats a good sized one! Taking a hit from one like that would seriously suck.

  • yep theyre good eating too...

  • lucky i only get to catch rubers and hellreis

  • Well I consider you lucky to, I wish I could find both of those.

  • With the thick, non-tapered tail, I would say that it's a male. Gorgeous snake though. Ours here in Oklahoma aren't quite that vivid. Great job man.

  • Could be? I never really looked to closey, but seeing how it was out in the heat like that I was thinking gravid female. That's my opinion though. That cool they range all the way out into Oklahoma!

  • Amazing looking snake!

  • Thanks alot Tyler.

  • Good job with the narration. Looks like you were alone out there. I like your non-threatening approach, though i wouldn't recommend any inexperienced onlookers to get as close as you did. Pretty cool.

  • Thanks man, there was no reason to mess with her, especially since she was gravid. I put her in the container to move her off in the woods a ways so she wouldnt wonder into someones back yard and get killed.

  • BRANDON LOOK OUT THERE IS A RATTLESNAKE IN FRONT OF U, haha

  • OH SHIT!! Let me kill it! Na

  • dude, your amazing at what you do. looks like so much fun man, but my opinion which youve prolly heard befroe is you should have someone with you in case you do get bit, or have a phone. it would suck to not be able to see your vids anymore home boy lol

  • Haha thanks my man. I know but really I wont have anyone until I move out next year.

  • is the canebrake and the timber rattler the same snake

  • Basically, the Canebrake is sometimes considered a seperate subspecies (Crotalus horridus atricaudatus). The venom differs from Timbers as well, it has more neurotoxins. Basically the Canebrake is the southern phase of the timber. Although some people would disagree.

  • yes the timber is a little more poisonus

  • dude how do u handel snakes

  • Having three balls

  • i h8 ppl who kill herps how wood they feel being killed for livin life

  • I know right? People are naturally self centered. So in turn they believe they rain supreme and can destroy everything.

  • i gotta go with u herping

  • Be my guest.

  • WHAT A bueatuifull snake! my best catch was a 2 foot eastern hognose or a 4 foot black mexican kingsnake

  • I would have JIZZED in my pants if I saw that. i've been hoping to catch a rattesnake for about 4 years. I have caught dozens of Agkistrodons, and hundreds of colubrids, but not crotalus, or micrurus, not YET at least. They don't live near Baton Rouge louisiana, but when I start driving, my parents won't be able to stop me from catching rattlers.

But, uhhh, great vid and thanks for sharing, PEACE!!!!!

  • Great videos. I actually think you make better ones than your dad.

  • My Dad? You mean my step father?

    I despise him.

  • And Wayne isnt my father, he is a friend. When did I ever say he was my dad?

  • Oh, sorry. I thought you were smetlogik's son. I thought he said in one of his videos that Brandon was his sons name, so I thought that was you. I must've got confused. Sorry.

  • Oh, shoot, I would kill to have a dad like him. He like george bush, only cooler.

  • OMG, I was like so scared for you. Awesome video! Havent checked up on your videos for awhile

  • Another awesome video!

  • Wow thanks!

  • I would also like to add brandon that some of my family lives in greensboro, nc and I have seen copperheads in their yard. Most have been sadly killed by my family there though. : (

  • A week or so ago, I was up at Chilhowee mountain (in Tennessee) and I was riding my bike on a trail and I came about half an inch from running over a timber rattle snakes tail. It was a juvenile and it was so beautiful. It could have easily bitten me but it didn't and it didn't even rattle when a bunch of people were standing around it. Just thought I'd share that. Lol.

  • you are my favroit channel just so you know your the best channel ive ever seen

  • Lol thanks bro, makes me feel more motivated.

  • Brandon, I've been away for a while, but lo and behold, I come back and watch one of your videos and it's as spectacular as ever!!!

Thanks so much for this great video!

    5 stars as usual!

  • Hey I appreciate it man. I got some more coming soon.

  • I can't wait to see them Brandon. I know you put a lot of time and effort in making the very best possible video. And we all appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  • Great job man! I'm always excited when you post a new video. Keep it up!!!

  • Thanks man, got some more coming soon!

  • Wow that was loud, I could barely hear you talking over the rattle :P

  • Hey Rainey, I know, I was quite anoyyed that my face didnt turn out in it. I thought maybe my face was in it. They are definatly loud.

  • Dude kudos to you! Now that u handled the canebrakes move on the the eastern diamondbacks! I would love to see a vid of you w/ one im sure u have the balls to do it... Good Luck !!!

    ur fellow field herper T2allivedlac

  • Thanks man, my next target is a the Outer Banks Kingsnake or the Carolina Pygmy Rattlesnake.

  • Ok sounds great, but watch out for the pygmys there real dangerous. I know defintley down here in florida because there small and most can't rattle.

  • dude i remember when you used to ask me what i was gonna do the day i looked on your page and read that video title that said RATTLE SNAKE

  • i'm trying i'm trying! i want t find an adder too lol

  • Well everybody else is finding them. There must be a good population some where. Take the time to find one.

  • some areas have loads - others, next to none :(

  • wow! man she must of just shed!

  • That's what I'm guessing.
