  • This is probably one of the best builds I have seen for rogues. My best build was a cunning rogue dual weapon, backstab people to death. This game is 4 years old and I am still playing it. Did you like DA 2? I think that game is shit. Nice video.

  • dual weild in origins n archers in awakening and did u know u can reset ur skill n stat pts in awakening? i just found that out 2day u buy a book from sum1 i forget who though

  • say, what is your stats?

because, i mean, I usualy do an cunning high hitting archer that criticals almost all the time above 100, and i like big numbers.... how did you put that? 30 cunning 22 strengh max dex? a little less cunning just for have more dex? a little more cunning just for the bonus of bard talents, aswheel for lockpicking?

  • In dragon age 2 there is this talent where you can shoot a bunch of arrows up and then it will come down like a meteor shower

  • Archer is EXTREMELY powerful in the new Dragon age 2 if built right.

  • nice video, i just got origins and i wanted to make a rogue archer, do you think you can tell me your stats at that level?

  • ok nood question here ^-^: Does a ranger need arrows or are the Fire arrows n stuff just for extra damage? and Question 2: How the Hell can you hit for 500? im lvl 9 and still hit for like 28 ish ( duelwield dwarf warrior)

  • when i get my ps3 back im playin as an archr

  • Why the bard specialization?

  • bows are soo slow in this game =(

  • when i was having my solo playthrough, the werewolves kept using overwhelm like crazy.

  • Huh, how did you inflict Stun on that Werewolf Alpha at 1:16? Looks normal attack to me

  • First of all, cool video. I am going to create a rogue archer asap. I don't get though how Dueling aids an archer. Isn't it meant to be for Double weapon users?

  • @jimrammstein if your stuck in a area where lineing up a shot gets your skin eaten off, you need at least a BIT of power in duel weilding. dont focus entirely, but if you do happen to need to, go ahead and at least get improved duel wielding for a rogue archer. just incase your buddies cant keep that ogre from reaching you.

  • @jimrammstein Dueling adds +10 Attack even on ranged weapons.. and so does Pinpoint Strike if you activate it while you've got melee weapon drawn and switch to ranged weapon.

  • Nice videos. One question, what do you think is better? Dex dual wield or dex archer rogue?

  • @ernestas111 Thanks! DW is definitely better in Origins and Archer is better in Awakening.

  • @abenhorsen Heh you're welcome ;). Is it because of the new archery skills? I haven't tested them yet

  • @ernestas111 Yep. With Accuracy and a max Dex build, you can easily get 100% crit chance in Awakening (meaning you do 300-450 damage every single auto attack lol). You end up killing most enemies before they ever get near you and if anything does get close, just use the Legionnaire Scout talent Strength of Stone to make yourself invincible for 15 seconds (which is easily enough time to kill whatever enemy is close). Check out my solo Nightmare Awakening Archer Rogue videos if you want to lol.

  • @abenhorsen awesome dude. Thanks for clearing this out. I'm already playing orgins my dex archer! lol. Gonna import him into awakening as well. Though early levels is really hell for dex rogue ;(

  • @ernestas111 Yeah, early levels were definitely rough but I enjoyed the challenge haha. It gets easier once you get Defensive Fire. If you have RtO, I'd highly suggest getting the Repeater Gloves ASAP since they allow you to fire at max speed even with Defensive Fire on.

  • @abenhorsen Thanks for the tips. You're the best ;]

  • @abenhorsen Or you can go Spirit Warrior archer and do over 1k crits due to stacking +spirit dmg items :)

  • @abenhorsen is it best to finish origins with a DW and use the manual of focus (not sure is thats the name) in awakening to change to archer ?

  • @ernestas111 dex boosts accuracy, and diminishes the accuracy of enemies. its also nessisary in place of strength for daggers and bows. for both, its a good investment. but for archers, its really more benificial to have cunning, rather than dex. with leathality, cunning takes the strength modifiers place as a damage adjuster, so having higher cunning boosts your resistance to spells, improves lock and conversation benfits, and best of all, can increase archers boosts to damage.

  • @robloxfan459 i dont believe this to be correct...dex boosts Damage of piercing Weapons and Arrows aswell as defense

  • @ernestas111

im currently playing on ps3. i read a lot of different opinions about how to build the best rogue archer, but it is kind of unlcear. anyone have any ideas about this for ps3? cunning build vs dex build? has the dex problem been patched yet?

  • @tarded01 Dex is the most importnat thing for an archer...i got my dex to around 95-105 at lvl 22 and The Archdemon couldnt even phase me...plus i had all the best availible equipment

  • @TyrannicalGOD

thats what i thought but i keep seeing all these guys on the forums saying a cunning build with lethality and bard do the most damage. is that true?

  • @tarded01 nope not true......dex is the only thing that contributes to damge for arrows...cunning & lethality increase damage from physical attacks....i wish i could show you my dex build so you couls see for yourself.....i can go thru the whole deep roads section of the game solo...if i do use party members i use leliana as a bard & shale with stone aura and the rest of the talents in that section to further increase my defense and attack

  • @TyrannicalGOD

but i tested the lethality thing myself. you get all the damage bonuses with archery, but you don't get the 10% critical chance

  • I find that max dex builds are so boring. Once nothing in the game can hit you there's no point in playing as it becomes so borring. I really wish they made the game more challenging so max dex builds weren't so imba.

  • @chasington89 i know, EXACTLY what you mean. whenever the game isnt a challenge anymore, its not fun at all. oblivion is one thing, there was so much to do it was next to impossible to grind. but in this, grinding is impossible, but not the way it was in oblivion, where it wsa just a overload of things to do. there isnt enouph battles to grind in this game. i love dragonage, but if i make a ultimate dex character, im taking it back to blockbuster.

  • If you look closely at when he is being attacked his health doesn't go down so he is using cheats.

  • @jamies251 you don't read do you.

  • @jamies251 Of course my health doesn't go down since I'm not getting hit by any of their attacks. The whole point of this video is to show that when you stack ridiculous defense, even Nightmare enemies often can't hit you.

  • @abenhorsen how much dex do you need to become"un-hit-able?" I want my DW warrior to not die all the time and Im just on hard difficulty

  • @presbydos It's hard to say because it depends on what level you're at (since the enemies scale to your level). Just keep putting points in Dex whenever possible and add more if you're getting hit too much.

  • @abenhorsen hi mate i have seen ur vids and i was wandering my archer is level 15 and it has minimum damage of 40.0. whenever i use my arrow of slaying i take 150 and the highest i have taken so far is 291 which compared to u is nothing. i have 56 dex with gears and 36 cunning with gears. can u tell me how to improve my archery and i need good equipments yet. another prob is that recently evry time i level up my damage goes up by 0.3 not 0.5. plzz share with me ur archery experience in this game

  • @presbydos techniquely, he isnt unhitable. he just has max dex, which makes the hit rate he takes in to be less than 2 hits a minute. its mostly pointless to make a warrior unhitable, because it takes the fun out of games. when it no longer is a challenge, thats when you put it down for good. besides, im playing on hard, and i still find it a bit easy...

  • @jamies251 noob to dragon age

  • @jamies251 not at all bro, if you knew anything about how the "cheats" work in this game you would know that the only form of "god mode" is invulnerability which only works when you run out of hp, and then take 0's for every attack there after. but you have to have no hp left for it to start acting as a cheat. this person here has a lot of dexterity and all of his foes just miss.

  • arent you able to summon animals or something like that in this game? and this has like the same layout as world of warcraft

  • @RIGUY75 Only Rogues with the Ranger spec can summon animals.

  • @abenhorsen oh ok i never even played this game so i don't know anything about it

  • @RIGUY75 AHAHAHAHA, dude, Healthbars and skillbars werent made by blizzard.

  • @flyliketails yeah i knew that this game just has the same basic format. like the spell bar is at the bottom the health i think is at the top left and mini map at the top right. just the format reminded me of WOW

  • @RIGUY75 Thats the format of MOST rpgs like this... MMO or not thats a basic format... Health and Skill bars don't even look the same in WoW and the skill bar is more to the left... On the 360 you have 6 skills on your bar to the right like a circle... totally different from WoW... Which is shit-on-your-face fun <.<

  • How did you handle most fights as a lowbie?

  • @Atonil Not easily. A lot of the early fights are incredibly headache inducing. Stealth + Bombs works nicely (as well as stealthing past enemies to conserve items). You can find a bunch of Acid Flasks on enemies and between those flasks and the bombs you can make, you can run around rounding up enemies and then bombing them when they are grouped together. Setting up traps in advance can also help.

  • did you download any patches? I was thinking about making a archer rogue but I have no idea where to start...or if I should download the patch that fixes the dex bug...

  • i don't know, man..... the fire bomb did MOST of the job.....

  • I used bombs in this process for two reasons:

    1. to speed it up

    2. to show some people in the forums that bombs are AWESOME on Nightmare

You don't need bombs to own with a max dex Archer Rogue build though. Check out my Test 2 video (watch?v=pzx_5pVCxzA&feature=related) if you want to see this build tanking lots of Nightmare spiders without bombs.

  • Should I boost my willpower a bit? I've got decent equips, but my stamina drops so fast. :(

Or should i use the stamina potion mod :P...

  • I never really put points into willpower. Each point only gives you 5 stamina so you need a lot of points in willpower to make any difference (and those points are better spent in dex IMO). I'm not sure what the stamina potion mod is but you can always just use regular stamina potions if you want. Or, start each battle with no sustainables active. Use Arrow of Slaying and Scattershot while enemies are far away then turn on Defensive Fire and Dueling and what not before you get attacked.

  • Awesome!

  • He do not have a gear...

The save data his using is a hacked save data with full legendary gear on him.

  • I'm not sure what a hacked save data with full legendary gear even means but I definitely didn't use any hacks (other than the respec mod).

  • gear?

  • Pretty standard top tier rogue stuff:

Far Song, Helm of Honnleath, Red Jenny Seekers (although there are probably better archer gloves), The Felon's Coat, Cadash Stompers (Cailan's Greaves with 20% dodge are nice but I prefer those on an Alistair tank), Andruil's Blessing, The Spellward, Key to the City, and the Lifegiver. If you're using the Archer in a party, I'd probably save Lifegiver+Andruil's Blessing+Spellward for other characters since you don't REALLY need them on an Archer Rogue.

  • I'd say all those "+x to all stats" equipments are useful on Rogue Archer builds simply because you'll benefit greatly from Dex, Cun & Willpower: Dex imroves your damage output, Cun boosts Bard Songs and Willpower gives better Stamina.

For party Archer I'd recommend going for Drakeskin armor set & Far Song, lowered Fatigue means you can keep busting out your Special Attacks longer than usually... and it lowers your Thread level too, which is good for non-tank characters.

  • Fantastic strategies! Good to see archers getting the spotlight :)

  • Thanks although it's nowhere near as impressive as your low level playthrough videos!

  • 20 strength (for The Felon's Coat), 22 cunning (for Master Stealth), and then max dex seemed to work pretty well. Combine that with Duelist's Dueling and Defensive Fire and you won't get hit much (if ever). You can probably sacrifice Duelist for Ranger but then you'll need more stamina for pets + activated attacks. I'm planning on doing a solo Nightmare Archer Rogue run soon so I'll be able to give better advice in a few days probably (Mass Effect 2 has temporarily drawn me away from DA:O).

  • Any help for an archer build? I was thinking of making 1.
