  • who the hell cares if theres not that many blacks in the audience

  • I turned this review off as soon as you put scare quotes around the word 'dictator' when describing Idi Amin.

Idi Amin was not a 'dictator,' he was a dictator. He fits the bill. And oh, he did some Very Bad Things.

However, in my opinion this movie was overwrought sensationalist garbage. And I could never believe the behavior of the young white protagonist. (He has come to learn that Amin is a mass murdering paranoid lunatic, and THEN desides to seduce the guy's wife. Come on!)

  • ahhahah dammm this woman is so wrong is liek she see a movie and only se racism and black and with stuff is like every movie ofense her damm family guy should do a parody of her

  • You are suffering from the Arrogance of Ignorance because the man is real, but the incident of movie is completely made up. It is based on a book by a White man.

    Do your research please!

  • about her getting chopped up is not entirely a racial thing as you say it is. women in general always have been descriminated and suffered harder punishments due to no equality. even today in some cultures if a woman is not a virgin before she gets married they throw rocks at her until they kill her because she is concidered filthy. even if she was raped and its not her fault no body will want her. i think this has to do more with gender than race.

  • It's funny how when you report that one of the wives cheated on Amin with a white man you quickly stated "now remember this is not true" hahaha-as if you had imply yet again of the obvious. Like you couldn't proceed without the audience knowing that in reality an African Wife would never do that. hahahaha!

  • And you say this movie was really about a cheating wife? Wow! Did you happen to be present the first hour of the movie? Better yet did you see the trailer? [rolls eyes] You have to be delusional.

  • I wish there was a way to rate this video half of a half of a star because it was just that sorry and sad. You must've skipped your history class in College because Amin was a ruthless "Dictator" that had a mind of a child. It seems like you have an under the skin disgust of a white man having hot sex with black women-if you do-seek help!

  • This review Sucked balls and gross lack of information on the review frankly gives your opinion no merit. You have a "MYOPIC" way at looking at things while pulling the racist card and conspiracy theory's that it blows my mind. Next time you leave a review-get your facts straight and leave the bias & ignorance at home in the hills.

  • There was NO hidden fuckin message towards interracial relationships. The story wasn't about interracial fucking because if it was than why was nothing done to him when he had an interracial fling with the girl on the bus? Exactly! Go back to the movie and here's an idea-WATCH IT!

  • I guess ingorance is bliss! lol. I had to laugh at your silly and naive review. You even had me questioning whether you watched the movie at all because your waay off! Amin was a "DICTATOR" and killed hundreds of thousands of his own people-almost in a genocide fashion.

  • You're far too biased to give a perspective on this. To me you border racism, because you're so biased you automatically take the side of your own race. You admit yourself, saying you will only review from a black women's perspective. Thats not a very neutral view now is it? I especially love how how you gesture the term dictator in quotation marks as if to relieve Amin of the term.

  • I wonder if you do so for the simple fact that he is black. You seem to justify the dismissal of asian ugandan's because they were monopolizing Uganda. Perhaps we should kick out rich African American recording artists that dominate the R&B charts in the US. The fact that you quickly sweep the issue under the rug and even go as far as to admit that you didn't bother to do any research is insulting and highly ignorant.

  • I ask, where you reluctant to research the issue in case you found a negative streak in a black individual? You chose to focus on a full fictional plot and cry how black women are portrayed badly

  • ....excuse me, but a fictional portray of african women, and a true cleansing of Asian Africans don't even compare!!! In future, when you attempt to defend your "own" people, do so without slapping others in the face.

  • Lastly, i highly suggest you learn a little something about africa. "You know in Africa they have lots of wives" ... you obviously don't know very much about Africans, and stereotyping like that is not appreciated. Please stick to analyzing Americans and African Americans. Africa is clearly something you have no knowledge about, and haven't even bothered to do the slightest research. What use is a perspective if it's completely biased?

  • I'll be sure to inform the hundreds of displaced asian families and ugandan's that lost loved ones under the regime that an African American lady is upset about the fictional portray of the african woman in a book, perhaps i'll go as far as to let them know that you could not find the "dictator" in him.

  • this wasn't so much a review of the film, rather a story of conspiracy against the black community...what a nonsense.

  • The main part of this story was not the relationship between Garragin and Kay. That didnt happen until an hour in to the movie. When the African woman is mutilated, there was no hidden message of racism or sexism behind it. If I remember correctly they were torturing the white guy until another doctor helped him escape. The point of this was to show how this particular man, Imin, was brutal murderer and how he changed throughout his life in the eyes of another man that was close to him.

  • Then why no tell a TRUE story? Something is vicious about the way they wrote this film.

  • i grew up in uganda in the early 80s and stories abound of the gruesome deeds of Amin and his henchmen.while it still remains to separate fact from fiction, the spirit of the film is quite close to reality.remember, this was 1970s Africa were hadly any independent media existed.fact: Amin did have some of his officers killed and then covetted their widows.

  • the review on the last king of scotland while candid, lacks perspective. Amin's wife cheating with the white Doc is one of the more plausable threads in the entire movie.the wife feeling neglected and a virile young scotsman appearing on the scene foretells the eventual fireworks.kay would have felt more secure with a foreigner than any ugandan.and yes Amin and his men would have reacted in a similar manner.people got killed for far less e.g bar arguments with soldiers

  • This is NOT a TRUE story. Of course, anything is possible, but ponder why the writer would write such a thing and then portray it as if it is true, because after all Amin was a real person. If he was so terrible, why not just tell a true story?

  • This is a true story. You are the only person who thinks otherwise. Whenever you make a movie based on a true story small items are changed that do not effect the main story. For example the movie "Pride" that you love so much many, many, facts were changed for cinematic effect. That is how movies are made. You seem to only have a problem with it when it does not fit in to your little box from which you view the world.
