  • Well it would probably come to peices on your truck bit as for mine it would probably hold up just fine i got a 300 str8 6 in my truck on 42s i think as long as i keep my foot out of it and drive smart i wont have and problems. Im also going to go down to a 40 inch tire.

  • @Sixpackjr79 I have seen guys run 44s on them with no problem, and I have seen guys with 35s that couldnt keep from breaking everything.

  • literally jumps off the line

  • I guess that proves all thos die hard one ton fans wrong. All my buddys have one ton deisels and that always talk trash about how a half ton front wont hold up to a 40 inch tire.

  • @Sixpackjr79 I run 38.5x11s on the front, and the d44 WILL hold up but only in a straight line racing deal. For trail ridin and back woods muddin I dont think it would last.

  • @mudfreak79 the D44 straight axle doesnt get enough credit. I'll bet you that you could run 40" tires on her and it would hold up on the trails.

  • This truck is rank are those 60s front and rear or a 44 front with a 9 inch rear? if it is half ton have you broke very many parts?

  • @Sixpackjr79 in this vid it was 60s, but I have since switched to a d44 front to lose some weight, other then some warn hubs, I haven't broke anything in the 44. Still have the 60 rear in it

  • nice truck! what gear ratio are you running, and whats stall speed on the converter?

  • @indianheadsk8r I run 5.13 rear, 4.88 front, with a 5000 stall

  • @mudfreak79 Isn't it bad to run different gears in the front and rear, like it can really mess some stuff up, or it your truck set up to run different gears in each axle? It goes like hell though...lol

  • @FordMaverickFanatic on the road it would but this is for race only, so the slip you get in the mud allows you to run different ratios. I run 39s in the back and 38s up front so they're pretty much equal now anyhow.

  • @mudfreak79 Oh I see, thanks for the info man, I love your truck btw, I got a 78' F-150 Custom Explorer with a 400 C6 and NP205 t-case, goes through just about anything you throw at her haha

  • @mudfreak79 just curious why do you run 2 diffrent gear ratios, diffrent sized tires front and rear? also is this strictly a mud truck or does it sometimes see the street?

  • @indianheadsk8r This truck is mud race only, it spends all its time either on the trailer or in the mud hole. I run higher front gear to get the front spinning just slightly fast. I find it helps 'pull' the truck straighter through the pit. But since I run 39 rear, 38 front, it really just evens things out.

  • I know this isn't street legal but if it was what do you think your mpg's would be with a 532?

  • @Nca2013 Who cares about MPG, this is not the kind of vehicle that someone would chose to drive across country in. Big deal if it gets 10, 8 ,or even 6 mpg. Save the truck for weekends or missions, and drive the prius to work each day.

  • I have the same truck, Minus the bad ass tires.... and cool stuff,,,

  • Thats a bads ass truck..bet its fun as hell...

  • Ya

  • I think if I was riding with him, I would have needed a new pair of jeans and undies at 5 seconds.. WOW!

  • Love it! I want one!

  • HO LEE SHHH IT

  • How much money do you have to put into a f250 highboy to get a truck like yours? Awesome truck.

  • @MrBuckkiller55 all depends on how good the truck is to start off with. If its in real good condition it aint too bad. Motor and trans are expensive when you want good parts, but I would rather put up a few extra coin for good quality parts, then to have cheap ones explode and have to redo it again.

  • nasty ass truck!! gets down! -coming from a chevy guy

  • 4 wheels diggin, nice truck!

  • Tell me kind sir, kind of ford do you have? I know its a 79

  • @iiTwitchz this setup was a '79 F250 with dana 60 axles, long box and leaf spring suspension. Now it is a half ton shortbox d44 front, d60 rear with mono leaf/coilover rear, coil front suspension

  • good god whatta beast

  • That truck is so freaking awesome.

  • Gettin a little faster all the time. I've watched you progress for a couple years now. Keep up the good work.

  • @460mudder Thanks, I appreciate it. Hoping to be a bit faster this year again with some fresh mods!!

  • @mudfreak79 a lil faster. that thing can give most cars a run for their money lol. DEFINATELY job well done. that sound = OMG

  • wow the truck im building has 4.75 in the rear and 4.56 in front. its a 1980 f250 with a 400 lincoln engine with 528 hp

  • what gears do you have in that monster?

  • @badass68mustang 5.13 rear 4.88 front

  • @mudfreak79 why two differant ratios??

  • @Chadellac1 the front spins just slightly faster and helps 'pull' the truck straight through the pit.

  • @mudfreak79 Yea my dad use to sanddrag race back in the day, 80's he had a 79 bronco paddles front and back he use to run 4.88's out back and 4.56 up front to heip pull the truck as you said.

  • holy shit!

  • MOTHER FUCKER THAT IS SOME HOT SHIT!

  • i cant even count how many times i watched this video..

    JOIN US AT 460FORD.COM!

  • @Bmxer00002003 i could use another towel, i already used all of mine lol... just a truck? if it was a dodge, it would be "just a truck"

  • WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE IN IT AND WHERE CAN I GET IT!?!?

  • @laxplaya2323 it has a 532 cubic inch big block ford motor in it. Built by Precision Racing Engines in Vancouver

  • i'm a chevy guy and this video gave me a boner

  • dang you got alot of mony wraped up in that truck

  • WOW MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your incredible some day ill have a 79! I'm a big fan ive got your pics of your truck every where. oh and where do you live?

  • Thanks man thats awesome!! how much was the engine? And what have you done to the truck to make it so bad to the bond?

  • @sill61 to do the engine from scratch, with all top of the line parts pus dyno time would likely be 15-20g. The rest of the truck is dana 60s, detroit lockers, chromoly shafts, built C6 with a 5000 stall etc. Fully caged, etc etc etc. Its a race only truck, so it see's no street or trail driving.

  • How much are one of those trans? I'm looking to build a 79 with the 532 ci bff. How much horse is that truck putting out?

  • @sill61 the trans was 2300, completely built. Engine makes just over 800hp

  • can someone explain to me how he launched like that in an auto?

  • @guywhoflys1 it has a transmission brake, hold down on the button locks 1st and reverse together so it can't move, put the gas to the floor and let go of the button, and the trans lets go of reverse sending you flyin!!

  • is it an auto or is it a 4 speed trans

  • @bree7878 auto

  • fuck thats a bad ass truck

  • What tranny does it have? C6?

  • @95redteg yes, C6 with a trans brake

  • @mudfreak79 What stall converter and any valve baody change?

  • @95redteg 5000 stall, with a Merkle valve body, reverse manual shift pattern

  • @mudfreak79 Thats awesome! You can tell how it launches in the vid.

  • That's a bad son bitch right there! haha

  • Coming from a ford fan. I have a 1979 ford "big red" with a 502 bb 3500 stall, noisy gear drive 7500rpm crossfire. Hi pinion 60, 60 rear. She is a pavement princess with straight lines and a high dollar paint job. Your truck is the first early ford that I have seen with a similair (if not better) set up than mine. Well done man.

  • That is by far my favorite Ford truck I've seen to date, second would be that blue 79 with cummins convertion, rock on!

  • holy that fucker hooked up and took right off nice job building that

  • sounds wicked buddy

  • holy shit i didn't notice these videos yet, look at that thing go

  • whats the gearing?

  • is that still the 532ci bbf?

  • @n00bcak35 yes it is, just with a better trans and tires

  • what tire pressure are you running in the mud?

  • @mudcharger usually about 20lbs in the front, 10 or so in the rear. If I had bead locks I'd drop down alot more.

  • @mudfreak79 does it make a huge difference traction wise? cuz i am running 20lbs all around right now

  • @mudcharger depends on the track, but usually it does help out.

  • @mudfreak79 o ok. thanks alot!

  • @mudfreak79 Well we dont bog down here in KY where i'm from but we do a version on mud drags. Personally we go down to as low a 8 PSI in 35" Boggers. It depends on the track, and truck. Also we dont run bead lockers either. Our small block isnt putting out the power of that 532, but we still push about 500 Hp. Alot of the "big" Hp trucks around here do the same but on 38"

  • Trucks insane! Your not running smaller tires you just removed the smaller lug right? More Videos!!!

  • @Storm8300 They are abit smaller, 1 inch shorter, and 7 inches narrower, but I'm hoping they'll work better

  • holy fuck

  • i have watched this video like 20 times i love the way the truck sounds im hoping my 779 f150 will sound like that when im done building it

  • nice fffff truck man. I think softer suspension would really help you out. But man nice ffffffkkkn truck.

  • @puddlejumper98 Thanks, I am limited to what I am allowed to do to my suspension in my class, but I am still doing some tweaking to try and get it to react the way I want it to!!

  • Nice

  • im with ndubb on this wtf i cant whack in 9 sec!!!! jeez

  • your truck is completly badass!! i cant wait till i get my bronco up like your truck!!!

  • That's badass. A real truck-worthy quarter mile.

  • thats some power right der

  • sweet

  • this is torture to make a vid only 9 seconds long of this truck

  • @ndubb1 HAHA there will be more in a couple weeks I think

  • @mudfreak79 ha good to hear. tires look like the 38.5x11's now?

  • @ndubb1 yeah, with the small lugs removed

  • @mudfreak79 that's a hell of a lot of weight taken off just from the tires!

  • @ndubb1 yeah these are 50lbs lighter on each corner then the previous set I had

  • @mudfreak79 yea i'd have to say that'd only help even more with the times haha

  • looking good

  • Looks like the changes are working!!!

  • ah ya roosters , nice high roosters

  • Finally!!! A new vid!! haha Why are you running different gears?

  • @arnoldii2 so the front pulls just slightly faster, helps to track straight

  • @mudfreak79 Now that is something I never thought of. Does it kinda skip on dry pavement or hardpack?

  • @arnoldii2 haven't tried it on anything but dirt, it never see's pavement or much hard pack to speak of.

  • @mudfreak79 hey dude so i found a 460n out of a 79 licoln contenential on 60 000 k on it asking 1 grand for it .. dont know if i wanna grab that or keeep looking for a 429

  • @iceman064 thats over priced, skip that one and keep looking, 68-71 is the better years

  • holy shit dude. haha what gears u got in it? we just changed ours but i'm afraid to launch it on dry ground because of axle wrap

  • @mudcharger 5.13s in the back and 4.88s in the front. It rained hard for three days so this stuff turned out to be somewhat tacky, I figured if it was gonna break, now was as good a time as any!!

  • @mudfreak79 damn thats low we just put in 456s. haha thats a good way to look at it but i only have 2 more days till our next mud run, nd we have 2 in one day
