  • id do anything to see napalm death with lee again

  • long long time ago !!! the good ol days

it s gruesome how the time is running ...

  • they're overrated. really good for a grindcore but that doesn't such much.

a message from my niece: "ND has great music but they have crappy political beliefs"

  • @Censorships4Cowards - your niece should have formed a band in the early 80's. she'd be a legend on youtube

  • wow! Living Legends

TYPE killing4freedom to enjoy Death Metal Political Gore

  • when metal was about being different.

    (love the accent)

  • lol at the dreadlock guy headbanging with his ciggarette

  • it's funny how mellow they are considering the musi they make lol

  • I love the Macabre shirt that Mick is wearing.

  • Will some fucker light that guys cigarette!

  • 1:20 lars ulrich in the front just enjoyin lol

  • funny how hes saying about satanism is unpopular in metal, unaware of the norwegian black metal scene that would appear a few years later

  • GO YANKEES!!

  • Lee Dorrian was the shit...Barney is good but Lees along with Nik was when ND was raw " Scum and Enslavement" after that ...metal bollocks...

  • I Love Lee's crazy dancing. I also have a man crush on Mick Harris.

  • bill steer is the fuckin man.... creator of so many classics

  • @ADEZK To bad he's denied his own credibility in metal and grindcore nowadays.

  • MACABRE RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The intro. to Deceiver is actually 'borrowed' from The Stench of Burning Death by Repulsion- true story!

  • That's why Napalm Death call Repulsion a "leader", not follower.

  • wow i cant emagine a time where people play grind and dont even know it dude

  • Whoa, Mick is wearing a MACABRE shirt? Awesome!

  • If it wasn't for hardcore. There would no grind, thrash, speed, death or black metal.

  • sir thats not 100 % true , there are lots of thrash, black and death metal bands who arent inspired by hardcore but its true that hardcore was a big influence for this genres in general

  • Yeah, but until Death and Black Metal came into the picture and ripped off the blast beat from Grindcore. Which originally came from Hardcore lol You should check out the Beastie Boys "Riot Fight" and DRI's " Makes No Sence."

  • k thats kinda true

  • Comment removed

  • How can you say some stole a musical style from their influences, that is like blaming all metal musicians for stealing dark riffs from sabbath.

  • The Beastie Boys began as a Hardcore band in the early 80's, but then over the years they crossovered to Rap.

  • @AssySuarez , Death Metal ripped off the Blast Beat form Grind Core? HA HA Ever listen to the Celtic Frost tune, Visual Aggression, for a sample? Grindcore came later, it derived from Death Metal.

  • @swans1997 blast beats come from hardcore. Siege, Deep Wound and loads of obscure Italian and Yugoslavian h/c bands for example.

  • @bloodisland1 no argument there, but my main argument was at the guy saying "Blast Beats come from Grindcore". Like you, I believe hardcore was a key influence on the Thrash and Death Metal bands. The bands in the scene all counted those hardcore influences, pretty much. That's what Thrash was/is to me anyway a blend of Punk, Hardcore, and Metal and whatever else the bands add to it.D.R.I. Black Flag, Discharge blah blah blah Nowadays the label thing is so damn anal more than it was then.

  • @swans1997 Actually it derived from hardcore too. Thus the line "Grindcore: To punk for metal and too metal for punk." The blast beat was used by a lot of early hardcore bands. Also Death Metal used Gravity blast.

  • @extmalcolm blah blah blah, repeat, ditto. got it?

  • Comment removed

  • @AssySuarez if it wasn't for blues there wouldn't be no rock and there wouldn't be no punk:/

  • @mrpr0b0y Thank god for slavery, and who may i ask started this? THE WHITE PEOPLE, whites once more wins again. Fuck yes.

  • @AssySuarez Without hardcore and nwobhm there wouldn't be extreme metal

  • I Wish Lee Dorrian was still playing with them he was a great singer

  • he was their best singer

  • True very true this was their best line up

  • wow...mick harris fucking pwns...and my opinion is that FETO line up was the best grindcore lineup that ever existed...no band can make such mixture of pure noise and beautiful guitar play as old ND...grindcore these days is rotten, fake and crappy...but in those days, word grindcore had nothing to do with drum machines, shitty gargling vocals and scene fags...in those days it actually took a talent to play this way....FETO LINEUP FOREVER

  • it was an all-star lineup for sure. i'm rather partial to Walker, Steer & Owens as my ultimate grindcore lineup, but the FETO was pretty damn amazing too.

  • LEE FUCKING DORRIAN, BITCHES

  • oh shit

    this guys fucking rules

and they are hottest than hell!!!!

  • Best lineup! Bill Steer and Lee Dorrian on the same band its a fucking blast!

  • haha... elvira at the end?!? wtf?

  • dick fart chode muffins

  • dorrians the man

  • Steer and Dorrian in one video? Fuckin' fantastic!

  • best ND line up !!

  • ok, ill gust chut my mowth a nevr reed anuther coment on a metil forim agen

  • Ha HA how could I forget that Bill was in Napalm death

  • Yikes! this is the can't spell or no idea about tense genre of music is it? "Lee find himself", FOUND himself, "defidantly not" DEFINITELY not, "I prefer they're stuff, THEIR you fuckwits, study some English rather than spending time posting your illiterate shit on this website.

  • chill out dude, this ain't a fuckin exam, its youtube ffs. let people spell how they want, don't be so self-righteous. if you gotta be a dick, go write to the education board for not teaching it right in the first place.

  • I guess we should all study the use of proper capitlization and grammar from you then?

  • I prefer they're stuff with barney like.

  • wo. awesome dude

  • Lee reminds me of neil from the young ones, but he's still a metal god.

  • yyyyeeessss!!!!!!!

  • defidantly not

  • I like them both but Barney is better. Lee kicks ass in Cathedral

  • i think that Lee find himself in Cathedral ..but the tracks like "Prison Without Walls" its so fucking amazing even if i can't understand what the hell is he scream about.. but its still great

  • Old School Napalm Death is where it's at! can't say the same for new Napalm Death though.

  • have you already heard the new album?, it's pretty fast and loud like back in the days (just my opinion)

  • check out the dude with the" eternal" cig in his mouth in the front

  • What dvd is this off of?

  • hahaha at the guy headbanging with a cigarette in his mouth.

  • 3:55 look at that guy starting headbanging just as music stops

  • hahahaha!! yes!

  • music?

  • BILL STEER THE BEST !!! just that \m/

  • au yes bill I recognized him 2 lol;) Carcass rules 2:)

  • i'd like to hear you changing the face of extreme music forever

  • yes but where is your fame and your "dumb crowd".

  • Ha Ha! That kid at 3:57 who continues his judder-fit after the noise stops. Although I once danced to a fire alarm for a good 10 minutes.

  • uhhh noo napalm > repulsion

  • Classic Napalm. the best. This needs to come out on DVD if possible.

  • Is Mic wearing a Macabre shirt in the interview? Sorry it's taking me a bit longer to type than usual. My head can't stop moving.

  • Bill steer turned out to be great by himself he didnt need these guys carcass in my opinion are way better

  • wow William Steer look as young as in this video nowadays!!... and is still a legend!

  • I remember when I 1st heard "From Enslavement To Obliteration" & I laughed'cos I'd never heard anything that crazy before! Mick Harris was a true character, one of the earliest purveyors of the 'blast-beat'(remember he was blasting out back in '86!)As a drummer he should be given more credit due. This was one of the better line-ups of Napalm Death too.We may be desensitized to this level of musical intensity now,but back then it was a new thing! Classic stuff. Why didn't Earache put it on The DVD?

  • It's piss funny listening to these chilled out, quietly spoken lads giving an interview, then hearing the utter noise they can create. Great stuff.

  • You guys arguing about what category to put Napalm Death into. Were any off you people off of mama's tit yet when these guys came onto the scene?1986-87? keep you opinions to yourself

  • The old stuff's awesome. I don't think Dorian's vocals were as good, but it's fucking sick :D

  • Grind comes from hardcore punk you tosser, it's nothing like brutal death metal.

  • I know moron but grindcore was also influenced by death metal, according to critics like Joel McIver and Chad Bowar.

  • But you said that brutal death and grindcore are the same. Which they're not.

And grind might have been influenced by early death metal, but they were both forming around the same time. You can tell how much grind came from hardcore, the vocals, music, everything, it was basically just another evolution.

  • yeah and those critics dont know shit.

Grindcore came way before death metal man. DEATH METAL was influenced by GRINDCORE.

grindcore has more hardcore punk elements in there music.

  • You know not of what you speek

  • * You know not of what you speak.

  • erm...what?

presumably you're on about goregrind, which came out of grindcore, obviously.

  • Mick!

  • Bill!!! Bill!!! Bill!!!

    The Best Growler ever,

    and of course Jeff too!

  • BILL!

  • he's the same as today :)

(and I feel this tour with Carcass will bring him back into grindcore or metal)

  • That's becasue you're a poser.

  • i love the old shit...

  • beatiful rocks bleeeeubleeeufhggwow

  • from left, Shane Embury, Mick Harris, Lee Dorian, Bill Steer

and no, that's Lee Dorian "singing"

  • dat drummer is shit hot

  • no...

  • Ahhh....Steer...u chose Carcass finally.

  • Is Lee Dorrian the second from the right?

  • ND are my fav band all time but now they should end...no one is from yhe original line up.and i only saw ND in 2007(yeah portugal sucks)and the gig was like ...shit?!

    bah!

  • Bleeeeeuuurrbleueueururrufghhhhhowowowowow!!!

  • bill steer!!

  • THE TRUE LINE UP

  • Napalm Death are terrible? The pioneers of grind? Come on man I know you may find this music extreme but this is grind and Napalm Death are among the best in quality the last 20 years in the thing called death metal/grind.

  • Cant play?? Dude this was 1989, they were like 18 and youre watching grindcore being invented. Bill Steer is one of the tightest most brutal guitarists around man hate to say it.

  • I agree with everyone else, you have no idea about Grindcore.

  • i like barney alot but lee beats him

  • They are so young on this video :)

    Great clip. Precious! Thanx!

  • Steer!!!

  • yesss!!! just what i was thinking...

  • Steer indeed! STEER INDEED! I basically have a crush on every member of Carcass circa 1990.

  • Wish I had the Peel Sessions...

  • Bill was in carcass and napalm death at the same time, but then became fully commited to carcass.

  • guys, check out "noise for music sake" it has the "family tree" if you will of the original line up to the bands that have spawned from NAPALM DEATH. it is a seriously good compact disk double set.

  • great pice of work!!!

  • which one is lee dorrian and which one is bill steer?

  • from left to right: Shane, Mick, Lee, Bill

  • o yeah, bill was in carcass wasnt he?

  • Yes of course. Napalm Death, the noisy mother bearing other great, innovative bands.

  • Elvira?! what the f*ck?!

  • I just puked thats how awesome this was!!!

  • Lee Dorrian was the worst singer of Napalm Death... hahaha

  • Dorian is my mate, we call him BRAINS,

Coventry is the R'n'R capital.FUCK YOU ALL.

    Sad Fuckin tossers you are.

  • Lee must've changed his vocals a bit on their second album (which I have yet to get). On the B side of Scum he sounds like some sort of deranged Muppet

  • he doesent sing on the a side

  • I said second album, (meaning From Enslavement to Obliteration) not second side.

  • ehehhe awesome he sing like a pig grgurgurggurur

  • ND classic line up.ace.

  • or still beer! lool

  • Don't remember the name of the guy with long hair near Dorian, but I think he left Napalm for Carcass...

  • That will be Bill Steer

  • I've never seen live footage of this ND lineup before. Obviously they were pretty damn good back then as well.

  • Lee Dorian was better off fucking off from Napalm and starting up Cathedral. Napalm were an experimentation to begin with, just a bunch of core noise! In my opinion, Barney is an essential team member, he's provided some fucking good vocals over the decades, and deserves a lot more credit than some of you fucking internet fags are giving him... Big up to the Napalm scene... Fuck all you old faggots that have been stuck in the same rut for 20 years...!

  • Naplam Death rocks but as for the vocals, are there any lyrics to the songs? He's just going arrggh arrghh arrghh!! Sing the lyrics as how Barney does it man.
