My room in the basement at my first house here in colorado used to make footstep noises on the carpet all the time and nobody was walking around. It happened every noght and sounded exactly like my feet did when i walked but thats just what old houses do. Make 1000's of noises and cast shadows. That could have been like the cameras lighting making a shadow on some vase that had that kind of human curvature. I just love how its always only a quarter to half a ghost on those kind of pictures.

We humans are born with one basic ability; the ability to recognize shapes (especially face). What you see here is a dark shape, in an equally dark room, that sort of look like a person. All these people are looking for ghosts, so they're drastically more biased to recognizing a 'ghostly shape'.

It is not always 100% correct because there are things that actually happen in this world and science have not the ability to explain everything yet.
