  • Sophie Barker on the vocals!!!! She doesn't get a sixteenth of the credit she deserves!

  • @BOSOX9004 you're right about that

  • (How to start crap on the internet, voice opinion and wait.) No one really cares what you guys think and the more you push your religon on others the more they will dislike you and that religon. As well as there are alot of holes in christianity and that along with numerous accounts of child rape make people no want trust it.

  • Fran - go peddle your Bible elsewhere. Please don't pollute this beautiful music with your biblical rantings.

  • God and Jesus can't be seperate because through Jesus God showed us his love, through him we were set free from death, through him we have a chance to become one with God again. but only by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior because he carried our death for us !! being a Christian is about following in Jesus' footsteps in faith. to die with him means to leave the ways of this world behind and live how God wants us to the same way Jesus always did what God wanted from him ~ but by free choice!

  • @FranFFXII *claps. spoken like a true elementary school child

  • @FranFFXII Don't worry too much about negative comments. Remember... because they hated me, they shall hate you also. God is not the problem with the world today, but the mere mention of Christ is. As for Sophie, she's, in my mind, one of the most underrated vocalists of our time. But just maybe , she wants it that way. Only those who know her gift truly enjoy listening to her. Thanx for posting this donmaciorro

  • Gotta say you are right. 100%. Interesting that their lyrics took such a form and not many people ever really noticed consciously, yet i am sure many of us fans of their music take it with us subconsciously. This world also seems to celebrate the "gift of life", how people are born. Every song has it, Simple things: "It's an easy ride to roam, You'll never walk alone"... god is with you? Hmmm

  • @coconutgizmo You said " this world seems to celebrate " the gift of life and how people are born ". And that their fans took it with them subconsciously but do they truly listen to the lyrics or just a tune ? the songs are beautifull but only because they speak of the Truth! living subconsciously has no meaning without the truth because without the truth were are we going !! What these songs celebrate isn't a child birth but REBIRTH, it's awakening from our subconscious living !!!

  • @coconutgizmo And that's what life (this journey) is about slowly becoming aware of the Truth ( Jesus Christ ) so we can find our way back home towards God. You were right we never walk alone God is always with us. Music is supposed to touch our hearts but without understanding of the lyrics/meaning it's true value is lost ! It's no different with our lifes. The real question is with the free will that God gave us do we or don't we Consciously choose the Truth or remain living subconsciously !

  • @FranFFXII God is the truth dude:) Follow it

  • @PinnacleOfMoviegoing Amen :) !!!!

  • @FranFFXII I'm with you on god (although I'm open to change on that too), but do you believe god is Christian and Jesus. Is it possible it could just be god. Not Jesus, Muhammad etc. Anyways, just asking.

  • @thecheesburgler God is our Father but since the beginning of time Jesus Was there ! you can read about king David talking about him. The word " Christians " means follower of Jesus . i don't know about muhammed i'm not a muslim but there are other prophets ( for example Isaiah ) and in the bible they were either sent by God to tell the people to change their ways or to tell about the Messiah but either way the two are related because we have to change our ways in order to be saved by Christ

  • @thecheesburgler It's important for you to understand why God and Jesus are one. Jesus was the only child of God not to be tainted by sin unlike us, when he came to the world he remained that way because he remained loyal to God in all that he did, he came to do God's will and that was to take our sin upon himself so we could be forgiven and could establish a relationship with God but not just in this world but forever in heaven.if you read the old testament you see that when israelites were

  • @FranFFXII You religious fanatics have to ruin everything don't you.....

In my opinion, having a religion is like having a penis-

it's fine that you have one, just don't try to ram it down my throat...

  • @jaffacakeaddict1 So, so, SO well-put, darling. I agree. Both are great, but please don't ram your religion OR your penis down my throat.

  • @savedferris ha! It goes without saying that I wouldn't, it's one of my pet hates that religion comes into everything!

  • @jaffacakeaddict1 Well, I wasn't referring to YOUR penis/religion in particular, but good to know! Lol. I agree - I hate that music can't just be beautiful and meaningful without dragging religion into it.

  • @thecheesburgler in the desert they constantly had to make sacrifices to God, the reason was that God doesn't allow anything unclean/tainted with sin to be close to him because He is Holy and notting would survive . So the people made different type of sacrifices to God to clean themselves of sin and remain in his presence but since we humans keep making mistakes this would become a continues effort on our part until Jesus came ! the blood of animals was not enough to take away our sin forever

  • @thecheesburgler animals were used in our place because if we had take responsibility for our sins we would all die ( wich happened with the ark of noah ), so God sent his only son to take away our sin by sacrificing his life in the place of a ( temporary) animal to remove sin from us forever ! His blood was so pure that one sacrifice / dying once was enough to rid everyone of their sins. By doing so Jesus glorified God because he did the will of his Father !!

  • Thank you 181.Fm - Chilled for keeping me loaded with music like this.

  • FUCK. I love this song so much and i have had to wait WEEKS to listen cos thers no playback for ipod..... someone sort this if you read this and you like to waste your time for others :D

  • the song and voice are beautifull but do you guys actually listen to the lyrics ! It's about changing our ways through Jesus Christ by releasing us from our sins .. many of their songs are about God and the purpose we were truly created for . ... that's what makes these songs stand out !!

  • @FranFFXII jesus is gay

  • @FranFFXII Nice God-Goggles you got there. I listened to the lyrics. I listen to my words, see my actions, and how they affect others. That, coupled with proper reflection, is enough to get me to see that there needs to be a change. God has nothing to do with it.

  • @hiraikotsuember Did you really listen to the lyrics and who she is talking to? you said you realised they're needs to be a change ... A change of what or rather towards to Whom ? spinning is about our continues sinning and the downwards spiral effect in our lifes, by the time we realise were going in the wrong direction " we pray to God to free us from our sins , i need to change my ways ,heal these broken wings " it's not about God-goggles she"s talking about God !without God there is no us

  • @FranFFXII Gotta say, i didnt think of it that way, but i really think you have a point here. This song definitely has a spiritual aspect to it. And it's wise that they do this in a "hidden" way so they aren't perceived as another religious fanatic group. Very nice way to get a spiritual word out, and this is coming from an agnostic person.

  • @coconutgizmo try listening to more of their songs from this album like : simple things, passing by, this world etc it's like all the songs make up one story line not in any particular order but about the purpose God has for us since the beginning of time when sin came into this world even if your an agnostic try too listen too the lyrics and you'll notice it too !

  • @coconutgizmo for example the song " this world " starting at 1:26 with the lyrics :" this world is still afloat but not on Noah's boat , we've only lost the vision of the stars we're meant to be ! " Noah's boat is about the time when God wiped everything out except Noah, his children and the animals -> back then the world did excist within his boat . The lost vision is about the true purpose God has for us, the world of today is still afloat / with hope because of the love of Jesus Christ !

  • they've " hidden " the entire bible in their songs lol i noticed it immediately when i listened to their first song " simple things " after that i started to listen to more of their songs just to see if i was making this up or if it was just a coincidence but it wasn't. downside is that most people don't even seem to notice the meaning of the lyrics so i was surprised by your response ~ let me know what you think ok ! p.s

  • Sophie's voice is just immaculate

  • its good both sober and stoned. its incredible.

  • This sorta sounds like the kinda song someone would listen to while they were getting high. Not an insult.just sayin.

  • I have to agree - an almost perfectly realized song. I've listened to When It Falls and The Garden (not Yeah Ghost, yet) and this track is still the standout. Lush, with musical touches effective and added in the right places. That it is not overwrought is a testament to their skill in production. And gotta love that piano in the second verse :) And this was supposed to be a bonus track??? Hooks, lyrics, her voice...well done all around. Very strong track.

  • @landgazr If you enjoyed those DO NOT listen to Yeah Ghost... It may ruin your life. To follow up such amazing albums with that is tantamount to a war crime.

  • @drzanzibar: What are you talking about?? I really like Yeah Ghost, IMO it's their second best album. But every Zero 7 album is so different, I guess it's hard to compare them.

  • the strings in this song are so lush, it had to be bought on vinyl

  • Fantastic song.

  • I don't think it's a coincidence that every Zero 7 song I like is sung by the woman who sings this one. Such a pretty, silky, elegant voice.

  • this song makes me emotional.

  • i listen to this at work and always cry in the middle...

  • "As the world came tumbling down. You prayed to god; "what have we done?" "

  • "As the world came tumbling down. You prayed to god; "what have we done" "

  • Such a great album.

  • such a fully realised song. unreal production. In terms of of all the partrs fitting together Ive never heard a better mix of sounds and landscapes in any song. They are the best at mixing differant parts to fit the whole. Ever,,,

    I

  • I wish there was a good video for this. One of Zero 7's best songs.

  • What an amazing song. I've loved Zero 7 for years now and this is the first time that I have heard this song. Wow!! Is all I can say.

  • The very best music in the last 2 decades

  • This song makes my life seem so much better then it really is

  • @SuperZombiechic It really IS GOOD honest, all you need is faith :)

  • @125Garf well thanks garf. :) burgh_chick if you ever wanna chat on yahoo msger

  • i love when the girl is singing the song

  • @LadiiLuvRock I love it! You and I both...the girl is so much better.

  • this is not on the european simple things album , i wish it whas , thanks for the upload , its such a mind eas track!

  • This is what music should be. AMAZING.

  • One of my favourite Zero 7 songs, they have so many great songs that it's very hard to choose the best.

  • What's this off?

  • It's from their Simple Things album. Is that what you meant?

  • I got it from the US edition bonus track of the album Simple things

  • Yes that's what I meant, but it's not on my CD for some reason : (

I have the UK version and I'm sure it's not on any of my mates copies either. Great song though.

  • its on "When it falls"

  • I've got that too and it's not on it. Apparently it's on the U.S. import of simple things.

  • Zero 7s' Simple things

  • such a wonderful song. thank you so much for posting this!!! its one of my favorites
