  • Was Will even at this show? I don't see him

  • What was that at 3:24?

  • @n64m Possibly a pit being stopped.

  • @TroutedProductions Yeah, that's what I thought.

  • @TroutedProductions Man, why would you try to start a pit at a WITTR/Isis concert? I would be too mesmerized by the people onstage.

  • holy shit i wish i couldve sen this show

  • Ninoxnatalis: Justify yourself so I can dismantle you.

  • this is not black metal...

  • @Ninoxnatalis so???? i don't really give a flying fuck!! cuz its REAL music, not like mainstream fags, and genres suck dude, just stfu and listen.

  • @Ninoxnatalis

Yes it is. It's just black metal you don't like, apparently.

  • At 3 30 the singer is like pointing to someone and telling them to stop? WTF XD

  • Too the 2 people who thumbs down this video, fuck you!!!!

  • Please come back to Portland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome!

    Fuck the theists

  • that was the last show I went to, and it was awesome.

  • It's never enough to just like the music. All you dorks talking about the ideologies are listening for all the wrong reasons. You listen so you can profess how deeply underground you are. Give that shit a rest and listen to the goddam music for a change. Shut your face and listen. The reason people stereotype metal heads is because they act and speak so predictably. So shut up and listen.

  • @gshiori

The reason people stereotype metal heads is because metal heads like yourself consistently produce obstructionist discourses which block the potential for a meaningful engagement with metal's cultural content. Bearing this in mind, your demand that we "shut our faces" is typically fascistic. The scene/style politics that emerge in metal subcultures have little to do with the popular disdain for the form: the boneheaded arrogance of it's least critical advocates is at the source.

  • @gshiori

put it another way: your objection to scene politics might be restated as "can't we all just listen to the nice music" (which is flatly pathetic).

  • In jealous....he has a weakling shirt.

  • Agree a 1000%. Your average black metaller cant define nihil while it is in 90% of their songs.

  • Understanding Nihilism and totally inventing a genre based on one song are 2 differant things...Cronos laughs at the whole scene and the just keep on going with this " Black Metal is a Satanic war! " shit....What is your influence Gaahl?..long pause.."Satan!" LMAO...Let´s get it straight guys, God does not exist, therfore neither does Satan! There is no hell, there is no fire, there is no devil! It´s a fun thing to do to piss off mom, that´s it! No great reward from Lucifer for best face!

  • I indeed overdid it with my nihilism example. And the discussion on God is a really really long one. It's just a matter of belief in the end as long as you dont push it on others

  • Satanists largely don't believe in any form of god; they just use Satan as an example for a sort of quintessence of the way they believe they should live and be etc... this besides, AWESOME BAND AND SONG :P

  • Slowride, the thing is, Gaahl from Gorgoroth doesn't believe in Satan either. It doesn't make sense to make fun of a man's beliefs if you don't know what they are. He says that Satan exists only as a symbol of the opposition to Christian values. He himself also said that since there is no god there can be no satan, he says that since we live in such a religious world, things can be more easily understood by theists when you put things into their language. Most satanism isn't about Satan.

  • @DrBeatnik ...thank you.

  • @DrBeatnik

    Good comment.

  • The moment Black Metal becomes a genre filled with rules like this one is the same moment I quit listening to it altogether. I'm gonna go listen to some Bone Awl...

  • As well, good on him for breaking up the mosh. Metal is about more than just irrational anger, rage and physical aggression; channel these things mentally and spiritually into a form that truly matters, use the muscle that REALLY matters. This is a spiritual timeless art, if you want to act like a barbarian go to a thrash/crossover/punk show.

  • Really love the music of these guys as well as the ideology. Amongst a sea of angry satanists and NSBM a group comes along with thoughts actually based in reality and preserving things that matter, like the natural world; because where will you worship satan and preach racial supremacy without that?

  • I agree with the fact that the natural world is an important entity if we want to continue doing anything we've ever known about. But I think moshing is totally alright unless some dude is "hardcore dancing". I bet that was the reason he was asking someone to stop.

  • Cool story bro.

  • saw these guys back in 04 at Arts in Action and just recently with Pelican. Dudes are epic.

  • when i saw WITTR at hellfest i went in an out of metamorphasis...it was beauty unimaginible :D

  • I'm not really in to black metal (if this is considered black metal) all that much, but goddamn this song is awesome!

  • great

  • I just got into the most intense trance I've ever been in from listening to this song.

Seeing them tomorrow in Denton!!!! :)

  • and what is this song called?

  • I will lay down my bones among the rocks and roots

  • you obviously haven't listened to much WIITR

  • Well it is meant to emphasize a more ambient side of black metal or one thats meant to put into a trance rather than headbang to.

  • this is so emotional I think..

  • Now this makes me happy :)

  • so fucking amazing

  • perfect black metal...

  • Wolves In the Throne Room AND Isis?!?!? Say no more!

Please play together again! I'm not one for concerts but i wouldn't miss that for the world! Both bands are excellent in studio and live!

  • I've never seen black metal played with such passion and feral intensity. Consider me a believer at the altar that is Wolves in the Throne Room.

  • I love this video, thank you to the poster and whoever filmed it

  • 3:30 who is he saying stop to? Anyone know the story behind that?

  • Probably someone in the crowd picking a fight in the pit. Happens every now and then. I've seen the Deftones stop a song live once to break up a fight.

  • I figured that. Or some fags were moshing.

  • GODS in the throne room

  • awesome! WITTR crush!

2 LP release that has 4 songs haha. I love it. One of my favorite jams currently

  • The drummer does look like GW Bush at 3:12...Wolves rules!

  • euh ... i was talking about the GW bush appearance @ 3:12

  • hahahahaha awesome

  • @SingsLikeACree1

He totally does! Haha, well observed!

  • @SingsLikeACree1 Or Jimmy Carter :D

  • amazing footage good job

  • Wolves in the Throne Room and ISIS?? that is godlike! Come to Portugal please!

  • great

  • I was there.

  • i'm pretty sure they reeeely felt that native pride too, deep in thier minds and in thier chops.

  • ok...

  • so go watch your marilyn manson videos and post on those.

  • if anyone ha any doubts just check out the recent press regarding BM...WITTR are the best fuckin band around at the moment, sorry:)

  • people should do what they feel is right. Nathan totally went out of his league with that... a sign of things to come?

  • 3mins 15 seconds in, the drummer looks alot like George Bush. AMAZING video this one is.

  • Oh man... with Isis??? I'd love to see that! I always refer them to people as a sort of black metal version of Isis.

  • I was there. Such a great concert.

  • This section is incredible in person. The whole crowd seems to move as a big unit. Feels like you're in a wave.

  • i would love to see them live with Agalloch, i think that would sound great next to them.

  • this is great! i'm always happy when the songs sound just as good live as they do on the CD.

  • Gourgeaous performance when they came to New Mexico. Native pride feels Wolves in the Throne Room.

    -StoicDrummer

  • Although I love both of those bands intensely, why would WitTR open for Isis, exactly? Their musical styles really aren't that similar.

  • isis often tours with bands that arent very similar. theyve toured with dalek, which is a hip hop group.

  • "Although I love both of those bands intensely, why would WitTR open for Isis, exactly? Their musical styles really aren't that similar."

Thrice, Pelican, and Circa Survive toured together... =\

  • actually they're sort of similar...

  • Yeah, I can ouch for Inresurrection. I went to those shows only for Pelican. The other bands were drastically different from their style but it was still an alright show. Pelican had the best set, IMO.

  • Haunting performance.

  • Fucking amazing, I have to see these guys live.

  • The feedback/drone part in the end fucking kills me every time

  • Isis + Wolves in the Throne Room ? I could give one kidney to be there !! FUCK !!!

  • I love WITTR. They're one of the best things to ever come out of my hometown.

  • I love the facial expressions of the drummer, he makes it look like a matter of life and death. Great song!

  • strange, a black metal band opening for a post-metal band. boy if wolves in the throne room are fake black metal then fake black metal is better than the real.

  • Isis AND Wolves in the Throne Room. Must have been one hell of a night.

  • Amazing fucking band. So underatted, I was this close when I saw them at the Underworld few weeks back. They capture such an amazing atmosphere.

  • this is so fucking good, one of the best BM songs i've ever heard

  • I hope they return to Calgary...

  • No no, I'm not laughing at you. These are fine musicians...but c'mon, giving both Bowel Movement and Black Metal the same abbreviation?

    Fake BM.

    Vampire BM.

    Low Production Quality BM.

    LOL

  • Fake? Nah, you're fake here. They are actually playing it, something you would never be able to do. Let me guess they are "fake" cause they aren't from Norway, don't have corpsepaint etc? Grow up.

  • You're the pussy.

  • Good luck with that. Bands from anywhere can be good, except ofcourse if they're from turkey/Morocco.

  • Omg...dey don't have long hair or corpse paint! FAKE BM!!!

Haha, kidding of course. WITTR have finally given me new reason to get back into this genre a bit.

  • I feel the same way bro....

  • beautiful music makes us happy

  • @Timetakesusall But they live on a farm so it's okay. ;D

  • : ( ...they shall come to Spain, also.

  • they'll be tour Europe again in september, and I believe there will be dates in spain

  • nice weakling shirt

  • I moshed to WitTR, their drummer was in the pit aswell for other bands... Noctis Valkyries in Calgary, you have to wait for the right parts to mosh to this, it changes alot.

  • really?...jackasses?....shit!

  • Good. Moshpits are for complete jackasses.

  • i think some people started a moshpit and he is telling them to stop

  • At 3:28, does anybody know what he was saying?

  • some jock, there for isis, was hardcore dancing

  • Yeah, that is unacceptable. Moshing is one thing, pushing people around and stuff. But hardcore dancing, flailing your limbs to shit like you're fighting an army of invisible ninjas, is ridiculous. I can't see myself just standing still to shit as powerful as this. I don't think it's ambient music by any means but I still love it, definitely.

  • What do you mean you don't think it's ambient music? There is no thinking whether it's ambient, it is ambient. Fact.

Sorry if I misunderstood but you made no sense.

  • this band and Nachmystium are my two favorite BM bands inside and out of the US, with Weakling only being favored slightly.

  • This band has inspired me quite a bit. I hope i get to see them live one day... COME BACK TO FLORIDA!

  • fucking ultimate

  • i would much like to makeout kiss members of this band of metal!

  • seen them once in sf one really good, but has the i'm way too metal for you crowd the crowd of 50 people just standing still being extremly cool

  • These guys are amazing. I wish Weakling was still arround though.

  • yeah, Weakling was fucking epic.

  • Good shit!

  • :) great. couldn't hear the vocals much, but awesome ending.

  • Best USBM band period, imo. Actually, in my oppinion, they rank right up there with Burzum.

  • Listen to Weakling

  • well said. 2 Hunters was last year's best metal record by far.

  • awesome

  • best non-one man USBM band since weakling.

  • Nachtmystium is also good.
