The information is from exit polls taken by CNN--not from any talking heads. Do you kow what an exit poll is? They interview people who have just voted. According to recent exit polls in primary states, whites say that they use race as a motivation behind their voting moreso than blacks say they do. When Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson ran for the nomination, a vast majority of whites did not vote for them. Was the only reason these whites didn't vote for them race?

The information is from exit polls taken by CNN--not from any talking heads. Do you kow what an exit poll is? They interview people who have just voted. They take very specific data about race, eduation (which you obviously have very little of), gender, etc. It's readily available on the internet. And yes, I do like to base things that I say on facts and data. What are you basing what you say on? The two or three neurons (if that) scuttling around in your thick skull?

I gave you the context of my response and the reasoning behind what I said. So? Fact: The person I responded to said stupid things. There was no data that I could base things on, but from a preponderance of the evidence I thought the person was a racist nut job. I said that I LIKE to base things on facts and data. I didn't say that I ALWAYS base things that I say in facts and data. Get the difference? You have to pay attention to details. Work on that reading comprehension :-)

Because I understand the concept of exit polls and the commenter doesn't, I'm supposed to stay silent about his ignorance even though I don't have any data about his IQ? That seems an unresonably high standard. I don't need any data to show me what is revealed by what he says. For example, do you have any hard data that I like to base things on facts and data? It's an assumption that you reached from what I said on this page.

Let me point out a few holes in your thinking. You refer to my favoring certain principles. These are not the words I used. I said "like". For example, I could favor a colonoscopy over a lobotomy. But that does not mean that I like either one. Looking simply at the words I wrote, even though I like saying facts and data to buttress my arguments, I could also like not to use facts and data at other times while giving my opinion. The two statements are not on their face mutually exclusive.

I don't summarily dislike the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Drudge Report, Mother Jones, or the Natinal Review. They are all valid sources of information though they all lean right or left. My comment about the Neo-Nazi Times was in reference to the racially divisive comments of the commenter and not a critique of any periodical. It was a retort to a negative comment made about Jet, a magazine targeted towards black readers.

ok. On some subjects it think the NY times is a valid source of information, but on others it think it does a good job at withholding information. For example, its treatment of the news in Haiti. Those reports are obviously ignorant of the culture and history of the country. My Caribbean professors were bothered by their coverage of those events

Ii is not a statistic that is flattering to the department. That is probably the reason they gave them secretly to only the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data at the University of Michigan. For months the NYCLU has requested the statistics without success, prompting them to file a lawsuit to get them in November.

This wasn't REAL NEWS! I watch everyday and this was literally 'color' commentary. So much focus on a 'black' church should be the last thing talked about. And this feels like REAL news backing the fodder. It wasn't race that caused issue here; but the level to which Wright propegated intolerance in his rhetoric. As spoken about very clearly by Obama. Yes there is still racial tension and frustration but dialogue using separatist language only furthers the issue. Part 2 needs to establish more..
