Dave Ollila is a total moron, "all sorts of protocol is being broken", first off they keep the door open in case of an evacuation not to mention how hot it would have been if the door was closed, from what I could tell the AC wasn't working. The cockpit door is kept open for the same reason. Three he is video taping a secure area, I would have asked him to turn his camera off. The pilot was following company procedures, he couldnt let people out for THEIR safety. The ramp is closed due to WX.
You're right airlines are out of line..they should just let people wander around the ramp as they see fit...and let them board whenever they are ready...the airline will just work around everyone else's schedule (not sure how that is gona work)...and fuck safety...after all their #1 priority should be YOUR satisfaction....thunderstorms!? well just fly through it dont wana inconvienence all these passengers and be late...
Oh really? Perhaps with your logice we should keep people (elderly & disabled) and infants prisoner for several hours without food water and the ability to use the bathrooms. YOU are right! It wouldn't make sense to let these passengers back into the airport safely to let them figure out how they should have paid their big bucks to travel!!
You think that an airplane returning to the terminal wont have to wait for a gate? With all the huge money that the airlines are making *sigh* they should just lease out twice as many gates and keep them empty to accomindate an unscheduled return to the gate. No one should have to be stuck on a place for more than 2 hours on the ground in my opinion, but to argue that their lives are at risk is a bit of a joke,its a huge inconvenience but Im sure the bordem will kill you before a lack of water

You still have not recommended what YOU would do to make sense of the inconvenience and medical emergencies that CAN occur in a situation such as this. ha ha...first off, Im NOT a Republican, Fox News is awful...I'm more qualified in this field than you think....What needs to be done...take tax dollars that are distributed to municipalities for aviation prgrams, subsidies used to vamp up their airports, those dollars needs to be re-directed to the badly antiquated ATC system...that's a start
That is a much better statement! I'm not a Democrat or Republican. I should not have said that since there is little difference between the two parties. Let's hope that the airline will figure this out without the help of our government.
I like how Dave was able to extract a direct quote from the pilot in which he said that if it was his family on the plane that he would get them off the plane. We need to force the airlines hands via the passenger bill of rights and make them respect our rights and our right to leave the plane if we so desire.
