  • its great, because all the other goals like this are in obscure nations. this one happened in the premier league, against a world class goalkeeper

  • hm i am ur girl toy

  • lol baby You not gonna be bored with me

  • take that back best goal ever noooooo the roberto carlos free kick is or his one from the imposible angle

  • well i can bend to your needs, just talk to me and tell me what you want

  • still a RED

  • what a dick... talk about making it boring for everyone else...

  • Anyone who says that this is better than Maradona against England where he leaves them all standing needs their head checked. Plenty of players have scored from their own half, including goalkeepers. Just because it is Beckham doesn't make it that good.

  • @riw1989 yeah but, maradona is a cheating, drug using cunt and beckham is just a legend.

  • @riw1989 Honestly plenty of players have made similar runs to maradona's goal too. Its just special cuz it's Maradona which is stupid.

  • @ilostmypencap That depends. Maradona managed it against one of the best defences in the world at the time. Plenty of players have managed it, but at the level he did and against the team he did was incredible.

  • @riw1989 He managed it against them right after he scored a handball goal which messed up the mentality of the defending team. Yeah its tough shit isn't it.

  • the best goal is seedorf for real madrid, THAT is the best goal or strike of a ball for that matter, EVER.

  • It was Charlie Miller's boots that made that goal possible ;-)

  • Great goal. But not goal of the century.

  • goal of the century??? ahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahah

    never..

  • Perfectly calculated

  • bollocks is that goal of century. its alright yeah, but i can think of a lot better goals than that

  • maradonas goal in the 1986 world cup is the real goal of the century haters disagree well you cant deny the truth :P

  • @edcokmful We can't deny the truth... in your eyes. You more than welcome to your own opinion but don't shove it on others peoples' face.

  • @edcokmful Can't deny the truth?????????? Yes we can because i can think of 10 better goals than that cocaine taking, drivel talking fat arsed liar and cheat!

  • dont be absured, this goal is good for sure but best of the century? do me a favour.

  • Goal of the century? HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Beckam is a good player and a good model. But dude what do you mean by goal of the century?....!!.

  • That would've been pretty awkward if he missed o.o

  • @headshotz0ne no it wont be awkward because that would have been a great effort since the golie wouldnt have saved it.... an people would have prised him for his vision..

  • Good accuracy, but what was the goalkeeper doing?

  • @koshtricks lol ur right beckham made and celebrated that goal with dignity LOL

  • Only Beckham to be honest

  • this is the original. Now everyone tries to copy it...

  • That is a good celebration, unlike some other players that run 300 miles cuz they scored in front of the goal.

  • yup defintely david beckham

  • are you nuts? i so much prefer the goal scored by england slayer a.k.a. maradona beside what about few hundred of other guys like messi, pele, ronaldhino, reonaldo, oh boy the list just won't stop. goal of a century??????????????? you must be limey.

  • @staszekgobi England slayer lol. Maradonna slays KFC.

  • goal of the century? haha! goal of the month is better

  • mute that music!

  • "Cocu style"

  • Nobody else has the balls to do that.

  • ReallY nicE.. D. BECKHam.. all tiMe fAv..

  • wonderful gol,but that doesnt mean is the best ever. scoring a wonderful goal doesnt necessarily mean the distance from where you shoot.anyway, this is a great goal

  • I don't think its the goal of the century, Martin Palermo scored the same goal, and it wasnt the best of century. I prefer Maradona's and Messi's goals.

  • Actually, Nicky Law against Bradford last season, 20 yards further back, beauty.

Plus that Wigan player whose name escapes me...

  • i totally agree whith you but doesnt apply in my case i live here (us) but i was born and rise in Argentina...

  • goal of the century??????? wtf you guys dont know shiet about soccer do you?

  • @bettoandsons You call it soccer and you're from the US. No offence but these aren't exactly signs you would know better.

  • the ball have not cross their own field yet...

although i wouldn't say that's the best goal of the century (the truth is its not even his best...) still i will say that's a WONDER GOAL

  • He's like "Meh... Let's score a goal."

  • not goal of the century.. good goal.. bu ive seen better, reberto carlos freekick vs france messi and maradonna goals were they skin the entire team.

  • thats a fail of a jump

  • That's the kind of goal that would make a goalie want to find another line of work. You see that goalie's reaction at 14 seconds--he's standing there at the back of the neck thinking, "Shite! I should have listened to me mum and become a minister."

  • Nice first touch.

  • Great goal, I am sorry at happened to Wimbledon though.

  • who say that beckham was another common player doesn't know anything about football

  • this wasn't a good goal at all it was lucky circumstances and a clean strike.

  • most overrated goal of the century

  • I hate people that ask tumps up i mean lol

  • definitely not the best goal of the century

but anyways, did you see his reaction? all he did was smile and wave! i would have been flipping out

  • Beckham is a very quick learner he saw the kepper moved!

  • the keeper looks stupid...'here I come you fargot where were you..next time guard your home you moron'

  • Dungeon Siege music ftw!

  • I like how he takes a quick peek before he takes the shot.

  • @picoaga he was 21 years old at that time...

  • Gotta be a blinkerded England supporter! Mr Beckham is NOT and never has been a "Great" at football. I think you you shoudve posted this on "Poser" of the century!!

  • @linedriver1 u my friend .. u are a joke

  • @linedriver1 He is still fantastic. His stats speak pretty loudly.

  • @Khamul haha americans and your stats...stats arent everything you know...

  • how young he looks!!!! how old was he?

  • this was not favourited (if that is indeed a word) by slammantha

  • Song name plz?

  • The way it all of a sudden goes down at the end of the shot is amazing! How the hell is that possible?

  • BEAUTY! Victoria knew who chose too.

  • the goal of the century was from clarence seedorf and all goals from roberto carlos

  • @Xemi129 that makes sense dosent it ey?

  • song?

  • alonso's goal was better v newcastle. only has more views cos it is 'beckham'

  • not the goal of the century. but still an awesome goal

  • not the goal of the century

  • Joey Gudjohsons for Leicester was much more impressive than this.

Joey's was more of a drive than a lob.

    /watch?v=0zLgNS9tAMo

  • Goal of the century? Fuck off

  • -.- Diego Maradona's goal was the goal of LAST century...

    GET WITH THE TIMES PEOPLE

  • @mikejaxer Funny if you put it this way, then Beckham's goal (in this video) also belonged to LAST century.

  • THE GOAL OF THE CENTURY ITS OF DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA

    AGUANTE ARGENTINA LPM!

  • wow.... this century must have sucked.

  • this is so amazing cuz becks was merely like fucking 16 years old

  • how the hell was that the goal of the century??

  • sorry but, miles from the goal of the century

  • wasnt that good. caught the goal keeper off the goal line. if the goal keeper was on the line not a chance of scoring.

  • That was epic what was the goalie doing was he not at the goal?! Coz half the people in the world cud if saved that and he wouldn't have gone for it otherwise

But who cares that was an epic of epic epicness!

  • Glory glory Man.United))

  • damn this dude was young like crazy

    hes still got it

  • he kicked the ball in the net...big frickin' deal....

  • @wilfrid 55 from the half way line you fucking idiot do you know how accurate you have to be to do this ? and the fact he did it at the right high to get over the keeper is epic. i bet your a stupid fucking yank

  • @ps2peter oh puh-lease...the internet is full of this sort of crap...you just like to wank over Beckham, that's all...what a wanker you are.....

  • @wilfrid 55 this is against world class oppdents. alot better then watching some faggot in 100 layers of padding throw a ball like in your shitty football

  • @ps2peter and you're a world class wanker. Beckham already has a wife, so leave him alone. You can still wank however if you still love him so much, but be careful - you'll go blind.

  • @wilfrid55 'Big frickin' deal'? Why the fuck aren't you doing this then? or did i miss you at the world cup?

  • @ASBOMAN ....wow....you got me there assholeman...

  • @wilfrid55 Nice come back, i actually lold in real life it was that bad :D

  • @ASBOMAN ... what da frick are you taking about...? please read your posts before posting them so that you don't sound like a misfit...

  • A great goal, but this goal was not scored against world class opponents in a World Cup Finals.

  • yawn

  • Search as "Oktay Derelioglu Belcika" You are gonna see a more fantastic goal than the legend goal of Maradona. This is a very good goal but not a legend!

  • not the goal of the century

  • @willr91 not THE goal, David Beckhams goal :s:s

  • Maradonas Kick off goal was 1000 times better than this

  • @OmNiMaN100 2nd kick off goal

  • Best Still alive - Beckham, Kaka, Messi , Ronaldo. Two SA's, Two Europeans. SA have world cup titles, and so do europe. No one else. Seem like the two Footballing Continents? :D

  • no i think the 4 best players of ALL time r pele maradona bekham and ronaldinhio

  • how can you put beckham down as one of the best time he was unbelievable average couldnt beat a player couldnt tackle such a wingey player only thing he had going for him was he could a quality set piece the reason people hear so much about him is because he is a fashion icon people forget this is the main reason he is well known is because he is extremely marketable

  • @antofoley because of ONE thing INPARTICULAR he puit the "beckham" in bend it like beckham

  • @antofoley Think you read too many anti-Beckham Guardian articles pal. Beckham's inability to take on players is a myth. Go and watch him against Greece 2001. Against Arsenal that same year. Against Galatasaray '94. The fact is, Beckham's style meant he rarely NEEDED to take players on. He made runs for his full-back, and thus received the ball in an area already past the opposing full back, hence his propensity for being able to hit a high percentage of his crosses first time.continued

  • @FreckletonBoy As you say, his set pieces were second to none for about 7 years, and to this day I wouldn't be able to name a player I would rather have putting balls into dangerous areas for my team. As far as tackling goes, name me some wingers who consistently chase tackles. Nope, didnt think so. Wingers by definition are in empty spaces of the pitch. And when you play alongside players like Gary Neville and Roy Keane, not much lung-busting tracking back is required. continued.

  • @FreckletonBoy Face facts pal, you want to believe that Beckham is only popular because people who don't know football hear about him through films and magazines, and women love him, when sadly for you his record proves you completely wrong. So just to remind you, that record is: 6 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, 1 European Cup, 1 La Liga title, 1 Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Midfielder of the Year 99, UEFA Footballer of the Year 99, Premier League Team of the Decade inductee. Says it all, I think.

  • that was the young talented beckham

    in united

then went to fucking real and wasted his talent

so did kaka and ronaldo (a little bit)

  • Obviously, this is a nice goal. You get a nice feeling afterwards, but it's not really that amazing and definately not the best goal ever. The goalkeeper was were he has to be, but what Beckham did is tried often enough so the ball is bound to end up against the back of the net sometimes. It did that time. And comparing Beckham to Maradona and then saying 'oh yeah, and messi is pretty good too' is just nonsense. Find some tapes of Maradona's career, you'll see Beckham can't hold a candle to him.

  • @DaTux91 What?! This is tried so often its bound to go in sometimes? What the hell does that mean? That because lots of other people try this and fail at it, Beckham's success with it is somehow less impressive? The mind boggles at some peoples willingness to talk absolute bollocks to bring down someones achievements.

  • @FreckletonBoy Don't bend my words like that. I didn't say that to imply that there was no skill involved or that Beckham hasn't achieved anything. I haven't tried to bring down any of Becks' achievements nor did I have any intention of doing so. I think it's quite clear that he was one of the best and he could've been a lot better if he hadn't left ManU. And I just think people shouldn't like him 'cause of this goal, rather because of his skills and achievements. But he's not nearly a Maradona.

  • @DaTux91 Those posts were directed towards someone else. Only the first was to you, if you look again.

  • @FreckletonBoy Yes I know, no worries. I only responded to that one.

  • Beckham 10???

  • that gols is not that great it just was massive kick and the keeper was standing way off his line its more of the keepers doing then beks

  • Beckham when he was still a footballer, not some guy that was in it for the fame and money....

  • it's not the goal that is amazing, it's the stupidity of the goalkeeper that is.

  • I agree, how could he miss that?? Beckham was lucky, that is all. Don't even try to compare to Diego Maradona, he is so much more skilled. Beckham is way behind.

  • @generko ehh not really, the goal keeper has to advance off his line when the rest of his team move up the pitch so he's eventually near the edge of the box, this is for a number of reasons e.g; defenders passing the ball back so he's not dealing with a pass on his line which he might end up mis-kicking resulting in an own goal, defenders passing a slow ball back or a clumsy pass meaning he has to run out ahead of the attacker to clear the ball, and also to smother the ball on a counter attack

  • not the GOAL OF THE CENTURY but still really incredible

  • Comment removed

  • @maryampatel0198 you used beckham's name in the same sentence as maradona? You know nothing about soccer.

  • Unbelieveable

  • Beckham is the shit,man.

  • what a goal that was awesome/

  • @Protojoe912 Maradona (Argentina) using a handball to score 1-0 (or 1-1, cant remember) against England in the quarter finals

  • @Protojoe912 Seriously, is it soo hard to google "hand of god"

  • Wat a goal!!!!

  • THIS is NOT THE GOAL OF THE CENTURY

    MARADONA!!!

  • uff shut up all beckham haters england needs him!!!!

  • pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

    this is not good goal

en david is a ken doll

  • He was just being a show off and he got lucky.

  • Beckham is not worth mentioning among the best, just a prettyboy who sucks randomly... watch?v=t1eXnY7Mofg and watch?v=ROvCTscV__s

  • haha, goal of the century? fucking hell all he did is get a lucky shot after seeing the goal keeper was off his line.

  • Becks = celebrity hype...he was bought and sold only for his ability to fill the stands, not his ability to lead a team. He was benched in the Euros during his prime for good reason and has never recovered talent wise sense. He married well and photographs "well" but his football skills aren't so

  • Amazing Beckham!!!

  • @bluezone360degree its a totally shit goal and you obviously know nothing about football

  • @Sebbz360 shut the fuck up

if its a shit goal then you try to do it

wait you cant, becuase your probally some low life you sits in their FUCKING basement surfing the internet chirping professional soccer players, accomplish what he has done then talk

dont even try to be a smart ass and say, what has he done?

you know he was a great player, grow the fuck up

  • David Bekhams first ever goal for Man U as well..

  • In Italia la chiamiamo "botta di culo".

  • It's not luck. He went for it. He knew he could do it. And he did

  • Wow, Beckham was only a kid and still went for it, it could have backfired big time, this guy was bread for confidence and a famous future ever since he was a pre-teen, and he handled it great thoughout his career. Awesome Becks!

  • well...clearly this takes over the goal of the century title from Maradona :) nuff said

  • : )))) sasaciloa : )))))))

  • Good goal but to call it a goal of a century?? just type roberto carlos impossible goal

  • @juanballe07 You mean the free kick and the crazy curve? Yeah, an awesome goal indeed, but it is from a set piece, there are other goals just like Carlos' but from a half volley or even a full volley, now that is crazy tough!

  • he's the best balls kicker ever ... lmao

  • No creo que este sea el mejor. Vieron el de Maradona? Aprendan primero y luego hablemos de futbol.

    Chau

  • maradona is the best

  • does any one have an idea about the song`s name !!!!

  • "Goal of the Century"..what a joke. A long punt from the half way line over the head of a Wimbledon keeper who was miles off his line is a rubn of the mill leaguee match...give me a break....I have seen this in Sunday league games.

  • @partyguinness well said. Because it is Beckham it is "the goal of the century". Same with his free-kicks. Lots of players score goals from free-kicks including Sunday league players. George Best once said of Beckham "He scores the odd-free kick, but he's one-footed, can't beat a man, can;t head the ball, he can't tackle" George was a brilliant player and brilliant judge of a player.

  • @houghgree2 Similarily, because it's Beckham, you automatically dismiss it. Both the crazy lunatic Becks fans and the haters fall into the same camp, sorry you appear to be a part of it. No, Becks is not a brilliant dribbler and certainly not a goal scorer, but his accuracy with the ball when he has control of it is second to none (not literally, of course there is always someone better). I can see how you can dislike him due to his fame, but it's just lame.

  • @freethinker4liberty I suggest you start doing some "freethinking" and look through all the media hype that surrounds Beckham-that's if you've got a brain to do that. The only thing that is lame is your attempts to potray me and those who can see through Beckham for what he is as being jealous of his fame. Am I jealous of George Best?Maradona? Wayne Rooney?and many great footballers-no I'm not. I've been watching football for years and I call it as I see it. And Beckham is all hype CONT.

  • @freethinker4liberty His goal against Greece (it was his 8th free-kick of the game after which the Greece manager complained about all the free-kicks England were given) was his 5th goal in 46 games for England. Wow! that was some record! Not long after he became England's penalty-taker and naturally his pathetic goal-scoring was increased. However, he had to be removed from that role because he was missing too many. Remember the one that the so-called "dead-ball specialist" CONT.

  • @freethinker4liberty ballooned into the stand?. You only have too look at his goal-scoring stats to debunk the myth of his reputation as being a "dead-ball specialist". It is not quite as easy to dismiss his reputation as being a great crosser of the ball-or as you put it his "accuarcy"-but is crossing is no better than his ability to take a free-kick. He can't beat a man, so he'll cross first time and when the odd one ends up in a goal being scored all his worshippers in the media go into CONT

  • @freethinker4liberty overdrive. His reputation stands on his free-kicks and crossing of the ball and he is no better at either than "thousands of others" (this time I'm quoting Maradona not George Best). And he is no better at scoring from the half-way line when a goalie is out-of-postion than "thousands of others" either. I don't dislike him because of his fame-I don't particularly dislike him at all. I just don't rate him as a footballer for the same reasons that George Best did not rate him.

  • @freethinker4liberty if I may just add one more thing to my four previous posts. I remember George Best in his heyday. In terms of media-hype Bestie was the Beckham of the 60s. He was football's first "pop-star". As a person he was terrible and far worse than Becks. On the field however, he more than justified the hype. He was a brilliant player. As I've said, I call it as I see it. I'm interested in the footballer not the person or the hype. As a footballer Beckham just does not rate.

  • @partyguinness Sure you have.. A young kid trying to make a name for himself tries this shot and you are hating just because he happened to become a famous playboy? Can't you just see through that and watch the clip for what it is. If you're old enough, do you remember what you thought of it when it happened?

  • @freethinker4liberty Mate, I watched the 1986 World Cup so I was certainly old enough in 1996 to know my football...what did I think at the time? Cheeky effort that's it and that's all it was..I am not a Beckham hater..you think you know me!...I cldnt care less about him and his personal life. England cld do with him at this WC which is a fairly sad indictment on the current English players. Did you see Figueroa's goal against Stoke last year? That was a far better effort and goal.

  • @partyguinness Yeah, I'll have to agree with your assessment.

  • this goal wasnt the best goal ive ever seen but it wasnt lucky?

  • it was against wimbeldon so really its disqualified on that basis alone....

  • Not the best but still amazing. Can still remember that day quite vividly :D

  • it wanst luck he actually went for it, great goal but he would probably miss 9 times out of 10, and there are better out there. he hit that from half way, there is pretty much identical goals from further back. think Alonso scored one possibly more for liverpool like that

  • @adrian5987 He'd hit it 9 out of 10 in practice, but in game situation, it's amazing he kept his composure, and amazing he even went for it, as young as he was.

  • FIGUROA better goal

  • A great goal, no doubt - but if your footballing universe extended beyond Beckham, then you'd at least be aware of this beaut from Ibrahimovic:

What do you say to that, kakibola01?

  • david beckham is shit

  • goal of the century? no way this beats out maradona

  • beckam sucks

  • Is that some kind of a joke??? Goal of the century...my ass....he saw the Wimbledon goal keeper off his line and had a punt and it went it..fair play...nothing special in not very special circumstances. A routine start of season league game against wimbledon when Utd were already winning easily..WOW!!!

People are watching too much Sky Sports propaganda...you want to see a great lob..watch Nayim against Arsenal in the 1995 Cup Winners' Cup Final.
