It will be a shame if the Wurlitzer goes it will be another one that will have to find a new home. Its good to see Chris Powell is showing his support.
A lot of organ societies are very much out of touch with the under 30s and have got a long way to go in getting the youngsters interested - and that means even if your face doesnt fit!!!
I am one of those people who is not afraid to tell organ societies where I feel they have gone wrong and as a result have no involvement with organ clubs but have made my own way.
However, I can highly recommend the NETOA at Howden-le-Wear, County Durham and the STOPS group at Greenlaw, Scotland - the welcome I received was first class!!!
@christhompsonorganis I totally agree as I have found this to be the case myself, without younger members being allowed to become closely involved, many clubs and societies will just disappear. Not all youngsters are layabouts or troublemakers, Some of us care about preserving these wonderful musical instruments for future generations to enjoy as we do. So give us a chance to show what we can do, you might be very surprised at our talents! Ben, an 18 year old organist.
i wish i could help its just my sort of thing sadly were too far west to get to eston =[

My feelings entirely!!!!
Unfortunately, as a teenager I felt discouraged by many organ societies but was welcomed by the church.
I do enjoy playing the theatre organ but I have the church to thank for this as well.
Personally, I find many UK organ societies to be very cliquey and reluctant to let newcomers into the circle.
Just my twopennys worth! You may agree or disagree of course!

Tut! Tut!
Organ societies (not all) it seems are okay if your over 60 but if you are under 30 with your own mind you can forget it.
Thank god it's not just me anyway!!!

If I lived across the pond I would most definitely join the group. A very worthy cause.

We must ensure that this organ is preserved, so I too would urge anyone who can spare their time to help and assist.
Good video and well presented.
