Thank you Gerald! I think that the italian version is a cover, but the date of release was before this swiss band and those names in the credits are not in this band (are those here 'Frekin-Vaet' too?).
this song was realized in 1967 by an italian group "I Samurai" with the title "Dies Irae", and Hey Mr. Holy Man is a 1969 cover... another italian group, Formula 3, with the same tastierist Gabriele Lorenzi, realized another version in their first album of 1970
The original song "Dies Irae"was recorded by the Mec Op Singers in Belgium in 66. The Samurai's recording is a cover of this song sung in Italian published on the Jolly label who was the same label who published the original song in Italy under licence. The Shiver is a later recording of the song under a different title and words. You can hear the original song somewhere in Youtube. At least everybody can record the song, it's a traditional religious song in public domain
@mmsk8erboi Band name is Shiver, the band comes from Switzerland, the album name is Walpurgis. Is is their only LP and it was released in the year 1969 on the Maris Musik label, LP Nr. is 20501. The original LP sells for up to 1000 € (see popsike) and is on the wish list of many collectors. I have got a later reissue from the 70s or 80s. An LP reissue of 1000 copies with poster was released some years ago on the Merry Go Round label. You also find it easily on CD at eBay.

Speaking about Walpurgis, you guys should lend an ear to Walpurgisnight by Golly McCry from 1991, it's great! =^_^=

I think the original version was by the Kiss Inc.
FifthPipeDream 2 years ago
It seems that Kiss Inc.'s version is from 1970, so a pair of years after this.
The only sure thing is that Frekin and Vaet are not typical italian surnames...lol..
