  • Thanks for this creative clip. I'm starting my own spiral scarf now!

  • how many stichs you use ?

  • @halovekpop You can find more info on the blog sapphiresnpurls.blogspot.com

  • Thanks for sharing , Can't wait to knit this :)

  • thank you for making such a clear video &4 providing your blog link. I just clicked on it now. i have been looking to make this scarf but everyone i know crochets & I wanted a knitted ruffle scarf pattern.your scarf is beautiful..i think the longest i have in circulars are my size 10's & 35inch cord..i am very petite so Im hoping the 35 inches will do.what do you think?my neck is very small & the last time i knitted a keyhole scarf for a petite size it was still 2 inches too big.

  • @carolynecharlane Your needles should be long enough to accomodate all of the stitches you would need to have for this scarf, even with a bulkier yarn. If you are concerned about it not being the right length, maybe try the potato chip scarf instead, that way you can try it on as you go and stop when it is long enough for you. The potato chip scarf will spiral, but not quite as much as this one. You can get the video for potato chip scarf on the channel or blog sapphiresnpurls.blogspot.com

  • Hi...how many cast ons would I need if I want to make this spiral scarf for an adult using a 8mm needle?

  • @Senorita2319 It depends on what yarn you will be using and how many SPI you get when you knit with that yarn. I would knit a gauge swatch and go from there.

  • I have a question, what if I didn't want that deep of spirals on my scarf (would like the deep waves), could I do the same and not increase every stitch? Maybe increasing every other or third stitch?

  • @fontrella Hmmm, I've never tried this by increasing in every other or third stitch. It's worth a try. I do have another scarf tutorial planned for this weekend -- it will spiral but the edges are more 'wavy'. Maybe that will be more what you are looking for.

  • @emochocolateaddict You can get that information by clicking the link to my blog in the video description. The pattern and yarn info is all there.

  • for this scarf, how much yarn did you use? As in, how many skeins of ______ size yarn did u use? and this was just plain garter stitch right?

  • How long would you say this took you? Thanks for the upload!

  • @fzzypurpleturtle It took me a couple of days to do this particular one. Others I have made with different yarn and needles have taken more or less time - depends on the yarn and needle size

  • absolutley beautiful. In Romania we do not find that kind of yarn...the color is absolutley "amazing" they are right naming it!

    good working/knitting!

  • Nine, nice project. Regards.

  • Increíble, muy bonito very beautiful, WOW, WOW, THANKS, SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO

  • Wow -I am going to try this project -love all your video...

  • I have to try this!!! Thank you so much!!! As with the comment below, I have only seen this pattern done in crochet and I was bummed because I couldn't do it!

  • cool...i have done this scarf in crochet, but never imagined that it could be knit (giddy)!!!

questions: with the 100 stitches you cast-on, how long is the finished product? how many balls of yarn? i wanted to do this scarf for a child, how many cast-on stitches would you recommend? what size needle are you using?

    thank you!!!

  • @jmomma2003 The 100 number was just an example that someone may choose to start with. The scarf I made started with only 60 stitches and ended up being a little over 3 feet I believe. It depends on the yarn and needles you use. The Lion Brand Amazing I used for my scarf, I also used for a small child (18 mos) on US 9 needles, and only knit 2 rows between increases. That one is about 2 in. wide and just over 2 ft wide I think. I don't remember how many sts I started with.

  • @jmomma2003 I don't know how small the child is you want to make the scarf for - the pattern on my blog I think would probably be ok for 8+, as it isn't really very long. And in my first reply I meant the small scarf I made was 2 in wide and just over 2 ft LONG

  • You have beautifully shaped hands, i adore them xx
