If you listen to the intro of this song, there is no question where Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name of" came from. Not two bands that are probably mentioned in the same sentence very often.
Fab, travelled far and wide to see Saxon, great band, fab songs and magic live, can even remember Biff getting " Rear" of the year, driving all us women mad...... long live saxon :)
@bambamsatx Fastway kicks ass to wish the singer Dave King would get his shit together and leave that horrible band Floggin Molly he is in now and get back with Fastway
Oh what a concert. I've seen them in 1981 for the first time and two years ago for the last time and I'll see them again.... always been great... Biff's voice got stronger through the years and the music is still powerful like in the early years....tx for posting!
Omg. I never thought Ide see this again! Damnit YouTube is fuckin great. The 80s was so incredible for metal. Hot chicks, lsd, and Saxon. What a night this was!
@moloko76 oh right ive never heard of that place before but i looked it up and i think its still there and still called the same thing. thanks for helping me out :)
@darthmoo7 It was at The Nottingham Royal Concert Hall. This was part of a mini tour that Saxon did to promote the album Power and the Glory. The other venue was St Davids Hall in Cardiff. They were both brand new venues at the time and Saxon were the first Metal band to play there. The venue seats 2500.....which was quite big at the time.I was actually at the concert three rows from the front.Feel old now!!
ok i will just give me some time .. i have just become a father again so im a little busy i will upload the whole show in the best quality i can in one hour long clip. you will be able to download it if you have a flash video downloader like keeptube or similar or message me your postal address and i will pop a disc in the post for you
not sure i heard steve dawson had a fallout with biff and that was that. I agree his playing is spot on and sounds amazing as does todays line up with Nibbs Carter
Saw them at the Paramount Theater in Seattle in '84 with Accept and Heavy Pettin and that eagle was kick ass. That was the loudest concert I ever went to and at one point Biff whistled into the mic and it was so loud it caused my eyes to vibrate in their sockets and for a second everything went out of focus.
I couldn't hear a thing for 3 days after that gig.
the whistling is from Motorcycle Man and it's still loud performed live today .. in fact Biff could throw the mic away and you would still hear him at the back

I saw them on this tour in 1983. They were the middle act between openers Fastway and headlinders Iron Maiden (Maiden's Peace of Mind Tour!)

Great song, but the cameramen must have been a bunch of drunken monkeys pointing the cameras in random directions.

My fav Saxon tune, but its bull shit that whole time the guitar solos ripping away, they show everything but him playing.

The anthem for all the second-in line metal bands. Great song...the one I really associate with Saxon. The studio version is amazing!
