  • is the hammer on a sprung platform?

look up at the top left when the camera pans out. there's a bit of ?conduit? pointing at the side of the hammer with some ?wire? going to it.

when the hammer starts flattening the piece out, if you watch these two bits, it looks like the hammer is wobbling up and down with each hit.

perhaps to stop it wrecking foundations below it?

  • @lexichronicle2

The hammer stands on a sprung and damped platform, which lets the hammer (250,000 kgs) spring about 12 mms (1/2 inch) after each hit. This enables a considerably smaller (and cheaper) foundation. See pictures here: ww.fluekiger.ch/archiv/infrastruktur/125mt--hammer/das-fundament.html

  • @hammerurs wow! nice foundation! :)

@anvilsring: (Sorry i dont speak english): Der Hammer steht in einer stark mit Eisen bewehrten Betonwanne auf mit Silikon gedämpften Federelementen.

  • Watch that hammer shake on its shock mountings. Hammerurs: how is that hammer mounted- what kind of "foundation?" Thanks- as usual, you have the most intense hammer videos- too cool!

  • I'd like to see how big the springs that hammer is mounted on are.

  • Ein sehr interessantes Video.

Erst mal Danke für das Video und besonders für die technischen Daten.

Ihr habt ja einen ganz ordentlichen Maschinenpark.
