@PianistofAnime The next level of inspiration derived by art, is to share beyond home; toward the greater light of all human understanding; draw through our circumstances and above our realities; challenge ourselves via sharing our epiphanies, with our present self, immediate environment, family, community, world, universe, and maybe; just maybe, with infinite light.
Good Mr. President Obama is a hostage of the CIA coup d etat, committed in the dark of night, December 31st, 2011: NDAA. Mr. Obama should be impeached and guilty hijackers put on trial for treason. It's the only way to save Mr. Obama and his family and establish truth for Dr. Ron Paul to be President, without a successive coup. Serious preemptive action must be taken now, to build the foundation for Dr. Ron Paul. Truth shall prevail.
"This was Debussy's first piano piece. At the time he composed it he was employed as a private musician in the house of Madame Nadezha von Meck, Tchaikowsky's patroness."
She writes to Tchaikowsky to tell him about Debussy and his piece and his reply is
"It is a most charming piece, perhaps a little short.."
From Dances of Debussy edited by Maurice Hinson.-Just a fun tidbit, I think I'll learn this piece next it's easier than Danse!
@juiceforjoe it may seem that way, but Debussy was never really affected by Tchaikovsky's music, and was actually personally criticized by Tchaikovsky himself on this very piece of music. It's ironic that you posted that comment on this piece actually haha. The more you know!
@kamikazemelon787 indeed, I adore debussy and i really find this piece very very 'tsjaikowsky'. There's no blame in that, i adore both composers and you have to admit this is just a little early piece, very charming but not yet what debussy would become.
I prefer this version from the one by Jean-Yves Thibaudet. This version is more... "moelleuse" (the french word sounds more approriate than the word "soft"... I don't know why. Not the same connotations I guess...)
@PianistofAnime Claude-Achille Debussy (1885): "I am too enamoured of my freedom; too fond of my own ideas."

@PianistofAnime @PianistofAnime Our more poignant conundrum is why pendemic complacency of the most intelligent minds of our time compel cruelty.

@ManosOceano Why are you ruining everyone's enjoyment of this wonderful piece with the cruel world of politics, etc. ?

Appropriately, this, to me, is more late-Romantic than 'Impressionistic'.
TheWanderingNight 1 year ago
@TheWanderingNight I think so too... perhaps because he still relatively young when he composed it? Just a guess.
speedskis777 1 year ago
@TheWanderingNight
It was his first piece. He was growing up during the late-Romantic period.
But as you can hear, some parts are really modern. for example: 1.31.
This is rather impressionistic.
