After coming back to this video on and off for 6 months I'm finally understanding what Jeremy does.......Thanks for posting this.....I love you tube.....There are a lot of top players out there to check out and gives you an opportunity to pick up as much as you can. .After rotating from video watching these great players things start to click a bit...Jeremy is up there with Jimmy Smith in my book. Thanks a lot an my best wishes.......
i have been playing for years... and I cannot even imagine being able to hear those voicings... your ears are waaaay out there incredible man... I wonder what your changes would sound like orchestrated for other intruments.... out of this world...wow...how did your ears develop like that...
Jeremy is beast!!! Jeremy beasts on his own music, gospel, and jazz. He also does without even trying...there is a huge difference when he is actually going in and him just flowing or playing around. Butch Woodie...Str8 Cogic!!! Jeremy can do it all...I've played with him on several occasions. His modal chords...Beastly!!!
Lets just say you have only heard buth in a cogic setting but once again I have to disagree. Butch does is all blues, jazz, ragtime, church, old school, new school, you name it and he can play it. My question is can Jeremy play in every key without being hesitant with what he is doing. Butch can play in Z flat if he wanted to. Now that is a beast. you might wanted to do your history b4 you speak no Mr. Butch Woodie.
@STLBAYLESS You might want to check out some of Jeremy's other videos. He's on here playing bass, drums, and keys, and he's got his own quartet. This was more instructional than anything. There's no hesitation when he plays. I've know Jeremy for over 15 years. He's just seeing what he can do new on this video. I'm not taking up for him.
jeremy is more than a beast...do u even play?..and u can tell he was just playin around with derrick jackson's progresson..he's obviously on da level of say kevein powell or cory henry but look at how easily he does his runs
I feel you bra, and yes I do play and have been playing for well over twenty years. I just happen to have a ear for unique innovation which butch happens to be a wizard at doing. I'm not going to began to discuss Butch's runs, O,M.G.
He's ok.... I can't say he's a beast. You might want to check out Butch Woodie out of St. Louis. just type in "stlbayless" of Butch Woodie. Now he is a BEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!
It's nice to know that he is able to play more than one instrument, this debate pertains strictly about the organ in which someone stated he is a beast. I just happen to disagree. Once again search "Butch Woodie".
@STLBAYLESS I think you just like butch woodie. Everybody knows butch. Come down a lil bit dude...lol. We know butch is a beast. Jeremy has waaay more than this video. He doesn't post a lot on YouTube. He's just not like that.
i stopped by jeremy church after service as they also were just wrapping up and he was playing that and I had not heard it before so i had to get it on tape!
Is this Guy from okc, man out of all the musicians I know I have never heard of this guy, I would really like to get those chords he was playing in the beginning. Please get in touch with him and ask him to break down what he was doing
so are you from okc james wills and Phillip, and daryl cross are real good friends of mine. I am about 150 miles north from you guys in wichita ks, man we all have to get to together , hey ya boy and ask him to break down those chords doc.
those chords he was playing at the begging of the video from 0:00 to 0:06 was from "Derrick Jackson" same chords!
