I like Bush's first three albums, but why does everyone hate on them? Just cause they sound like Nirvana? They've made some real decent stuff am I right?

Uh, I hate to say this, but Rick Rubin ain't no better than Bob Rock. He pretty much turned Slayer into a bunch of pussies after "Reign In Blood".

And, "Death Magnetic" wasn't all it's cracked up to be either...

@patorr69 My problem with the albums after "Reign In Blood" is not because they're not fast; there's a lot of metal I love that's not particularly fast. My problem with them is just they sound very average. Take "Seasons In The Abyss" for example; I've listened to that album multiple times and the only songs I really enjoyed were probably "War Ensemble", "Dead Skin Mask", and the title track.

Personally, I feel Mutt Lange is WAAAY much worse than Bob Rock because he tries to turn hard rock/metal bands (and pretty much any artist of any other particular genre) into Mutt Lange artists. Def Leppard are, of course, his greatest victims.

In the fourth song I Turn it off. I can´t listen the record anymore. Bob Rock Murderer!! Bob rock is a bad producer for rock bands, maybe with pop music is ok, but he killed the essence of metallica and this band too

@uchiabetrayer2 well considering the Black Album was perhaps one of the best selling albums of the 90's and does have some GREAT songs on it, (My Friend of Misery, Enter Sandman, Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters) Load and ReLoad are different but not terrible. The only really shockingly bad album they did was St.Anger, and I'm pretty sure that's because of the song writing, not the production.

You have to pick up the new LEPROUS Album "Bilateral" Yes, The band wo also support Ihsahn on his live gigs has released their new Album. And it's amazing ! Needless to say Ihsahn had his hands on it aswell.

Bob Rock also produced the Gavin Rossdale solo album (the best songs were the bonus songs). Too many uncryptic lovey dovey songs - that is not Bush. I do like the rockin songs on the album though - Mirror of the Signs, Sound of Winter, Heart of the Matter, I Believe in You.

The Institute album was better. Remember what a distortion pedal is guys?

Funny. I was a big Bush fan circa Razorblade. They lost me on Science, not because it was "experimental," but because the songs were mostly stale versions of prior songs. Simply adding a bloop or bleep here and there does not an experimental record make. They also made possibly the worst album cover of all time with the new one.

I've never heard any of their previous work, so I really didn't know what to expect. I liked "The Sound of Winter" when I first heard it (on the radio, ironically). Honestly I don't have much of a problem w/ Bob. It's not like he changes the actual songs. He just changes the production to add a little mainstream appeal.
