@craig1974 hey ive been looking up dirt devil vacuum videos for information. we have the dirt devil dynomite II and i was wondering if you have any tips on how to fix the suction. ive taken the tube off, washed it and let it dry for a day, cleaned the whole cylinder, cleaned the filter. still couldnt get it to pick up. took the motor casing apart and cleaned that out along with the brush of course...
@craig1974 ...put it all back together and it still doesnt pick up. i tried what you said with not using the air filter and its still not picking up lol. do u think the motor is burnt out? it doesnt smoke or make weird noises and the belt is brand new. if you have any ideas id appreciate it greatly. ty for you patients... ;D

to would be buyer I suggest you purchase a vacuum with a bag. It's a hassle to clean and it's easier to break while cleaning. To me it feels like technology reached it's zenith in the 80's.
Found the same deal in the trash myself.. only thing wrong, was it clogged up with that carpet fresh powder in the lower vacuum port.. Id never use that powder stuff with a HEPA type Vac.
Nice! Helpful tips! My moms vacuum cleaner has no suction, I might tell her this and convince her not to throw it away, she goes through vacuums fairly quickly since we've got dogs and they are one of the hairier breeds.
You should have kept it dude, those models are NOT bad, most likely you are right about the people who owned it before using it as a wet-vac (mistakenly). For those who use them right, like yourself they last for years- I have had mine since 2002!!
Thanks for the tip, but i think the HEPA filter was too far gone anyway. It had lots of lint, and dirt caught in the elements along with it being wet/sticky. I since sold the vacuum on Craigslist with a brand new HEPA for $35.00.

Check the video responses. I found a D.D. similar to this one. It works, but it is shooting sparks though....

@SeberHusky if the motor is sparking its not worth risking your life to fix it. Its dangerous, and i would toss it

@MrMoterKid My great grandma does that! She throws out an average of 5 perfectly good vacuums a year just because they get clogged!
Apparently she doesn't know that you have to empty the filters! XD
