  • This brings me back in the good old days in the floor! glad that there's a souvenir footage video taken at that time. I missed PSE it reminds me when we were all young and crazy lol! Now ,where is T76?

  • I don't have a single connection to this field of work, but find it quite fascinating. Are these exhanges disappearing worldwide? (I'm from Sweden.)

  • Hi Carl- Evan here. Holy S&*$! That brings back some memories. How're you doing? Now I can give video footage of Steve, infamous for the time I made such a nasty remark to him that he freaked and called his lawyer. Stephen laughed and then I got a 20K raise a few months later. Life is strange. Hope the orchids are growing well. In Austin, TX, finishing a PhD in Latin American History. Harder than crossing a 5,000 lot reversal in front of the MU boys.

  • I liked the time a guy went into full cardiac arrest, and (here's the funny part) when I went to administer CPR to the guy, Lynn Keck PHYSICALLY PULLED ME OFF HIM! Oh, well, she knew best... or at least that's what she probably told the grieving family.

  • Could have sworn that more Asians worked on the floor. Aren't we 50% of SF population now? :-). Thanks for the upload Carl

  • wow, can't believe I found this video. I used to work in X89 with Marcus and Dave Post. Wild to see all the old faces. Damn I miss Christmas Eve. You hungry ChiCorp guys.. Wait your turn!

  • How can I get an internship here??

  • @nick5006taylor Go back in time about twenty years.

  • WOW crazy. I was the youngets guy on the floor when this was filmed.. 14 years old.. worked for K51 Oliver Chamberlin.. Good times.. miss this place.

  • @jmhunter83 Can I say "will you come to the front desk for your HAAAARD BADGE"

Anyway... Nike autodesk pit will be remembered.

  • cool video, where abouts was this?

  • @easyp576 San Francisco, the Exchange is at 200 Montgomery St.

  • OMG - I USED TO WORK THERE...

  • Ya, that was me, time clock Carl. I still have a couple just for old time sakes.

  • Oh, my...

And I've spent so many years repressing all memories of Steve Student.

  • @jessewiedinmyer Jusy thank god you weren't Armand. That man dealt with more shit than a snot nosed punk in boot camp.

  • @tranzparency One of the funniest things I ever saw on the floor... Back when I was I'd first started (roughly about the time of this video), I'd started as a runner for ChiCorp. Student had brushed me off for a quote a couple of times, when Jane Ryan marched back out with me and told him to give me the fucking quote before she pulled his order flow and gave it to someone else.

I swear the man almost did a belly flop chasing after her to apologise.

  • Oh, my...

  • I miss you guys!

    Shirley Woo - Susquehanna

Thanks for posting this video, I am getting nostalgic after seeing the new Wall St commercial and searching for images and pictures of me trading on the old trading floors! I think you only caught part of my shirt

  • Hi Carl. Satchwell here. You don't list your last name but I'm taking it from the comments that you're time clock Carl (why did I always think that you spelled your name with a K?). Anyway, thanks for posting the video, it certainly is interesting to see the floor again. I was still around when you took that, though I don't see myself anywhere. I'm married now and living in Amsterdam since '02, a dual Dutch and US citizen no less (saves trouble with the Migra). Thanks again.

  • Hey my dad is on this video(:

  • they need a janitor.

  • What is this the Zimbabwe stock exchange

  • I was an MQTO on the Options Floor at the PSE- crazy days

  • @WrytchusAnger When were you there? I stared with Cammie at Sharing then moved over to Compaq when Tommy was rocking the hot seat. Eventually moved back to Siberia to work with Marcus in X89.

  • I was there right after that was shot from 1998 to 2002. recognize everyone in that video. Good people, except Steve Student of course! A lot of good paying jobs and a lot of fun.

  • Thanks for the footage, really good stuff!

  • About 800 or so people worked on this floor at one time. There was a lot of energy there and many people made and lost lots of money.

  • This is video of the Options trading floor at the Pacific Stock Exchange in 1997. Market makers, guys trying to make money for themselves, stand around in "pits" where certain stocks were traded. Brokers would enter the crowd with an order, call out the series, and the crowd would yell their markets. Then the broker picked who was first and offered his order to him, then moved to the second and third guys if there were any remaining contracts to be executed.

  • ORLY?

  • @nomotrouble123 Thank you so much for uploading this video. I worked for the book for a few years and just reconnected with a variety of friends who were there between 1997 and 2002. Great memories.

  • whats this about?

  • Just found out this existed. I'm surprised that I was caught on tape ! Boy, I missed those days !

  • Brendan to LL!

  • Leigh Moore is fine its his partner Smithers that died. Heard he had a coronary & was found in his truck on a road in Baja. RIP Jim.

  • Crap! I forgot Scotty. RIP Scotty.

  • Thanks to Karl for filming, good thing that Everett thought that there was no audio!

What good times those were though I was only there from 6/94-8/02. Ah the floor in its former glory when we used to fight, cut each other out, front run (just kidding SEC), smuggle in holiday Bloody Marys (again kidding, maybe). We should do another reunion and take care of family business. OK no family biz. RIP Leigh Moore, Arthur Mason, Jeff Hawke, & John Larson. Sorry, I know Im forgetting others.

  • great job, any more PSE videos or still photos out there?

  • Wow -- what a flash -- felt like I was back in the 80s there for a second. Lots of great stories come to mind, like our independent floor broker holiday parties -- if you remember them, you weren't really there! Best to all -- T68/R11 '79 to '94.

  • RJ - I'd recongnize those acronyms anywhere.

  • go2 my profile and msg my msn name if u want to talk M

  • 3.36 whew mamma

  • carlos just bid on something by waving

  • lol funny however palm facing out makes his wave was more of a sell sign...

  • Hi michele, dang that was a long time ago. It was Matt's boat party, one of the highlights of my career at the exchange. The fact that you dont remember it means you had a good time! The first year i ran out of gas on the way home in richmond, joey sanpietro and i pushed my car to a gas station at 2 am, past a group of crack dealers. What a blast!

  • @nomotrouble123 So bumbed I missed that first year of Matt's genius. Would have loved to enjoyed the swimming.

  • Oh, yeah and I remember Jason going around 'spurring' dudes... that was hilarious!!! :)

  • Man, Karl... found this quite by accident but it damm near knocked me out of my seat!!! What a trip to see so many faces I knew sooo well a long time ago. Karl, don't know if you remember me but you made me a few CSN&Y tapes and i actually got invited to 'the boat party' but i don't remember how or why or who's party it was... hazy fun days at the exchange!

  • unbelievable.

  • Nice video :)

  • This was too funny! Definitely brought me to the heyday. I never thought I would miss this place! I hope you all are doing well.

Hey Carl...you have any of those time stamp machines!?!? =)

Pearl Madrid PSE groupie from 1988-2003 (K09)

  • Any footage of the equity floor?

  • What up guys, long time since the great times. I was that redhead that started at Casey (as alot of us did) and then moved to the Book staff...ended up working with the Notrious Rick Harrison. I was so stoked to come across this tape and relive the times that changed alot of us...hope everybody is doing well and if not...Smoke Crack >I do

  • Nick! I wrote back! Hope you got it man! Let me know!! Nice face-plant by the way! Ouch!! Hahaha!!! :P

  • BTW, how did you leave out a Sputnik trade? Or better yet, a Frank Hom trade??? With all due respect, Carl, they were the most entertaining brokers on the floor. You came in third.

  • Truth be told the best thing about my executions was that they added up correctly! Nice to hear from you hap, and you too moses! I'm not sure if Schill wasn't already in Antigua. Ahh, the Boat Party, what a heck of a good time that always was, praise Matt, currently a dog walker!

  • Carl:

I never thought I would have something nice to say about your executions-- but -- I must say well done. We still seem to be missing a few legends.....

Where was Schill or Ron Chin??

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

    HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!!!!

  • sutter Gutter anyone!!! LOL..Oh wait only after a stop at the "top of the World"!!! Ahh good times good times...I watched the towers live from the exchange that day!! Thanks for the Vid Carl!!!! HMM??? Boat party????

  • Jamie Cottrell to Snapple

  • This is od I was a witness to the Levaggi choking. Hey Tim was that before JJ's wife saw him taking a leak outside.

  • Christine.... I'm still waiting for you... ; )

  • "Student to Weight Watchers"

  • Just playin', Tommy.

(but he DID choke one night, and J.J.'s wife DID have to intervene ...he WAS green, and it was scary. Me and J.J. DID sit back down and finish our prime rib! Hahahaha. Funny now though.)

  • Are you guys serious about Levaggi? He is not dead is he? This is just a joke right? Please confirm, I would like to know for real!

    Tom

  • "Connie Lingus phone WANG"

(remember when WANG Computers traded on the floor?)

    "Harry Paratestes phone Merrill"

  • It was so sudden. Very sad. Levaggi was out in Fairfax with myself and J.J. at a banquet ... he choked on 2 lb. slab of prime rib. J.J.'s wife tried to perform the Heimlich maneuver on him, but to no avail. Scotty turned green and, well, he didn't make it. We let him drop and lay there .. motionless. Jeff Jones & I sat back down to finish our meal. -Smiley ( just little timmy @ yahoo . com )

    R.I.P. Scotty!

  • Is it true they buried Levaggi underneath the Sutter gutter?

  • I remeber a lot of the front desk pages....

Bill Gates to Microsoft; John Wilkes to your booth; Johhny Quest to the NAMBLA pit; Hugh Jorgan to Nike; Haywood Jablowme phone Steve; Bob Chambers phone Marylin...so funny! And yes- the floor wide UUUUUUUUUUUGGOOOO was always a riot! Crazy, fun days they were!

  • Yeah...I remember those! Great memory! Thanks for the laughs again...seems like yesterday.

  • Forgot to mention that I am still living in Guatemala, Central America for those who do not remember. So come visit me, PLEASE!!!!

  • Wow what a great trip down memeory lane. I worked on the floor for almost 12 years I think I saw myself but at that time I was working for Newman Securities and it was

probably hard to see me behind Todd. I only wish I could have seen John Lawson, Jeff Hauke, Billy Singfield, Lisa Sheer, etc 1 more time. Hope you are all well & Safe.

    Merry Christmas

    $Bill Bradley

  • Wow what a great trip down memory lane. I spent close to 12 years on the floor and always enjoyed the comradrie of the good people I worked with and commpeted against. I think I saw myself, but at that time I was working for Newman Securities and was probably hard to see behind Todd. I only wish I could have seen John Lawson, Jeff Hauke, Billy Singfield, Lisa Sheer, etc 1 more time. Hope you are all well, Merry Christmas

    $Bill Bradley

  • What's sad is that you can hear Everett call John Lawson right at the end of the video. Peace be with you John and Jeff!

  • Boy those years went fast, huh. I think most of us would say it was the time of our lives. And thanks for the retroactive permission, i figured i would plead statute of limitations if it came up......just....can't....follow.....rules...!

  • i hear NYSE compliance is tougher than PSE

compliance and much more sensitive to invasion of privacy issues.

They really get bent out of shape over their

    public image.

  • Carl, if anyone asks, I retroactively give you permission as floor manager and an officer of the Exchange. Best moment (of many) is at the end, where you debate whether Student is indeed a real person. CA

  • this made its way to NYC... so f'n funny. good times all around!

  • Hi Carl--nice footage--has 10 yrs really passed????L27
