This is a very good, quick tip. However, this works well with yarn. I did this years ago. When using thread for crochet check out the tutorial with Olga (olgamog38 on youtube). You'll never have a stuck stitch this way~she uses a sewing needle WITH the crochet hook! I appreciate this tip MHDesigner as it will help when time is an element and I need to finish quickly. Thanks.
WOW! I have read so many instructions on this stitch and never got it. Your tip of wrapping the large part of the hook made all the difference. It made the loops big enough to actually get the hook through. Thanks so much!
Thank you, thank you! I have been crocheting for years and never thought there were instructions that I couldn't eventually figure out until I came across this stitch in a neckwarmer pattern. The instructions given in the pattern made very little sense - they had left out the last stitch needed to secure the bullion roll. You have saved my sanity!
I just heard about this stitch on your knitpick podcast that you did last Friday with Kelley Petkin. Could you let me know how to find the YouTube about your cast on?
Thank you so much for your tips. Mine are not as neat but it takes practice. Beautiful work.

Margaret, this is a wonderful and much-needed video--thank you!
Might mention that you use an in-line hook (Bates), not an A-line hook (Boye) here.
