Hey man i need ur suggestion for buying a new control gaming mousepad, which one is the best u have tried and can reccommend? (i dont care for size of mousepad), i have razer deathadder mouse :)
Tnx for ur answer man, btw i love ur review's. Keep up with good work!
Hey I am also using the Roccat Sota along with my MX518 and it's been around 2 months since I've bought it. At first it was great but I have also noticed a slight bubble in the mat along with what looks like the upper layer of the mouse mat becoming unattached to the rest. This has resulted in an annoying glide. The mat was also very smooth but after 2 or so months of constant use, half of my mat has seemed to have roughed up with the other half still extremely smooth.
I'm gonna buy an Abyssus. Some advice? I was thinking of default QcK, Speed Goliathus and Sphex (in this order). What's the best pad for this mouse...? ^_^ Thanks!
I had a roccat sota mat. sota has a thick rubber base, which has different thermal expansion factor than the upper plastic part. so it deforms because of the warm of your hand.
this deformation little by little going to be so big, that the center of the pad will lift up.
and when you move your mouse on it, there will be waves around, and it is very annoying. the next annoying thing is that you won't be able to lift up the mouse normally, because the mat will follow the mouse upward (cc.0.8 cm).
tnx man! I've seen no video whatsoever that covers the features of input devices and mousemats as thorow and good as you do. we really need this! so keep it up! :)
The roccat Taito is NOT the same as Qck+!! Qck+ has some friction but smooth tracking, perfect for sniping! Taito is just slippery cloth. I OWN BOTH GET THE QCK+
@Frackbe I recommend all of them. It just depends on what sort of mat you want to use. Weather its a fast plasic mat like the Sota, or a control cloth mat like the Taito :)
When u r choosing a razer mouse mat dont go for the speed editon it's made for fast movement with your mouse so the speed edition it's for slow your mouse down on faster movement so go for the control-edition if u wan't it to glide a evidence look at razer vespula the control side of it look like destructor :)
@Frackbe On most gaming mouspad who have speed and control edition it meens control bad glide and speed good glide, well that's not the case on razer mousepads speed editons it's made for faster movement to slow your mouse down a evidence look at the razer vespula (both control and speed) the control side of it looks simular to razer destructor which has awesome glide. So go for the control editon if u want a razer goliathus mouse pad and like glide :)
@nonameplum i have been using the sota for like 5 months now and it looks bloody brand new,i think theres like no wear at all. i had a razer exactmat x control/speed although that one tracked quite well, there's just no contest with the sota. the sota glides well, tracks well, and has no wear. i recommend the sota very highly.
My options are Sota or Sense and i'm thinking of getting Sota, but I'm afraid it's too slippery. For example: taking your hand off the mouse or small contact to the mouse would make mouse glide order side of the mouse pad, that would be too much for me :) I mainly play WoW, but also some SC2 and CoD:BO so I need allround mat.
My current mouse is MX518, but planning to get Kone+ next month or so.
@Basti091296 Yeah.. Well kinda no.. but there is a small difference.. Optical sensor mice take better on coloured surface and laser on black.... So If you got a optical take the blue.. If laser.. get the black. But basicly they both work just as good.. idk is kinda urban legend xD
ummm im more of a control type gamer but im leaning towards the sota . justwondering if i control the mouse it wont slide to much right so instead of me ramming my DPI up ill just glide it along .
I got the roccat taito today and i expected it to be bigger. Maybe its just my desk that's huge and makes the taito mousepad look small. I'm happy with it thou.
Anyone know how to clean it properly if it gets dirty?
had the steel series great mat but the corners are getting lose from the rubber... now ordered the taito after watching ur vid^^ roccat had really decent products i got the kave and vire...
the QCK comes with different sizes and thickness as you mentioned. So it's kind of stupid to spend the beginning part speaking about the size difference and so forth.
I have a QCK mat. Bought it because it was cheap, and came recommended for my mouse (Ikari Laser). I know it's called a control mat, because it's somewhat slow. I don't think it is though. Especially when trying to follow a running enemy it's quite hard to do so.
I would deff recommend a faster mat, but you're right about it being a question of preferences.
I am having trouble understanding his accent, it could be just me though...

Roccat Sota is an excellent piece of kit. Too bad the foil tends to wear off over 3 months. But hey you can always superglue it back

Roccat Sota is one piece of shit...i used it for 5 hours of CSS then it stopped working.
I cleaned it, tried it with 3 differend mouses...still doesn't work. Sad because it actually felt really good to play with =(
