I've had many detectors some expensive and some not so expensive---I may get a Ace 250 sometime and see how it does for me--I'm curious about them and I've heard they do pretty dang good for the money!

When you're at the beach you do a test which shows the ace discriminating against ring pulls. Im just curious wether in this mode it also discriminates against thin gold rings?

All the machines I have ever owned have had this problem, if I discriminate too high against foil/ring pulls it also discriminates gold.

Any info appreciated!

All detectors will do this (despite some claiming otherwise) the secret is NEVER reject ring pulls with any detector, the Ace is no different in this respect.

Does the garrett 250 discrimenate bronze,copper english coins etc, or do you just leave out can pulls, bottle tops etc, because my previous detector could not do that and i wound up being bored and gave up detecting, but i want to buy a 250.

dont know what you mean entry level detector dont you mean the only detector ace 250 whops the ass off any detector .........

Its a good detector in its own category. Pay a couple of hundred pounds more, you'll get greater depth and better discrim.

Not as good as a 500 Pound MD, but hey, its an entry level MD.

I've got the Garrett Ace 150, I have found a silver denarius roman coin with it. It's simple to use however when you're into metal detecting like me, going on rallys, you realise that a better detector is more effecting, however it's a great for a beginner.

I'd say its a serious detector in its own category. Pay a couple of hundred pounds more, you'll get greater depth, better discrimination etc.

Great machine,I got my ace 250 of REGTON ,you get top quality customer service & fast delivery, I have found loads of relics & world war 2 stuff, found a nice coin 1853 silver liberty dime a month ago on the beach worth $475 on ebay ,but someone drilled a hole in it for a necklace,The ace is billet on the beach & in water just go down to 2/3 on sensibility &if your using 12/9 coil even deeper 3/4/5great finding machine, CANT WAIT TILL THE SUMMER STARTS its july now & no sunshine WAG BOURNEMOUTH
