Great firearm, got one myself. Went to the RAP factory in Peppestown to get a demonstration on the firearm. It can withstand a 4 meter drop on a hard surfrace. Never had a jam with my RAP 401 even with reloads no problems. Was originaly manufactured for police women and under cover police. Also came out in 40 S&W (RAP 440). Some of the South African shooting academies are still using the RAP's and most of them have allready got over a 100000 rounds through them with no problems.
hey man thats actually a nice piece idk if you know astra but the guns a pretty much the same.alot of people dont give these guns the respect they deserve becuz theyre not u.s but yet theyll buy walthers, sigs, and glocks lol what a trip
@O4jampO4 one difference I know between the Astra and the RAP is that the Astra has a cast frame and the RAP has a solid steel frame, the reason for this is that South African Engeneers ain't good with casting, but they are some of the best with machining steel. so they rather machine the frame with a CNC machine than casting the frame.
I have this gun and I luv it! @ jarrow13... I have worked in metal shops for years and machining is far supeior to casting!.. This is a great gun!

Is originally an ASTRA A75 design.
Astra along with other main gun manufacturers in Spain went out of business years ago. Guess thats why it is made now in South Africa...
Nice gun - always liked it.
Check google for: astra a 75 pistol
and: modern firearms (in the handgun section, main menu)
there you will find some info.
