The entire backstory of Esther/Leena was never told in the movie, and from what I have read, she has such a dark past that explain why she is how she is. This was a great thriller /borderline horror movie!! Among the best I've seen the acting was engaging and the story was creative and cohesive. The directors and cast did an excellent job at making the fantastic believable.

I always thought the scariest movies are those involving insane children, zombies, or exorcisms. This movie kicked ass! I hear peaple say NOES, Jennefers Body, or Saw, but this is my kind of scary movie. The parents pissed me off. I love the fact that they made ester detestable too because in alot of horror movies (like JF and Freddie kooger) they don't make the killer the detestable. I just wanted to strangle that girl.

I think this movie was pretty damn good! I just dont like how the ending it seemed like they kind of copied the ring by the "I'm not your fucking mommy!" thing if anyone has seen it. But yeah otherwise I would give it an 8 out of 10 which is a pretty good overall rating! It's a unique storyline and had my attention throughout the whole movie, and also made me laugh here and there.
this reminded me about the russian boy that was adopted and almost burnt the adopte's house down, but this movie was great it was terrifying it was thrilling it was emotional, and the twist at the end was VERY unexpected!

many told me this was supposed to be a shocking ending, id be more shocked if there was more story line revolved with the parent's affair as the movie mentioned in the middle, like the dad molested the orphan and the mom lost the baby because she cheated when she was pregnant, or maybe the orphan was the dad's past girlfriend who died. wasn't too shocked that she's 33 and has mental illness and kill people for fun because she has hormonal growth deficiency

And I think it is SICK that part when she was getting all hot for the dad. SICK. Seriously. Yea she is supposed to be thirty plus, but the real actress is not. Max, the girl playing her, was awesome! YES! I do think playing this role as a child has the potential to mess you up, or at the least mess with your head. Actors talk a lot about getting into the character, studying its mind and thoughts; becoming one with the role. Heck no I would not want my child to be one with this part. But to each his own. The actress did a great job.

However adults pretending to be children have happened now and again. A few years ago a over 30 year old woman was arrested in Norway, she was wanted in a child molestation case and she was hiding as a 12 year old boy, went to school and everything.

but the TWIST is beutiful , and i knew some one with esthers condition, i was in school and there was a "kid" going to a year 10 class i asked y dont u go to ur class he said "this is my class, u dont believe me go ask them"

many told me this was supposed to be a shocking ending, id be more shocked if there was more story line revolved with the parent's affair as the movie mentioned in the middle, like the dad molested the orphan and the mom lost the baby because she cheated when she was pregnant, or maybe the orphan was the dad's past girlfriend who died. wasn't too shocked that she's 33 and has mental illness and kill people for fun because she has hormonal growth deficiency

SPOILERS! Also, I wanted to punch the dad (SPOILER!!) for not believing the mom (STOP READING..SPOILERS!). But when she stabbed the heck out of him, I bet he wished he had believed then. And I think it is SICK that part when she was getting all hot for the dad. SICK. Seriously. Yea she is supposed to be thirty plus, but the real actress is not. Max, the girl playing her, was awesome! Sad the father died. My opinion.

YES! I do think playing this role as a child has the potential to mess you up, or at the least mess with your head. Actors talk a lot about getting into the character, studying its mind and thoughts; becoming one with the role. Heck no I would not want my child to be one with this part. But to each his own. The actress did a great job.

I didn't like the ending at all!!!!!. The only character in this movie that i really liked for some reason was esther. I hated the mother, and the brother. the father was ok. But the ending was terible. i wish esther would stay alive some how.

When i first watched this in theatre i was OBSESSED with it and i got it the day it came on dvd its awesome and i feel so bad for the little boy and girl!! =( SO SAD she almost kills the little boy like 3 times

@DeathnoteBB .Yeah....but you know,its always the same story.Wife get suspicious and the husband (who knows his wife more then 10 years in most cases)...the husband never beliefs here,and is always to busy with work.A cheap story line when you ask me.I saw this scenario to often(and better done).

@Human52093 Actually it is not that ridiculous. Yes the illness Ester is supposed to have will not make someone look like a child. However adults pretending to be children have happened now and again. A few years ago a over 30 year old woman was arrested in Norway, she was wanted in a child molestation case and she was hiding as a 12 year old boy, went to school and everything.

Isabelle was really good ! I didn't expect her to be 33 though. It wasn't soo scary but it wasn't not scary. It was in the middle. Brilliant film though.. :))
