  • Nice work mate. This format is definitely working for me, I'm loving the helpful text boxes. Cheers from New Zealand

  • Ich denke, dass Sie machen schone Videos. Wie lang haben Sie Englisch studieren? Ich bin Deutscher-Amerikanischer. Meine Mutter war geboren ins Kalifornien aber ihrer Vater war voll Irisch and meine Oma war voll Deutsch. Mein Vater war eboren ins Neu York und sein Vater war voll Deutsch und mein Vaters Mutter war Daenisch-Deutsch.

  • vielleicht

  • In portuguese we have several beautifull words too like this one: "Pneumoultramicroscopicossilicovulcanoconiose". so fine to speak!

  • "schadenfreude" ist das gleiche in Englisch für Aussprache :D

  • you make that's great im germany :D wenn du das verstehst dan n sg das mal in deinem nächsten video ok ? bb

  • Thank you kiwi your the best.

  • In Norwegian Schadenfreude = Skadefryd :P we don't use it as much but it can be translated and it means the same :)

  • how doo you say hail hitler

  • how doo you say hail hitler

  • @MrDjsane Heil Hitler? Everybody knows that >_>

  • German is the easiest to learn to an Englishmen, because they share similar language-rules, almost as if both languages were designed from the same blueprint, it's easier than any other European language, and sounds very beautiful too - however, with all languages, you need to put hard work and effort into learning :)

  • @petacavanagh stfu xD

  • @xGMxCedric Fight me, for Laura xD

  • @petacavanagh I wouldn't say that, knowing Russian is more useful than english I know that they don't seem to have smth in common but ask every Russian who has learned german and english and they will say that german is way easier :D

  • @petacavanagh Since Spanish is one the most difficult lenguage to non-spanish speaker i really find the german easy, the alphabet has the same pronunciation.

  • @sebskate95 Yeah :) German is pretty easy on language-rules, just put the effort in :)

  • thx alot.....<3 it

  • Thanks for the video! Very useful!

  • Ich liebe deine Lehren, einfach und macht Spaß und meine neue Lieblingsfreizeitbeschäftigung

  • is it true that like if you say ein buch, it means one book, but if you say zwei bucher, it means two books?

  • @The081472

    it's true

  • @The081472 I'm German and this is almost true :) If you mean 1 book it is "ein Buch", and if you mean 2 books it's "zwei Bücher" again, there is an Umlaut as she mentioned in her video.

  • @The081472 ja heißt es / yes it´s rigth

  • I always confuse Kirche and Kirsche, and then I confuse Küche and Kuchen!

  • hej Kiwi, ich bin Deutsche und schaue Deine Videos einfach zum Spass :)

  • HI KIWI,i liked ur teaching of germen languge

  • @KitsuneLovesPS2 Ich kann auch Deutsch sprechen. So you must say it ;D I know that because I am german. I hope I was helpfull;D

  • somebody please answer my question: why ist it that in german many words are written beginning with capitol letters in the middle of a sentence ??? Is that a rule for some, specific words ??

  • @klausgroi all nouns are capitalized.

  • @kaydolien thanks very much. do you know why ?

  • @klausgroi hmm i really dont know why ^^ shame on me !!! Just remember ALL nouns are capitalized and ALL names. U cant write a noun in small letters.

  • @kaydolien Ok, that's fine, thanks !

  • @klausgroi

Yeah it is. You write words with capitol letters when they are a name, a none and sometimes you write words with capitol letters because of a rule... but it's really complicated. You should search on the internet. It gives really good sides who explain it.

  • @klausgroi yes for example in German you always write Nouns and Names with an Capitol-Letter as i do here, Adjectives and Verbs small. These are basic rules

  • @tobivader ah, thank you very much !

  • lieblingsfreizeitbeschäftigung... 0_o

No thanks I'll stick to "hobby". Much easier to remember :P.

  • Mit dem Wort "lieblingsfreizeitbeschäftigung" hast du wohl alle vom Stuhl gehauen!

Also ich sag dazu immer Hobby ^^

Woher kannst do so perfekt deutsch sprechen? Zumindest kannst du die Wörter alle ohne jeglichen Akzent aussprechen! Ich bin begeistert! *thumps up*

  • Dein Deutsch ist echt gut!!

  • @Petread Sie ist ja auch Deutsche?

  • @nigginick9894 -> dein Englisch ist echt gut :D (ups. xD)

  • Das ist gut. At one point I was trying to learn German, did it on my own went over there but lots of people would switch to English. Because there knowledge of English was often greater than mine of Deutsch. So what I got to do is fly you over here and really teach me right?

  • I love it. Church to Cherry with just one letter. ahh, Deutschland.

  • wtf that´s was hard for me hahaha

    henry from california

  • @ robclosely you dont have to get confused i make an easy exapmle the english to do means in german zu tun zu is like the to in english but you cant use it like in english german is a little bit harder i make some examples English: I have to do something tomorow German: Ich habe Morgen etwas zu tun but zu can also mean the english word close English: can you please shut the door ? German: könntest du bitte die Tür zu machen ! you got it! i know its hard

  • Your cuuuute xD x

  • I enjoy your videos. Very nice presentation and you seem like a very nice person. Perhaps some day you can create a lesson that deals specifically with the past tense. Oh!!! And one thing I do get confused on is when to use "zu" before the verb at the end of the sentence. If you can give some examples that would be majestic! Thanks!

  • Thanx these short skits are great cause it's covering what I'm struggling w/ the rosseta stone which happens to be exceptionally good Thanx for cover kirche cause I've been struggling w/ that (I have a sis'n law from Karsruhe & another from Vienna & neither could get me to say it right) you explain things really good :o)

  • Für solche Videos solltest du dir evtl ein besseres Mikro zulegen :/ Man versteht dich nicht so gut. Vor allem bei dem "grün"... Hört sich an wie "grn" :P

  • @mrkenster100

    /sign

  • @Ryuuhanna You mean "sh" in Englisch? Like "sch" in German?

No ;) The "ch"-sound is just air flowing, kind of scratching, over the back part of your tongue. This part is slightly pressed upwards.... of course just a little bit.

The rest of the tongue is flat and the mouth wide open

    It's that easy ;)

  • Ja, your Shadenfreude is looking the other learning Deutsche.

    You're great Tschusssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    or

    Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft

Btw. Lieblingsfreizeitbeschäftigung ist wirklich zu lang. Alle deutschen sagen nur "Hobby"

  • Ich mag dein Hemd. ;) Danke fuer deine Zeit!

  • @Brokenmind6839 i tried asking my german friend, and time after time i just couldnt catch the reason why i cant say these words. and yes, i have more trouble with the plurals. rosetta stone is crap if you have questions of how or why. so i turned to this, but it didnt have what i needed :(

  • @TheSerjicalstrike what do you mean rossetta stone is crap!? im on the language level 4! 4 out of 5 almost done and if it wasnt for Rosetta Stone i would be struggling and memorizing stuff 0.o how far did you get in RS?

  • You probably should have mentioned that "Arzt" does not mean "doctor" as a doctorated scientist, like a biologist or a social scientist, but specically means a medical practitioner. Maybe that doesn't matter to anyone else, but I felt the urge to clarify that.

  • @Temmiklemmdemm

Arzt" is a medical scientist, most of them have a doctor's grade. In germany an economist, lawyer, teacher or any kind of scientists can achieve a doctors grade.

  • Thank you Kiwi

  • it's so funny, to be listing to you (because I'm german) - don't misunderstand me, your pronouncing is just amazing (I was wondering at first, if you're kind of mix-native-speaker of sorts...wahtever) but I've never thought about these words in the way you were explaining them - because there seems so normal to me. thumbs up, you've done this very well =)

  • @Chalanthea sie ist auch deutsch :D also brauchst du ihr nicht auf englisch schreiben ;D

  • Hey, I'm german and "Lieblingsfreizeitbeschäftigung" I've never sayed =DD we only say hobby like english people =DD

  • Kiwi, Kiwi, Kiwi,... Your never going to see this. Its behind 80000 other replies. Makes me sad. Popular girl. Anyway. Your fun to watch and thanks for posting these. Stayed with a family over there at 17. Going back now at 34. I'm scrambling to catch up and you are helping. Just want to say thanks. Oh, about hard to pronounce words.... in your split screen, maybe put up what the english spelling would be of how the word sounds? "Groon" for green? Maybe not so easy. anyway, thanks.

  • Yeah! very nice video. Adding the phonetic symbols is a good idea. I'm trying to learn german all by myself and it's been OK; it gets pretty challenging when you get to akkusativ, dativ parts.

  • really cool video, found it useful and interesting.

  • This video does work, excellent in fact. Hope this feedback is usefull. I'm a beginner and watching your video's actually makes learning German fun and a lot easier than trying to do it from a book as we get the real life pronounciation also, and a good visual display of the word as you say it, to see it, hear it and so be able to practise it with confidence, thank you again.

  • i learned something wow! I grew up speaking German till I started school at 5 years old so I really don't know long words, but I can understand listening to most conversation, anyway so this was new to me. german is funny and fun and translating can be hilarious. Keep up the good work. Thanks

  • I love you!

    Thanks for your help!

  • seriously its very usefull. but to help us understand bring more vocabulary in your examples..plz ..i need more.. like when you say cherry. churh and kitchen plz make a full sentence example..not just words... we have to get more examples...dont take us too gently by the hand( not sure of this (sorry i am french))...we want to learn :)

  • another great vid thanks

  • I would prefer a short video with just WORD after WORD. You can help us pronounce the word but don't spend too much time doing it. The more words the better. By the way I like your accent :)

  • Could you do a video on carry on conversations with the in laws. I would like to be able to say more than Greetings and the Alphabet:) Thanks so much!

  • I really like your video though i still need to repeat and jot alot to study properly. Keep going please! :D (you've got a nice voice anyway)

  • Nice Video: please continue with more difficult words

  • The subtle es are called schwa in phonetics, if you wanted to know.

  • Is she german?

  • @Neleeni oh okay she is xD

  • Well I'm german and I love her pronounciation! She's doing so great! Grammar can be tough for germans, too. But she explains it better than our teacher in school :D *thumbs up*

  • Yes, we do sometimes use 'Schadenfreude', though it will only be by quite highly educated people. When they do, the pronunciation is identical to yours.

  • I love your vids :)

  • Great t-shirt ! :D

  • Kiwi, I LOVE your videos, they are so helpful. I've since joined livemocha, which is great, but I'm really looking forward to your next video. You're a great teacher! lovin' you!

Also, could you go over the word Geldborse (wallet)? How can you type the Umlaute over the vowels... guess I can't? Thanks & hope to hear more soon!

  • Kiwi, I LOVE your videos, they are so helpful. I've since joined l
