  • I heard this when I was 19 years old on tape. Now I am 52 , alive and kicking in the Netherlands. And when I die I want this tuba solo from "when I die" on my funeral and the rest will live! Wauw!! love Margo

  • The Tuba player is Dave Bargeron, who also plays trombone. This was during the time when Jerry Fischer was the lead singer, in the mid 70's.

  • @SukoshiOtakuSan

I saw this group onstage in 1970 and it was the first and last time I ever heard/saw a tuba solo - it was amazing then and it is now. I am so glad I found this video - those were the days of $3.00 concerts at the old Civic Center in Baltimore - DCT invited everyone to come closer to the stage - and we did - sat on the floor in front of them - it was very warm and memorable.

  • @MsBebo1998 Fantastic solo. Have heard also fascinated tuba solo by Bob Stewart during Gil Evans Orchestra concert in 1978 in Prague, Czechoslovakia during an International Jazz Festival. It is also on YouTube. Bob Stewart as a contemporary soloist is there too.

  • this is the coolest
