I love your humor! I use to volunteer for meals on wheels and I really liked it. It can be emotional at times but you know you are really helping someone out.
Excellent list of goals! My family and I have been reminding each other that this is the LAST year, so the goals had better be good! ;)
For myself, I'm really working on being more organized. Not so much in a way that obliterates spontaneity, but more in a way that allows me to fit in everything I want to do in a day. I waste a lot of time doing nothing, so I'm really trying to be more pro-active, in general.
Some good places to volunteer at are wildlife refuges, or libraries. There are so many places to volunteer. I will do a tag video with the new video cam I got....I will do a video response for that this weekend after homework of course. (I survived the first week of classes). Good luck with your goals. I have tons of goals as well. *runs off to set up video cam and film new videos*
I Like your goals, all seem achievable. Good luck!
My goal for 2012 is to be as happy as possible. I want to achieve this goal in every part of my life. I'm already pretty happy but being a bit happier and more relaxed is always possible.
Good goals! I think this is one of my favorite videos you've done, actually. And I agree on most of them.
I would love to grow my own veggies, but we're not allowed to where I live. Which is bullshit, but whatever. I sneak tomato plants when I can, and grow lots of herbs, which always gets me sidelong glances from the mgmt, but SUCK IT BITCHES, basil is delicious and there's nothing you can do to stop me!!
Yay for goals! Good luck. I'm with you on the veggie garden -- I have a black thumb, but I plan on buying lots of seeds for our brand new raised beds and making my husband plant me a major garden to help with our healthy eating.
Can't wait for Velveteen and whatever the TBD project might be!
Also, elementary schools sometimes put out a call for volunteer readers where you read a story once a week to a classroom. The elderly who are home-bound can use someone to do grocery shopping or stuff around their house or rest homes can always use people to go visit those who have no one.
Good for you for wanting to volunteer! Here are a few ideas: provide rides to dialysis or chemo patients or veterans to vet hospitals, meals on wheels, help out at the animal shelter, serve or cook for soup kitchens, work the cash register at a cancer thrift shop (ours is called The Discovery Shop), or you can even walk the parks or neighborhoods and bring along a garbage bag and pick up stuff. cont...
@iamdawt Was definitely going to contact the humane society. Ours has been doing such great work, it's been a year since they've actually had to euthanize a dog. Cats are still an issue for finding homes. :(
"but they could predict the end of the world...because that makes sense." Predict the end of the world...or they just got a few hundred years into the future with thier calendar and decided, "that's good enough. We'll make more if we need it." Or they just ran out of good stone for calendar-making. But yeah--the end of the world option is probably the right one.
A humane society is literally 5min from us and Mia and I have been meaning to volunteer there for over a year now....we should really get on that...I have also started drinking more water and milk-cutting out the pop...need to lose about 15lbs at least...
You look totally awesome! When you go back and look at your first videos you can see a major difference!!!! Keep at it, you are doing so amazingly good :D
@amandapearl2books Thanks! Yeah. I recently got a comment on my first video and was forced to relive the horror. I'm definitely proud of my work, just need to keep at it.
@dannymarksya I'm in the same boat i went from 205 to 165 with a personal trainer than i went on vacation and gained some becaused unfortunately went back on pop and sweet tea which i neeed to cut back on. I want to lose another 20lbs to be back at 165.
ok,so this might seem like a random question, but I realize you have all the books in the gone series except Gone.Any reason why?? I might just not be seeing it...XD
@notsotinydancer13 Because I read Gone as a library book. I'll pick up my own copy eventually. In fact, I was going to buy a copy as part of my 50% Teen Books coupon at B&N but they only had one copy and it had some food stain on it. Sloppy.
