She C-A-N sing, but you should click the "more info" link at the top. This show was done in 1992. The good news is ... I'm pretty sure she's still singin'.
she'd be a great anita is west side story, or gypsy rose lee in gypsy, but rizzo just isn't her thing. #1 she doesn't seem rough enough (i can't seem this vixen hurt a fly), also she goes flat in places--if a singer has bad control she shouldn't be holding long notes, it makes her pitch and intonation drop, also why the big belt at the end? this song is suppose to show rizzo's vulnerability "but to cry in front of you, that the worst thing i could do" that should not be belted, but nice job
this is the first of 7 times playing Rizzo...it got better over the years...this is a non paying gig for the role...the professional performances are not on youtube...sorry...
This was not a high school production. This was at West Covina Playhouse (community theatre) and we were all in our early/mid-20s at the time. The year was 1992 ... ahhhh good times, good times.
Shmaine Sheppard delivers a sultry alto version of "There are Worse Things I Could Do" despite the shaky audio quality. Also to be enjoyed is Patrick Copeland's piano in the background. It adds an entire extra dimension to this old standard.
Wow I loved it I've seen all the play videos and I can believe that this is a high school performance! It's better than the production that is now playing in Mexico City
THANK YOU. FINALLY. She is the FIRST person I've found on YouTube who actually kept the correct rhythm of the song. And she sounds AMAZING. Although I thought it was a bad directing choice to have her start tearing up at the end.
i know her!!! she is my director!!! of a theatre group called ysmt!!

the song didnt start where it should have . . .it is supposed to be dramatic, it started loud so she couldnt go anywhere with it.

I don't quite like this version of how it's sung.
Don't get me wrong, she's a good singer, but her voice would be more suited to something other.
This song isn't really to be sung so harshly and scattered.
But well done.

Agreed ! Not many actresses would sacrifice their vocal performance for the emotion of the scene, but she did. And I think it was admirable.
