I've just ordered one! You really must see one on the flesh, there's nothing quite like it. Your video really helped me choosing the blue one although the black dialed ones are a bit cheaper (or at least I found better deals for those). So if it doesn't work for me, it's all your fault!! :p
Nice review, Brian. I, too, have looked at this watch for quite sometime and I appreciate the detail in which you did your review. Now, to find a deal. Thanks.
I agree blue lume does kinda look cooler than green I myself would prefer green. the color of greens wavelength is one of the easiest colors for the human eye to see, blue is actually "not as bright" as green. for lume in a watch , of course green will be more visible and hang a little longer in the dark....but blue is certainly more unique and "out of the norm"
at 2:20 you speak about the bezel kinda floating in place and makes a little click when tapped on top of it. I find it interesting that citizen couldnt explain further as to why they designed it that way. So allow me to explain it for them. A good divers watch will be designed to compensate for water pressures. After 15 simple feet under water you will have a noticeable resistance in turning the bezel. let alone 40 feet or greater...
Excellent review Brian. Correct the orca does not have a power level indicator like the more feature filled divers. However it does have a low-battery warning using the second hand. When the second hand skips 2 seconds at a time, its time for a solar-recharge. I think the zilla also has this feature... but don't quote me on that.
@truthaboutwatches This bloke doesn't know whats he's talking about. First of all the watch IS MADE FROM TITANIUM BUT BUT HAS A STAINLESS STEEL SCREW-IN BACK LOVELY WATCH AND SUCH A SHAME {CITIZEN} DID THIS BECAUSE THESE ARE A CLASS ACT THESE WATCHES.The stainless steel screw-in back will with-out a doubt cause corrosion mixing Titane & SS is a no no. The movement is a E-168 which is classified as one of the best in the world Up there with Rolex,Omega that's what is said if you do your homework
@BoaZ1234567891This bloke says 15 minutes of sun gives it 5 hours of running time. What a loud of rubbish. He hasn't read the booklet for this watch then.Because 15 minutes in sunlight gives this watch 48 hours of running time. dead flat to full is 48 hours of sunlight.Once thats done you can leave this watch in the south-pole in no light what so-ever for 6 months.Yes thats right 6 months and it will run for that amount of time before needing to be re-charged. E-168 movements one of best in world
@BoaZ1234567891 He's talking about 15 minutes of sun will give you 5 hours of glow on the lume for the watch hands. It was pretty clear from what he was saying that he was NOT talking about the battery. This was all even being said while he was shining a flashlight on the face to demonstrate the lume.
my citizen BM?? 300m eco drive dive watch has the same bezel issue. i've done all kinds of body surfing inall kind of heavy surf. sand is garunteed to get under the bezel. the firs time this happened i was incredibly worried but due to the space underneath the bezel the sand was able to be washed out very easily with just a short rinse under the sink faucet.
Hi Brian, nice reviews. I have a general question, and you sound like you know much about the Seikos and Citizens. I once heard a sales lady at the dept. store tell me that both of those watches are the same company, and also the Citizen watches are considered more higher caliber than the Seiko watches, or is it the other way around? thank you.
I have both - they are such different watches, I'm not sure which I would pick! This watch is definitely more of a daily wear watch than the Zilla. The Zilla's are huge watches made specifically for diving.
These can also be had for about 100-120$ on most of the watch forums if you wait for a deal to show up.

What a waste of a beautiful watch with such incredibly idiotic, overly mannerist, unpractical lug end design.

Cool vid! I actually found your web review first. Just received the black face one myself. I too love the blue lume on this guy.

I really want that watch...you like it?
I can't decide between that and the 300m "Eco-Zilla".
Thoughts?
