@CookieMonster117100 "We do have multi- ethnic clients that frequent our salon. I do need to get a more pictures that show the range of clients we service.
Really enjoyed the pictures. My daughter is 10 and has natural hair. Everyone in my family is saying I should give her a relaxer. I don't want to and after seeing your pictures I don't think I will. I normally just shampoo, condition, blow dry her hair, then flat iron it. She wears braids most of the time. Do you think I should press her hair instead of using the flat iron?
@Nmerrill2 No relaxer ! What many people fail to realize is that a relaxer is a major commitment that requires more care than natural hair. Keep her hair shampooed with a moisturing shampoo and conditioner, and keep it pressed or braided. That is the best thing you can do for all this age right now.
We need a place like yours in Saint Louis! My daughter's hair is naturally curly and she is very tenderheaded! I need some help or some recommendations on products to use!
heyy i lke those hairstyles alot how do u get there hair lke dat wit no chemicals lke perms cuz im only 13 and my hair dnt look all pretty it stays frizzy so much and i wrap it up wat should i do
This is briliant!!! Oh how I wish you were in my area! I love that you do all these styles without chemicals! Such a wonderful thing....please open a salon in Central FL!!!!
Braiding is the BEST way to do a African or Black childs (and adults) hair period b/c curling and pressing only damages your hair while when braiding your hair grows and is easily manageable[=
This reminds me of when I was a little girl. All we did was press and curl in the 80's and early 90's. It's more safer and healthy for their hair than perms.
their hair is so pretty!!!XD!i cannot wait until I grow out my hair (from braids) so I cann rock my curls!!!Ive been doing my hair journey for 2months now!By washing conditioning oiling and greasings braiding and buning im maintaining my length AND gaining-yay me!
How do u get the girls hair to look so silky smooth? My daughter is mixed with black and puerto rican, and i cant do nothing with it. I would really like to kno, thanx!!
@cynmrodriguez THEY USE PROFFESIONAL PRESSING COMBS OR FLAT COMBS. try to wash/cond., comb, and braid in 9 large single braids, let hair dry ALL THE WAY, then take braids out, use brush and flat iron to straighten hair in inch sections, hold brush and follow with iron. dont do too close to scalp. oil scalp with organic coconut or shea butter when done straightening.wrap at night is satin scarf. dont get wet. lasts 2-4 weeks until next wash. if really curly wash with 9 braids single braids in.
@AKIYIAKELLY The salon currently uses Infuance and Design Essentials Products. And depending on the hair and texture, some clients are blow dried and pressed, while others are blow dried and flat ironed.
I took my daughter to Harold's Place today and she actually got her hair done for the first time by a professional. I wanted her hair done for her 5th birthday party. She is extremely tenderheaded. I took her to a hair salon a few weeks ago and she did not get past the blow drying of her hair, we had to leave because she was crying too much. Harold's place did a good job with her hair, she felt comfortable and she only cried one time. I am very pleased.
I should have known,Detroit... the hair capital of the world! They are always clownin(in a good way)with the hair there. Nice video! No chemicals needed.
The hair you did for those little girls is so fabulous. I wish you were n my hm town so you could do my little girls hair. I put a kiddy texturizer in my daug hair and she 4 and only let it stay 2mins and now her hair is dry breaking=no more chemicals 4 her=any good helpful thoughts I have been using aphogee it seems to have stop breakage but still not growing and still very dry ...thanks keep up great work...
My baby is about to be in a baby pageant i dont know how to do hair to well so please give me some advice onto how to do it, are should i just get it done, shes only 2.
Amazing ! Greetings from NYC! Seriously make sure you get ownership for that service mark. (ie, so you won't damage it...) I love it. Good luck with ur business. 4 real.
Wow! A more ignorant response for an already ignorant comment. When people make offensive comments like that one you should try to respond with some intellect instead of embarassing us and reinforcing negative stereotypes. Thank You :)
I know ya'll don't really reveal your secrets but, HOW IN THE HECK did you guys get their hair that straight, sleek, shiny, and beautiful. I cannot get my daughters hair like that. And i've tried it all!!!!
my daughter is mixed and her hair use to be bone striaght, then it transformed into curls, now its an afro! I blow dry it and flat iron it and it last no more than 2 hours. before I know it its a puffy mess again. How do you feel about Hair texturizers in childrens hair?
Children do not recieve their true texture until about the age of 5. Your daughter being born with one text and it change into something different it perfectly normal. At our salon, we do not believe in use chemicals in children's hair, mainly because the scalp is not mature enough. That is why you so man African American children with damaged hair. Texurizers are nothing more than relaxers that are left on the hair half the required time and reducing half the curl.
The curls in the video are called Spiral Curls or Shirley Temple Curls. Because I am not a stylist I am not the best to explain how to do it. My best suggestion to seek the advice of your local professional !
I think that the video here is trying to illustrate that a mild relaxer is not needed if the style desired is a "straight" look. but I do agree as well that I would like to see natural styles that do not involve heat.

It all depend on the stylist preference. Some use the old school Marcel curling Irons, others use Ceramic Flat Irons !
