Great song from an under-rated album. Listen to it yourself, don't hang on the critics' words. They tend to parrot one another instead of being bold and objective and honest.
Wow. From the archives. Private Audition was a terrible album, but this was one of the better songs. I really like the acoustic guitar melded with the electric. I get the feeling the Wilsons never much liked doing videos, or being interviewed on TV - they were musicians, after all. I could be wrong, but I always sense they'd rather be in front of a mic than a camera.
This is very cool. THis has always been my fav song from them. I live in Buffalo and to see they picked Buffalo for the video shoot, very cool. Heart was and is still amazing. Are they in the rock and roll hall of fame yet?
Once again....women who are so talented. under-rated more than any other rock band. Well this song by its self KICKS the most serious of rock ass!! Doin It.
Not a terrible song but a big departure from what got them fame in the beginning. But then this was around when MTV and Hair Metal came into favor. I don't think they quite fit in with that era of music so they fell to the wayside.
@christus7victor LOL old skool telephone handle...I laugh ever time I see that part. I have no doubt Ann was a strong girl, but those old phones were tough as hell..good luck breaking it.
@cyndycyndycyndy , the reason behind the video style and, especially, the costumes, is that the producers insisted on hiding Ann's weight. Ann went through absolute hell in Heart's early years, being insulted because of her weight, and being forced to hide it. In some videos, they went so far as to stretch the picture vertically in order to slim her down. Some sick stuff, and I'm just glad she survived it.
@KayakMike1963 that is hollywood shyt.... being forced into doing all kinds of BS to hide her weight?? that pisses me off, all she ever wanted was to make good music... which she has done ...... and shes beautiful as well... thats what gave her a complex.... man i hope she read these comments so they understand how much the fans love their music....thx HEART
@jackkatienkids If it's "Hollywood shyt" it was propagated by Nancy herself, and others involved in the band. I've read interviews of Nancy where she discusses exactly what I mentioned. I just wish it had never happened, and I'm glad Ann is such a strong woman... otherwise, I'm sure she would have walked away in disgust or trauma.
I never understood why this song wasn't more popular. I remember waiting in anticipation when MTV had the world premier of this video on its upcoming schedule, back when they did such things.
@BClarke I am also surprised the song didn't do very well. It is hard rock which was dominating the airwaves at that time, and had a decent video. Unfortunately this whole album tanked badly.
cute part is anns sisterly instict kicks in when she graqbs nancy even though they are acting i love these girls and there band theres no one like them
@christyjime1 Not enough people bought their albums in '82 and '83, so they lost their record deal and were reconstructed as a power ballad hit making machine in 1985. It was either make pop records as instructed or get a day job.
This is an essential, "unsung" Heart song and a particular favorite of mine. Passionate, smooth, and rockin'. Outstanding quality A/V for this video. Thanks!

I think it's a case of the video killing the radio star... bad custom designer, bad director, bad hair, but rocking song....
