  • It's astounding, life force fleeting.

    Directions take their toll.

Now listen closely, not for very much longer,

    Simon, sidestep to your left!

  • Spellcasting: Y O U S U C K

  • its the first original game griefer

  • every kid on this show always looked like they were trying to hide an embarrassing secret boner

  • Spellcasting 'S-P-AHHHHHHHHHH'

  • How the hell did the host of the show in the chair keep his composure? I would have laughed my ass off.

  • Spellcasting! M-O-R-O-N-I-C-P-I-L-L-O-C-K

  • spellcasting D-U-M-B-A-S-S

  • whats worse is that he does it twice, i bet they kicked the shit out of him

  • why does every kid on this show looked unbelievably awkward?

  • 1:02 Treguard facepalm!

  • spellcasting D-O-N-K-E-Y-S

  • If Treyguard hadn't stepped in, maybe squeaky would've still continued on with the directing and told him to sidestep the correct way.

Ah what the hell! They were an absolutely shite team anyway. They needed help for just about every single room beforehand, and Ariadne would've finished them off in no time.

  • hahahahaahaa

  • A fine human contender for this contest: extinctionfactor[dot]wordpress[dot]com/

  • The kid in the green took that like a king considering his mate's ignorance had just cocked up all their work

  • That monk looks like Christopher Biggins. Is it Biggins?

  • Simon and his mates must have watched this 3 times

  • It's funny 'cos they're Welsh

  • Ooh, nasty

  • The kids voice at 0:35 is priceless. I thought it was a bizarre goblin I'd forgetten about.

  • @ursie1986 A grrrey room which has-two-doors-at-theendufiit!

  • Wow, who knew brits couldn't tell left from right?

  • ABSOLUTE CLASSIC XD!

  • i used to think they really died in there.

  • @headlockboy Naw, just their dignity.

  • Spellcasting: R-O-F-L-C-O-P-T-E-R

  • Just love how Tregard just has his head in his hand just after the kid sidesteps as if he's looking at the team and laughing 'you dumb bastard'.

  • @DanteCorwyn I think he actually did a Captin Picard style Face Plam

  • @FridaLaReina Not me thankfully.

Look on the bright side, the enjoyment of Knightmare for me, as a kid, was tempered by the fact that it was terrifying to a 7-8 year old haha.

  • That's what you get for going on an English game show, if he'd been in Wales it would of been 2 "Baa's" for left and 1 "Baa" for right, no mistakes then ^^

  • ah the benefits of a valleys education!

  • WHAT WAS HE THINKING!?

  • spellcasting E-P-I-C F-A-I-L

  • such a classic

  • Disspell

    O-S-R-D-H-U

WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SPELL YOU STUPID PILLOCK

  • wow! look how high those trousers are at the end!

  • GAMESHOW GARBAGE should INDUCT THIS MOMENT IN KNIGHTMARE INFAMY.

  • Looks like gravity + Pure utter retardiness wins again

  • Left...no, your OTHER left!

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUU....

  • BWAHA! What a dafty!

  • I like how the death skull enters through the right door...

  • @corjonbett You mean left door.

  • I'm so sharing this on youtube. Lmao

  • "So much for Welsh wizardry, Master."

  • Haha the guy that starts talking at 0:38. What a voice.

  • ha ha ha ha ha, my driving instructer didnt know his right from his left, made things quite difficult, lol

  • When I was a kid, this show was seen by the majority of kids at school as an old, cheesy show that only looser nerds would watch. Well me and 2 of my friends secretly loved to watch repeats of this show and I thought the quote "Simon, side step to your left" would only ever be an inside joke between me and those 2 friends. This show had such a bad rep that if we said this quote, the three of us would laugh but be too embarrassed to tell our classmates where it was from, especially girls.

  • What a bloody idiot. Yeah, go left.

  • They were always Geordies on Knightmare.

  • @gullivera what's a Geordie?

  • @TheYella20 A Geordie is someone who comes from Newcastle, in the North East of England, if you listen to the kids accents of the kids in this clip, thats a Geordie accent, in the majority of Knightmare episodes the kids were always Northerners from various places, I just thought it was interesting. I guess it was filmed up there, I can't ever remember any Southern kids on there, lol!

  • @gullivera It was filmed at Anglia Studios in Norwich. And the kids on the episode I've just watched were from Witney in Oxfrdshire hehe.

But yeah there are a lot of northern kids on the show for some reason. Though these kids are definitely welsh, and not geordie :-).

  • @TheYella20 Actually, I need to correct myself on a second listening, that is a Welsh accent, not a Geordie accent. Also, on watching the WHOLE clip, I notice Pickle mentioning Welsh wizardry. Sometimes if you don't listen carefully, you can confuse the two accents. Well I do anyway.

  • @gullivera Well no matter what part of the UK they recruited these kids from, it seams to be one of the less educated parts

  • @TheYella20 South Fuckheadshire, if I'm placing the accents correctly.

  • @gullivera these guys are welsh are they not?

  • @peacefrog1916 Yes, if you read my later comment, you'll see I corrected myself. ;-)

  • The boy in the grey shirt sounds like the characters from Fireman Sam!

  • @sec0ndevolution OMG yes! Norman Price?? XD hilarious!

  • @pikachudansen I'm so glad someone else got that reference! I don't look crazy now. ^^

  • Never listen to the Welsh. It never ends well...

  • if they had the gall to bring this back it would work better if they do the show without any delayed movement as in a live gameplay

  • @NatterV2 I honestly don't think they could improve on the timing much more today (maybe a bit) it was most likely human timing then a lack of technology. You have to admit it's impressive how quick the animators would be able to do effects that made the kids interact with the graphics ALMOST live. Think about all the effort and work it took to do any kind of graphics with computers back in those days, and to incorporate real people who interact with the digital environments almost live as well.

  • LULZ. I remember watching this show, and laughing hysterically. XD Bet that kid who told Simon to move to the left got teased horribly afterwards.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my gosh, this was so long ago...

But still hilarious. "Simon, sidestep to your left." Dipstick...

  • Apparently the producers were TRYING HARD to let this team win, but they still mucked up.

  • ROFL!! What--A--Twat! Ha! xD

  • So much for welsh wizardry master.

  • Has anyone ever wondered why the other teammates didnt yell out, "NO! NO! NO!" after the kid said, "Move to your left"?

  • Bet the kid who couldn't tell his left from right got some grief.

  • "Uh Simon, could you grab that sword and stick it into your chest? Brilliant!"

  • xD How hard is it to distinguish right from left after grade two?

  • Oh man...

I could watch this all day.

The kid in the red shirt can't tell right from left, the one in the yellow has a voice that make me laugh every time. And of course the impatient one in the green shirt with a look on his that could kill

    This will never get old.

  • Perhaps the guy in the red shirt didn't like Simon?

  • Spell casting U-T-H-I-C-K-T-W-A-T.

  • @elbeanboymanchester

    Spellcasting I-N-D-U-C-T-T-H-I-S-T-O-G-A-M-E-S-H-O-W-G-A-R-B-A-G-E

  • I bet those kids never muddled up their left and right again after that.

  • Funny you say that - after I saw this at the age of 7 I never had to think about which was way left and which was right. I just remembered which direction Simon fell after they told him to step left and that's all I needed. So in a way their mistake was my education!

  • sheesh, that teams' "directions" are so awful, it's no wonder we Welsh are shown in such a bad light... buncha Douches (The Team)

to quote Ackbar; "our directions cannot withstand Stupidity of that magnitude."

  • pwwnneeddd!

  • **chuckle-chuckle-chuckle-chuckle**

  • FAIL!!

  • Spellingcasting: Know my left from my right

  • Spellcasting F-U-C-K O-F-F

  • Ooohhh.....nasty....

Poor Simon if only your Advisor should know the difference of "Left and right" i bet their eyes been blinded....

  • The guy in the yellow shirt has the most horrendous, pubic, welsh voice i've ever heard, he sound like that dude from postman pat.

  • Brilliant - it's great to think that since this episode these guys have been through school, grown up, got careers and families, and desperately tried to forget about the time they couldn't tell left from right on national television 21 years ago....but now cos of the wonderful invention that is youtube, we get to see them making dicks out of themselves on TV once again, HAHAHAHA!!!!

  • @SatansAnus666 Can you imagine? Bet this incident gets dragged out every time they meet someone who was around at the time. "Hey guys, remember that time you fucked up on Knightmare cuz you couldn't tell left from right?" Lulz.

  • red dude is a dick

  • Spellcasting: D-E-A-D! Whaddya know, it worked! XD

  • Ha ha, I remember watching this and all that was said in school the next day was "sides step to your left" absolute classic this!!!!

  • How high are the trousers on that bloke in the yellow?

  • That mistake still makes me laugh

  • I always LOL

  • LOL I wonder if they ever spoke to him again after that.

  • My god was this really nearly 20 years ago?

  • Side step to the left toward your impending doom!!

They obviously don't know their left from their right!

    Doh! LOl

  • Also what the hell was up with the other mateys voice ???, sounded like he had the voice of a 80 year old man who smoked 80 a day

  • Haha loved that show, used to love dungeons and dragons and the like. By the way did you hear the fool in red say at 28 seconds or so "i was gonna get him round the table" haha in an attempt to get out of trying to send him left once he stood up from the chair LOL, loved how his mate beside him just brushes it of by giving him proper directions, that guy should have guided him.

  • What an idiot. They should have gagged him after his previous cockup.

P.s. Where is Knightmare set if Wales is to the west?

  • Most likely Norwich, as that's where it was filmed. :)

  • Makes sense.

  • ROFL

  • CRY HAVOC, AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR!

  • Haha! This was such a playground catchphrase.

  • It's Pickle's hand over his mouth and Treguard's little chuckle that gets me!

  • I just noticed it. I see what you mean LOL

  • HA HA HA!

    OH WOW

  • EPIC FAIL!

  • love how he trys to justify his first mistake.....oh i was just trying to get him round the chair, lol

  • Comment removed

  • Failure on an epic scale.

  • Hilarious!

  • lol is all I can say! XD

  • AMAZINGLY DREADFUL! :D

  • WTH Was he thinking? Left? LEFT? THERE'S A BIG NOTICABLE HOLE! XD

  • XD Wow. The kid who was giving directions should have been shot for that. Leading someone to their death is not good teamleader qualities

    Spellcasting: M-O-R-O-N-S

  • hahaha! That was one huge brainfart! Stuff like Knightmare made me think videogames were the future :)

  • How much swearing had to be edited out, I wonder?

  • There's a fan website somewhere that I looked at - someone actually tracked down Treguard and interviewed him (in a cafe :-). One of his memories was of some Jewish kids who were very polite, but during play they apparently cursed like sailors!

  • Ahh, Gideon and his pals in Series 8, Gideon would get worried really easily and start spraying obscenities everywhere at crucual moments.

  • This is so epic I feel like telling a friend to sidestep to the left, and I'm 22 for fuck's sake.

  • I remember how at school when any of my mates or myself made a monumental blunder we described it as "Guiding Simon" lol (eg I think one of my friends jumbled up what he was saying in a presentation we were doing to the class. Finally I couldn't take the pain any more pulled my head out of my hands glared at him and said "You're Guiding Simon, here!" XD Most of the class erupted into laughter.

  • Spellcasting D U M B A S S E S

  • What? Side-step to the left? When there's a fucking hole as plain as day there?! WHAT?! ...What? WHAT?!

  • I'd love to know what happened to the lad who said "Sidestep to your elft" after the show was over? I bet he wasn't popular.

    Eejit!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Haha i remember that

  • How the FUCK did they think of having Simon step to his left when there is clearly a pit right there?!

  • Retard.

    That was funny tho.

  • I think the death where they walk up the Fire Exit was funnier

  • Quality!

  • hahahah lmao epic direction fail

  • Apparently the guy who said 'left' was beaten up by his 'mates' shortly after this was filmed and had to have his jaw replaced with a metal plate. It was in the papers at the time.

  • Question is, did they use a left hook?

  • LOL very good!

  • What? Seriously?

  • Yeah - and to be honest it was very unlikely that they would have won anyway even if he hadn't messed that up! Kids can be cruel.

  • "That's what we call the 'Silly Bastard'"

("By the way, what is spooning?")

  • Very amusing death, made more so by the poor navigation that went on before. The block 'n' tackle was a very dangerous room - any carelessness or hesitation meant game over. This room and the corridor of blades where the best! I felt sorry for these guys really, they seemed absolutely gutted.

  • Spellcasting O W N E D

  • NO NO NO

    D E N W O

    phew

  • Wow. Treguard has some witty comebacks to that weird... sausage man.

    "What is rugby?"

    "Well, it- it's a game."

Great segway to get from welsh idiots dying to a new player entering, guys.

  • oh my god this used to be on fridays after school, used to watch it with a bag of penny sweets. the good old days

  • "Simon, look out for the giant hole to your left, in the meantime, take a sidestep to the left for the hell of it... Oooh, did I do that?" That's an instant classic, lol.

  • Fucking excellent! Haha.

  • How the hell Treguard did not say "ooooohhhh dipshit" to this day still defies me.

  • lmao

  • Spellcasting D-I-P-S-H-I-T

  • "Heh, You were never very good at maneuvering, were you..."

    I love that man.

  • Should have written L and R on his hands with a marker pen. Problem solved.

  • He did, but they were written on the wrong hands.

  • This stuff can happen quite often.

  • I wonder where these guys are now.

    Fucking epic.

  • i think they are all MP's in london...

  • Yep. And now they haven't got a bloody clue what direction to take the country in.

  • welsh ppl are awesome ^^ but i think he did that on porpose as revenge for something :P woaw i sense a spell coming up!- BE AR EEH AY KAY AY ELL EEH GEE... -pphhssooo-
  • theyre gna kick fuck out of him on way home

  • lmao

you can just imagine what his friends are saying on the train home.

"why the fuck would you say sidestep left you dumb prick, dont you know left from right, fuck it, you're out of the gang"

  • spellcasting; LOL NOOBS

  • Spellcasting:

    Y-O-U F-A-I-L

*cough.* Now, let's move on from that stupid joke that's been done a thousand times, and say that these kids should have won something for a fail that epic. Seeing how the only difference from a winner and a loser, matirial wise, was a "silver" coster, they probably couldn't buy something for the losers.

Not that that's a bad thing. It gave 'em more money to make new trap rooms. :D

  • YOUR. OTHER. LEFT.

  • Falling?

    And

    It's

    Laughable!

  • LMAO what a dickhead.

  • oh how funny - i cant stop laughing ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

  • That's at least six different kinds of fail right there.

  • Lets see:

    FAILURE of navigation.

    FAILURE of direction.

FAILURE of knowing your left from right.

    FAILURE of team selection.

    FAILURE of leadership.

    FAILURE of the english language.

    FAILURE of team work.

    FAILURE of keeping your cool.

    FAILURE at life.
