The thing is, Kobe probably never got a real look at the basket for this shot. He probably just looked at his surrounding, realized he was near the free throw line, and threw the shot based on that knowledge.

You need to have taken thousands of shots from that area alone to be able to take a shot based (almost) completely off of feeling and knowledge of the area you were at.

That is dedication and heart. It's something that allows Kobe to hit so many game winners, regardless of the defense

I was at this game with my friends for my birthday. When the celtics took the lead on a late Ray Allen 3, my buddies and i all looked at each other and said the same thing: "Kobe's getting the ball, and Kobe's going to get his shot." Only a few athletes ever reach that level, when everyone in the building knows you're going to shoot it, and you bury the shot anyways.
