I haven't played it much but what i like so far in 2k9 is the comentary ,it is so fluent, also the presentation is great you feel like you are watching a match on TV, intermission reports? Wow just great :). The thing i dislike are the animations, they are kind of clunky. The controls are a bit wierd but you get used to it and the hits are not that powerful like in 09. I am a fan of EA's NHL ever since 02 but i got to give some small credit to the guys at 2k for their try,they will improve ;) !

I think this game is more an "fun" game, NHL 09 is a game that i play more serious with, like big tournaments/long seasons. WIth this i just play Quick Matches and pond,SO and mini rink.

NHL 09 is absolutely the better game. I'd say though you should try the EA sports ones if you havn't. If you like the 2k sports ones better, than you would probably like 2k9 more. But 9 out of 10 people say that NHL 09 is way better. I think it hands down is. but it's just opinion really.

NHL 2K8 I do have. It kind of got boring after 2 games, but it didn't suck that bad. The only reason I kept playing was because of the hard checking and fights! Other then that 2K hockey sucks ass! NHL 2K9 is just like 2K8 so I'll get it I guess. The fights are awesome. If they make one I probably won't get NHL 2K10 though. That would be gay if it was the same. I'm not going to get anymore 2K sports unless they are like insanely awesome. EA rocks! I wasted my money on NBA 2K8. This year 2K sucks

I played both NHL 09 and 2K9 just to see which is better. I tell you NHL 09 is sooo much better, more innovative controls nicer graphics 2K9 just feels like a ps2 game and although fighting is more realistic and better than the 3 punch tekken stlye NHL09 NHL is far far better.

i was always a 2K fan but when i played 09, shit man, it made me realize that 2K hasn't really developed at all in gameplay. while 09 made improvements on almost EVERY aspect of the game. commentaries are amazing, graphics are also great, the physics and gameplay are unbelievably realistic. i mean, damn.. i'm sick of pressing square to shoot the puck. they've used that since the PS1. when i can score 10 goals in 2 periods you know 2K Sport's doing something wrong with the game.

i downloaded both the nhl 09 and this demo. i played the nhl 09 demo for maybe 5 minutes before trying 2k9 and i didnt even finish the demo before i went back to playing 09. 2k9 is absolutely terrible IMO. too many wack controls and gameplay kinda drags. the video intro is pretty sweet and i saw a fighting video that looked way better than 09s fights. 09 is way better though.

This looks to be the worst 2k NHL game in a while. At least there was some competition between EA and 2K but I just can't see 2K coming close this year. Fighting is the only decent feautre. As far as I am concerned the video opening is silly considering if you play a season or two or trade a way those video players it makes it just stupid.
