Thos are all things you need to work for in SWG. you dont get them just right off the bat. and it shows that you have some sort of skill at the game. and to become a jedi you had to play the game for months and then maby you can be a jedi. wich was perfect.
@thelasthallow clearly you have no idea what you talking about. One you may start off as a jedi yes, but you don't start out ubber powerful. Like Kotor 1 or 2, you start off with very limited abilities, also like Kotor 1 and 2, it takes anywhere from 6-10 hours before you even get your first lightsaber. So you don't just start off swinging your lightsaber. You actually have to progress your characters story before you recieve it. Also they said they are going to expand the Space combat
@thelasthallow They're basing off their experience with Kotor not SWG since they were the company that made Kotor 1, one of the most successful Star Wars games, as well as arguably the greatest Star Wars game of all time. And this isn't a sandbox game, it's a themepark game similar to WoW and Rfit so you can't look at it like a sandbox game. They are about story, and no one wants to spend months trying to become a full fledge jedi. Thats the truth.
That however doesn't mean there are not things that a player has to work for. One you have to really work as a crafter to be able to make the top gear in the game.
Also in terms of the Jedi and Sith class, you have to make certain decisions and follow a certain path in order to recieve titles like Master or Darth. They are earned and not everyone will be able to recieve those titles. And that is at the end of you class story which in of itself is 200+ hrs gameplay

You can only learn one of the skills in crafting you can't learn them all so you need other people if you want to be competitive economically. Again it sounds like you want a sandbox experience. If that is the case then I'm sorry this game is not for you. Me and majority of other people do not want a sandbox experience, we want a full fledged cinematic experience, and I for one do not want to spend months trying to get a jedi.

@thelasthallow Yeah...I think it's just you that has this view....90% of the games Bioware has released have been a major hit. The other 10% being DA2, but that wasn't a bad game just a down grade from it's predecessor. Bioware is the leading RPG developer in the US, sure there are some great Asian developers, but they way they make their RPGs a very different from the way Bioware does it. Also Bio's stories are by far the best, but this is just my opinion.
@HirumaYoruGaming Ive been reading this in the lastest 5 years with every new mmorpg release... and I doubt any new mmorpg will kill WoW.. WoW is killing itself slowly (until Blizzard decides to do the final touch if this ever happens). And btw any new mmorpg now and in the future will reach the WoW numbers (developers know this) basically 'cos times have changed, players have changed, community has changed. @BertytheSnowman they haven't given a release date but there is a subtle hint on wen it comes out. Bioware is working with another company (can't think of it at the moment) that is developing mouse keypads and headsets specifically for the old republic. The company said they are going to release their product simultaneously with The Old Republic, and they said they are planning on releasing the set pieces in November. So chances are game is coming out in November. Remember NOT CONFIRMED YET!
@Mountaind3ws well when you think about WoW like this. 3 expansions and the game is still the same. I mean once you reach max level there is nothing more but dungeons, raids and pvp over and over again. They said cataclysm would change wow completely but i think it didnt change anything. You're still doing the same things as in the previous expansions. They should add something completely new to the end game content to make it more interesting at least in my opinion.
So.... we got a whole 3 fans reaction to it... quite the sampling audience.. hahaha jus playin I agree with them 100%. this game is going to rock the mmo market and I think it should dethrone WoW without a problem.. which is something I definitely want to see because Blizzard has let the game go to SHIT in recent years

I tried out some of those one time and a game where you have to search every tile of floor (often literally)
