Thank you! I don't currently have the 3D model available for download, but I am thinking about releasing it. When I do I will let you know. And no, there are no scenes of the actual, physical toy in the video. It's all CGI from start to finish. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for writing!
Thank you again! This model is closer to the actual toy than any of the others I'd built over the years and the original engines do look better than the ones on my previous versions. Thanks for taking the time to leave comments on both of my StarBird videos. I'm glad you liked them.
Loving the starbird evolution. Your mesh is ace. Never had one of these when I was a kid but my 4yo has the green tank thing which we picked up from a charity shop. We did have big trak at school though. Befor it got sidelined for turtles on various 8bit acorn electrons. Top work
No "Total Access" yet? Are your video making days over, or has time to do them been scarce as of late? It would be nice to see something new, no matter how short and sweet it might be, but I'll understand if you just aren't able to for now.
Thanks for asking, DanJ30. Yeah, it has been a while since I posted any new videos. "Total Access" has been sidelined by other projects, but I'll hopefully be able to get back to it soon. I really appreciate that you took the time to write. I'll have some new stuff to post soon.
Your videos are great - very old school scifi ships never look so good. But I love your starbirds. When I was young many moons ago, I played with mine and pretend it was 4 different ones with fighters on board. Nicely done. keep it up and keep the fleet flying high
Thanks, vegas! I'm really enjoying the repsonse I'm getting from fans of the StarBird. I'm glad I can help rekindle so many fond childhood memories. Thanks for writing!
OMG! I remember that toy. My buddy down the street had one (except his was from a 2nd hand store and didn't have the two wing ships or the turret on the back). I remember thinking it was one of the coolest toys I had ever seen and kept trying to get him to trade it to me for something.
Just about anyone who saw that toy wanted one. It took me a few years to finally acquire one of my own. Glad you liked the video. Thanks for taking the time to write.
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked this video, and that it evoked those fond memories. That's why I built the 3D model. "Playful wonder" is what it's all about!
What a nice ship and video! It would of been cool to have that toy. I wonder what the StarBird crew looks like? Needless to say I look forward to "StarBird Mark VII: Total Access".
It was, and is, a very cool toy. As for the crew, they look like, well...fighter pilots for the most part. "Total Access" will be along sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for writing!
It's an honor to hear from the man who designed that wonderful toy! Your work has been a true inspiration for me. Thank you so much for taking the time to write.
I loved the StarBird as a kid, and I love this video, the only thing that would have made it perfect would have been to have made the flight control voiceover sound more garbled like it's being heard over crappy head mikes. Well done.
Thank you very much! I've heard from a number of StarBird enthusiasts via my videos here. The impact that toy had (and still has) continues to amaze me. Thanks for taking the time to write.
Excellent design - do you have the 3d model for sale or download? I thought it was a repainted toy comped in in some parts - was It?
A++

This was a lot of fun -- brings out the kid in me concerning the glory days of cool spaceships that evoke the sense of toys and playful wonder.

Nice again. If you add this code &fmt=18 onto the end of the link the quality improves even more.
JackTraven2525 3 years ago
Thanks for the tip, Jack! I'll give it a try, but how does it work?
buckaroohawk 3 years ago
Copy the code and paste it on the end of the current address bar link for the video. Then press go or refresh. It shows the video in higher quailty.

I'll be darned...it does work! Amazing what one little line of code can do. Thanks again, Jack!
