  • how come no new posts for a year? you guys stop making this show? :(

  • peter was going to say "you're such a jew" to alex when he said he dispose his comics

  • hey what did u guy edit out at the beginning when Alex was taking about the "Sightings" branding that DC is doing?

  • ed benez.

that's the only reason i'm still picking up JLA.

  • Pete, Justin and Alex will never let you get a word in. Beat them with axe handles until they submit.

As for art. Good art is good, bad art is bad. Is it high art on the level of the greats like da Vinci? Hell no! But done well and it's no less enjoyable and that's what matters most.

  • Art TOTALLY matters in the comics media. Good art isn't necessarily poses or crosshatching. Good art tells a story through mood, pace, and character identification. If all this fits even close to the writer's vision, then I would say the art was a success. Then you can consider a particular artists' style ("Style" meaning "flaws"). Comparing traditional art forms to comic art is almost pointless because for the past 100 or so years comics IS a traditional art form. Its all over pop culture. :)

  • the art in x-force is amazing

  • Nice one.

  • Art isnt that important unless it really sucks and it bothers me to the point I have to drop the title.

  • great show as usual guys

  • holy shit...there was an edit cut in there...wtf...NO EDITS!!! lol

  • Haha i love Magic the Gathering, and i would also like to see Divided we stand as an ongoing.

  • There are a LOT of cats out there in comic book art land that aren't really trying to move the medium forward. They're just trying to get stuff done.

I'm a huge fan of cats like Travis Charest, who makes page after page of delicious lines (albeit slowly), but I also have an admiration of the cats that want to service the story rather than making the art central (Dave Gibbons or Will Eisner is a good reference point).

At the end of the day, it's the art that makes it a comic book.

  • sporanos?

  • right, question!

i'm a big fan of some of the art in comic books, especially alex maleev's work on daredevil and mighty avengers, but what i was wondering was if you ever picked up a comic book, just because of the artist, and if so, what artists do you like and why?

thas all, says James for St.Andrews, Scotland

  • YOU ARE WRONG!

  • This is awesome! I think comic book art is the best medium. Look at some of the stuff Ross belts out.

  • Second!
