  • If you want a kitchen knife as sharp as a straight razor, these are the ones. I've had the pleasure of seeing one of Bob's custom knives in person, and they're magnificent.

    I have one of the Shun/Kramer knives, but I may have to get one of the new carbon line as well, just for the insane edge.

  • @mjkobb I've always been a fan of Kramer after visiting Beautiful Blades' Master Smith collection up in NY and seeing one of his 10 inch Chef's knives with Desert Ironwood Burl. I didn't bite on Shun's Kramer series because I'm not a big fan of SG2 (very brittle, and doesn't take well to a strop), but I have a lot of experience with 52100 (mostly from Swamp Rat knives). Just bought the 8 inch Chef's knife today, can't wait to put that baby on the Shaptons and see what she can do.
