This is good, but people don't be deceived, King James was no Christian man, he was an evil politician like them all. Also, the Geneva Bible was in 1560 one of the first ones in English!
A lot of bull here. There were english translations before Wycliffe. And King James wasn't exactly a protestant in a modern sense; he was an Anglican Catholic...
Confused by King James being credited with the first translation. Tyndale translated it far before then in the time of Henry the 8th, and died for doing so.
@Rhuanjl -- certainly the KJV as an English translation came much later, 1611 whereas the Geneva came 1560 at least, and Wycliffe's NT even earlier. Thanks Rhuanjl.
As it turned out, printing the book for popular use was a big mistake for the church, as people could now see the contradictions, lies, and obvious errors such as: -humans are made of dirt. -snakes and donkeys talk. -insects have 4 legs. -bats are birds. -the earth is flat. -the sun revolves around the earth. -animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman. Big mistake. If the parts we can verify are false, how can we rationally rely upon the parts that are not verifiable?
@Imaginefree69 Its a matter of faith. All the elements in the human body are found in the dust. The serpent was called that because of his cleverness not species. I guess God could make a donkey that could talk. As for insects walking on all four this is correct. The grasshopper or locust has back jumping legs but walk on the front 2 pair. Bats fly, I am not going to leave faith because they are grouped with other flying creatures.Isaiah refers to the circle of the earth. Out of comment space.
@pjohnstonsr " Its a matter of faith" Right. That's what you have to use when the thing you choose to believe is contrary to nature, reason, and the data. There's simply no purpose to be served in continuing this conversation. There is no evidence or fact I can show you that will make the slightest difference to your belief. Religion begins with a conclusion and seeks data to support it. Science follows the data to a truthful conclusion. Adios, pj.
@Imaginefree69 I certainly respect your opinion. If I am wrong and you are right I will never know it. On the other hand if I am right some day you may have to face the fact that you missed the whole purpose of life. I believe I have lived a life that has helped others, shown kindness, and yes honored my Creator. It has not been a bad life at all! I am genuinely happy. Much of what science said fifty years ago is not true today. Be careful not to put too much faith in science.
The Word is Pope, and the 1st one was ordained by Jesus, and that was St Peter Matt 16:13 English Kings are not of god , They are of the world. and speaking of pedophiles , James was a very famous one. I'lll take the apostle james who said that faith without Works is Dead over your Heretic king
True, it took a long time for the people to give up the Geneva. But gradually, God turned the hearts of the people to his perfected work...authorized by a king....for the King of Kings.
Latin was the language of Rome in the days of Julius and Nero Caesar, and the New Testament was recorded by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, James, Peter and Jude in Koine Greek.
No one anywhere spoke Latin as a native language after 1200 AD. Benny XVI, however, gets his title "Pontifex Maximus" (in Latin) by virtue of his succession to Nero, who (like Julius Caesar) was a Roman pagan priest engaging in idolatry, wjm7259.
The translators of the King James Bible knew all of that, also.
ECC 8:4 "Where the word of a king is, there is power". Romans 13:1 Ro:13:1: "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God". Got that? Papist? There are no poops in the bible. Your RCC is full of lies, homosexuals and pedophiles.
didn't you know that Baptists existed before the English puritans because the Baptists are not protestants and the Baptist church at that time didn't used the name Baptist yet..
Tyndale and Wycliffe are Baptists they were baptized in Wales...
William Tyndale translated the New testament into English in 1525.
In fact many of the scholars today believe that such is the case with Joan Bridgman who makes the comment in the Contemporary Review "He[Tyndale] is the mainly unrecognised translator of the most influential book in the world. Although the Authorised King James Version is ostensibly the production of a learned committee of churchmen, it is mostly cribbed from Tyndale with some reworking of his translation."
William Tyndale made his prophetic response: "I defy the Pope, and all his laws; and if God spares my life, I will cause the boy that drives the plow in England to know more of the Scriptures than the Pope himself!" Tyndale's was the first English translation to draw directly from Hebrew and Greek texts

The Bible says the earth is flat.
And that the sun revolves around the earth.
And that humans are made of dirt.
And that snakes, donkeys, and bushes talk.
And that animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman.
And you're worried about which VERSION to trust??
Wow.
