Simple Get a 2 liter bottle and bike pump. fill bottle 1/3 of the way full. stop the end of bottle. make small place to put pump in. pump air in into bottle. take pump out and release bottle. Myth tested on mythbusters. does any one know where to find the video of the chinese people lifting them selves into the air?

i cut off the tip of a water hose pipe and put the hose in the 2 liter soda bottle, and hold it for a while,a until it blows off my hand...the fun past is when the water bottle backfires and hits u really hard with water straight in the face, i think im gonna make a vid on it :D

I used to do something similar all the time by using a garden hose that had the end fitting cut off. the hose used to be a fairly nice one so was rubber coated, not the crappy vinyl and was just thick enough that if you stuffed it in a 2L bottle then pinch the hose slightly to the side it wouls seal and not release untill you let go of the hose. Just use caution.. hurts like H3LL if you get hit in the face haha. 60psi city water +/-5psi will get some nice height

i have a pump that fits right into a 2l pop bottle's end so its air tight and when it go's off it goes high!! Dont make it to airtight though since it could explode like my one did. Also make it airo dynamic by cuttin of top of one pop bottle and put it on the bottom of another. Ill make a video soon (hopefully) and showw you

We actually called the pop company to find out how many pounds of presser the bottles can stand and they said to not exceed 100 psi

Exceeding 100 psi is doable, it's just not reccomended by the company. Just be more careful with it, remember that if the bottle tears it shouldn't fragment into smaller pieces, it will mostly stay intact in one piece. It just gives a very loud bang. Check all bottles for tears and never use any hot glue near them or remove any plastic with a knife. Btw, if you want more height out of it you need to stabilize it using fins (i mostly attach them using silicon glue) and add some weight at the top.

i have tried many times to make water rockets with varied success, but i never found a reliable way of sealing the rocket and holding it back while pressurising, then releasing it cleanly.
