I think the Oak whistles are the best in their price range. I play a Burke D as well, but the Oak is really as good as you can get in the under $20 range. Nice playing, brother. Keep playing!
I am very happy to hear ALL your responses! I have that natural ability as well, but more for playing by ear and my fingers knowing where to go to get the desired notes. However, I really need work on my strikes, slides, cuts, rolls, etc. for ornamentation. I tend to get impatient with myself, so I have to stay disciplined to really master it. Also, I am thrilled to meet another believer -- one who loves the Lord and is as talented as you. Is there a way I can look you up on Facebook?
Three questions: First, what do you do to best control your vibrato when playing? I find that I can do it fine when singing, but it seems forced and potentially "goat-like" when playing the whistle. Second, do you recommend learning every song slowly, THEN increasing to normal speed once the dynamics are achieved? Third, why "apologetics man"? Is that based on Christian apologetics, perhaps (if you don't mind my asking)? Thank you and have a terrific day!
I honestly don't know how I have learned to play the way I do, it's just an ability I have naturally. I did have to mess around for a couple of years until I figured out the mechanics of the thing, but I was literally able to play songs the moment I opened the box of my first whistle. Yes, my channel is primarily Christ based, with only a few non Bible based videos I have put up. I literally and deeply believe that all who do not trust in Jesus will go to hell, so out of love, I teach Jesus
You have got some amazing skill on the whistle, my friend. I have had mine a while and am good at playing by ear, but I don't have the finesse for the strikes and so forth, and flats don't come smoothly for me like they do you (with the subtle finger slide across the hole). Any advice or tutorials you can offer?
@tealeafk I would recommend it to any player at any level. Spending hundreds of dollars on all those "special" whistles is a waste of time and money. Unless you make a living by whistle playing, and need a tunable whistle, Oak is the only choice.
wow that was amazing! if u happen to have the fingering charts to these could u tell me were to get them? or if you know the names of the jigs/reels/songs you played in this it would be very helpful.
Thanks, but sorry to say, I have never taken a single lesson or read a musical note in my life. I think I made most of this stuff up on the spur of the moment, except for the Jurasic park piece.
thats great! i cant read music either! the stuff i usually get off of the internet in those pictures with the dark holes (tells you where to set your fingers)
your amazing at what you make up! great job, i cant wait to see what your gonna do next!
very nice! i just bought the same kind of pennywhistle. i haven't gotten it yet...i just ordered it yesterday hehe. hopefully i'll be able to play it decently.

@CrazedSpartania Jesus is God, and He proved it by dying on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago and coming back from the dead.
