  • GOD BLESS Robert Clary for finding solace in his acting & overcoming such Horror! This doccumentary should be shown in high schools EVERYWHERE!

  • MR. CLARY WITH RESPECT DO U KNOW WERE I CAN GET A BOOK FROM U OF WHAT UR EXPERIENCE. IF U GIVE ME PERMISSION PLS SIR MAY I FORWARD THIS TO MY RABBI.

  • @liberal20111 If you google Robert Clary, his official site is the first link to come up. You can ask him for an autographed book there.

  • I think Hogan's Heroes was a chance for many of the actors to let a bit of their horrbile memories behind.

  • this is really touching. i've ordered his bio too. it was really bad what has happened. hogans heroes is much more of a comedy show than anything compareable to what people went trough. don't get me wrong but i still laughted kinda often watching hogans heroes. rgds, chris

  • PLease correct me if im wroung, but isn't Werner Kempler (Klink) and John Banner (Schultz) from Hogan's Heroes also holocaust survivors? i thought i read that somewhere before

  • Yes and no. Werner Klemperer's father was Jewish, and he fled Germany and took his family in 1935. John Banner's homeland was Austria, but he was in Switzerland in 1938. I think he tried to return, but wasn't allowed back in because he was Jewish. He lost his family to the camps, and I had read somewhere that he was in a camp briefly but was released (before Nazi policies changed).

  • ok thanks, i think your right, because it said in both of their proflies, something about concentration camp inmate, but idk wat to beleive, there were a few books on all 3 of them at the holocaust muesum in D.C i might pick up a few in Jaunuary when i go, thanks a lot, for correcting me

  • i also heard that the actors who played General Burkhalter and Major Hochstetter's families were also Jewish, and either fled or were interned. is this true?

  • @skitch88 check 'Hogan's Heroes' on Wikipedia(dot)com - it's a very good write up

  • @Cam6697 wener kempler served in the USA ARMY fighting the god dam fucking nazi's Shultz, General Bulcholder were taken to concentration camps werner klimper said i will play klink but if u ever make him a hero then i will walk away. howard cain major holchstiter WHO IS THAT MAN KLINK U ARE MAD when larry hovis prettends he is hitler arrest hochlester. SPEAK UP DO NOT BE SILENT SPEAK FOR THOSE WHO CANT

  • Beautiful and philosophical piece. I was in Buchenwald two years after Mr. Clary and I must say I was disgusted by the Communist approach to the history of the place. Could, perhaps, Mr. Clary return once again now that Buchenwald has been truly liberated?

  • This really made me cry

  • I wonder if this has been released on DVD? It reminds me of Maria's verse from Steven Curtis Chapman's song, "Yours." "I've walked the valley of death's shadow So deep and dark that I could barely breathe I've had to let go of more than I can bear And I've questioned everything that I believe But still even here in this great darkness A comfort and a hope come breaking through As I can say, in life or death God, we belong to you!" Thank you for posting this. God bless Israel. -Raini
