  • The reason I think it went bad so fast. Is because of its style. It changed everything kids grew up with. So, with that, the kids lost interest cause their hero doesn't match from what they remember.

  • @NikkiSavella From fantasy, they changed the theme to sci-fi with space battles. Skeletor's personality was changed to something like Mark Hamill's Joker.

  • @bursegsardaukar Ummm, that's exactly my point..... They changed "EVERYTHING" About the beloved series. Thus, loosing the interest of Kids who grew up with He-Man and confusing the other new fans.

  • Is this Anime?

  • this gave me goosebumps watching this (as i'm a 90's kid) ahhh good old memories of saturday morning cartoons.

  • was the the same voice actor from the New He-Man? hmmm

  • Ok people ,answer me this , if this show was so bad then why did it out last the 200x seriers which had 39 episodes but the New Advetures has 65

  • @BlackRaptor1900 they HAD to have 65 episodes ... Many Western cartoon series have had original runs lasting 65 episodes, because 65 episodes equals 13 weeks (or three months) of material to syndicate at one episode per weekday.

  • You can tell it's the 90's...He-Man has a ponytail.

  • This is how you ruin He Man. The animation was good, but the character designs are crap.

  • This looks god-awful. Just look at 0:00 and the dude looks like he has PIGTAILS.

  • To all those hating on this show. I say give it a chance, you might be surprised what you find. The fight animation is better and Skeletor gets a persoanlity upgrade.

  • What on Eternia is THIS!?

  • I love the 90's heman 1990 is still 80's, 1991 and above is 90's the orignal heman was gay

  • Looks like this must be bad purely because of Skeletor's design (which sucked) and the concept itself, because the animation here is much better than in the 80s.

  • I think the Skeletor of this series is an acquired taste. I kinda liked him, he was funny.

  • As different as this series was from the 80s He-Man, it does still tie itself in to the original series. They start out on Eternia and end up where ever this place was supposed to be, I forget. The Sorceress transfers Greyskull's power to a spaceship...I think...and then they fly it to this place. Or something. It's been a long time. My only point is they did make more than a token effort to tie it to the first series, no matter how oddly they did it.

  • this he-man it's the shit! There is nothing like He-Man and The Masters of the Universe original 80's

  • WHAT IS THIS CRAP???!!!! The original He-Man was (and IS) one of the coolest shows ever: what retard thought a cheap Anime rip-off could come anywhere NEAR the original's success??

80's He-Man (and for that matter, 80's ORKO) could kick this poser's butt across Eternia and back again! >:P

  • This version sucks.... :-S

  • I agree with Astraldragon1, this series sucked balls. The 2002 series was great, but the original 80's classic is where it's at.

  • Fans of the original 80's Cartoon hated this new 90's He-man. About the only thing I recall out of this cartoon was that King Randor learned Adam's secret, that he was He-man. (If I remember correctly)........the 80's and 2002 Series were far better then this one.

  • the 2002 he-man kicked ass! this piece of shit i hate!

  • By the power of Eternia?

  • This series never had a chance from fans. If there was a season 2 it would have had He-Man go back to Eternia and meet with the old cast again according to Jack Olesker who wrote the series Bible.

  • But they would have no doubt been redesigned in this cheap looking style and would have as off-base as "Teela" was in her guest appearance in this series.

  • what a crappy version this was!!! if Skellitor was smart, he would have not fallowed He-Man, and took over the universe without He-Man to stop him!!! duhhhh

  • Ever hear of a grudge?

  • This is New Adventures - a reboot of He-man and a totally separate series from the original one. It wasn't made by the same production company or anything.

There are THREE animated versions of He-Man - the early 80s original, this one (which I think was made in 1989), and the 2002 one.

  • there is 3 versions of He-Man

The Original, This suck ass, and the remake

  • this he-man sucks big time

  • Oh this is that crap one that was set in space. Geez what a mistake.

That other new one is way wicked tho.I dare say I like it even better than the original and I was born in 81 and loved He man all my life:)

  • At 30 I still have more or less the same reaction when I see this. I like overall look which seems to have a lot of anime influence, and the story changes didn't bother me so much really, but the "power of the good and the will of the magic" thing just sounds awkward, the transformation sequence into He-Man has no visual punch just like the 3-note keyboard music has no impact.

  • I love this series. It's a good alternative version of he-man. Can't believed the series was actually quite good and it was completed. I just neds to find where I can get the complete set. :-)

  • If they had only used the same style of animation, but as a kid, I saw it and said "That's not He-Man." and then ignored it, not only did they change it, they COMPLETELY changed it, it might as well be a different show. Even as an adult ignore it. shame, it could have had potential...

  • I hated this He-man show. I liked the 80's show and the 2002 show better...

  • Those were better, but I have to admit this had a nice opening, and you can't go wrong with He-Man wearing pants.

  • i use the sword to kill someone

  • He man finally weared PANTS on this ;)

  • sadly, I still have the toy sword -__-

  • It used to air on Cartoon Network TV Channel in the mid 90's..I actually liked it..specially Skeletor

  • I think i watched this Series, if im not mistaken i had the Toy Sword.

  • I did have the toy sword, i was 6

  • I think someone gave me an Annual for this and I rented a tape of it I think I remember there being a lot of ads for the new toys they were trying to sell on it

  • si salio en peru -... la pasaron en el 13 (ahora red global) igual.... nadie la veia pero la pasaban

  • OMG is she-ra still on the scene with the new adventures?

  • lol Damn I thought this was fan-made, never knew of this. As a fan I will check it out but He-man looks beyond generic. Heman looks like Street Fighter's Vega without the claw and mask. And when he's Adam he looks like a character from the bible. Why lol??

  • wtf !!! this is nothing compared to the old one , and how longs he going to say powweerrrr ?

  • Wow! Thank god I missed out on this one. This like the time Super Mario Brothers 2 came out and it was created by a Japanese company. Didn't follow the Mario Brothers storyline at all.

  • Uhm I hate to tell you this but super mario bro's was created by a Japenese company.

  • my buttcheeks flap in the breeze lol wut im black as well also pst

  • WTF I never heard of this show when did it come on. how long did it last.

  • por el poder del suck

  • why is he saying by the power of etrnia and not... BY THE POWER OF GREY SKULL!?

  • This "He-man" was created in Italy in 1990, and it is horrible.

  • Hi ...

I'm Italian - I've always been a great fan of he-man, since I was four years old ..

I hated the '90s version of he-man ... I remember that I was a child and Icould not understand how they were suposed to be brought to the future (I still can't understand it), for the new version of the cartoon. I've been very surprised reading you: are you really sure it was an italian version????

  • By the Power of Eternia...I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!!!

  • This looks horrible, I never gave it a chance I was too upset that they destroyed the real He-Man's image.

  • It was actually surprisingly good

  • I amawlays for original nothing ever beats it at least it was horrible. Except the re-make of Hairspray with John Travolta it was actually good, but the first is still better well, actually they are almost tied .

  • The cartoon came out in the 90's not the 80's and it had nothing to do with the orginal 80's He-man cartoon. oh yeah I loved the 2002 re-make He-man cartoon was great. i loved the orginal 80's he-man and the 2002 he-man cartoon, the 90's one I couldn't stand.

  • yeah , I just searched it in wikipedia an it says 1990 but I definitely remeber wathching it bejor 1990 because I saw it bejor I was 9 years old .... Its kind of strange...

  • @songokuemumania

I think the toy line for the New Adventures of He-man actually first came out in 1989

  • @Astraldragon1 Well it started in really 1989 and ended in 1990, if you watch the first episode ending credits you should see it

  • nobody should talk about the 2002 remake of he-man, EVER!, it ruined the whole idea of he-man being the most powerful man in the universe, the 2002 remakes made him "the most powerful and slightly camp man in the universe"

  • You're kidding right? You act as if the original wasn't campy... Its just built into the mythos. The 2002 remake was great it had good animation, great stories, and good character building.

  • That was ok version, but everybody liked more the Eternian struggle. I wonder did they implement these events in those cartoons made in 2002...

  • Proarbly a mixture of both, looking back at te first he-man series it was dreadful, you only watch it because of skeletor. I felt thia new adventures of he-man was missed poetional, not only was it too drastically different but skeletor?! there was nothing awesome about that skeletor in that one. That what let it down for me.

  • Yes, Skeletor from 90s version really looks like some total 100% idiot, but actually he has to eb a really smart bad guy.

  • This New He-man 90's show was terrible I grew up watching the Orginal 80's show, I did not care for or like this show. hell the 2002 He-man cartoon was better then this, lest that one stayed true to the orginal with all the characters from the orginal show and animation was great plus had better storylines.

  • i agree with you cause´i thought exactly the same!

  • to all retarded that think this is gay !!! so, maybe you are frustrated or a suffering kid, but when i was little i didn't look at his tight pants, i saw only good animation story.

  • you know....I think i remeber seeing glimpse of this show when I was little I just never knew what it was

  • WHERE'S SHE RA?

  • Wow that's gayer than being annally raped with a Liza Minelli Doll whilst watching Beaches and listening to Kylie Minogue!

  • To be honest... I don´t like this version, I prefer the version original by Filmation and the version from 2000.

  • The Original was way better. I dont even know how they even thought this would last with the ninja turtles on the rise.

  • it suck but at least they given him pants.

  • Yuck. 80s version ruled.

  • this heman is a wimp i can kick his ass the original is way better!!

  • skeletor in this remake was cool anyway

  • yep even after all these years.........this show is still GAY!

  • Could everyone just relax? You prefer whichever series you prefer. I like them both, remember watching them as a kid and a big kid. Man this was cool.

  • WTF? That skinny sword couldn't spread peanut butter on a slice of Eternia's baked bread!

  • This cartoon remake was awful. The original is the best, my favourite cartoon of all time

  • what it this crap? WTF?? I totally did not know this existed. I hate it.

  • Just like to say FUCK all the vintage He-man lovers! At least the 90's and new he-man doesnt have that gay haircut that you guys were exposed to. Faggots.

  • come oooon the 90's haircut and tight pants are even more gay than the original he man

  • lol hmm....your right! ahh well regardless of whichever one looked more gay... He-man still rocks!! I also like Conan the Adventurer :P

  • Who thinks this looks like anime? Lots of cartoons look like this, not to mention stuff like Starcom. But the intro voiceover is rubbish. :p

  • yes, it does look like anime

    i hate that.....i hate specially the 2002 remake....too much karate....lol

  • I never even heard of this new He-man but it looks sh~tty, glad I missed it growing up.

  • it was on during the early 90's and done by the same guy who did Bots Master

  • this version sucked major donkey balls

  • Although I remember well watching tbe original (and loving it), I didn't catch this one. But from this intro., maybe I was lucky. I don't like the new look, or the "anime" style.

Yes, a show can be re-imagined, but some things are just well-established.

  • Move the fuck on people. God you "purists" give REAL, OBJECTIVE, HE-MAN AND ANIMATION FANS, bad names with your immediate labelling of any reinvention as "bad"

  • it was ok it took time to get into it...i like skeletor ad them mutant he wa shack up with i lkike how he acted like his was just an alliy to lead mutant but was really skeletor was in charge

  • at least get your facts right original 130 episodes (1983).

    New show 39 episodes (2002)

Anyways what I was going too say I think they ran out of ideas on how skeletor and his gang could take down He-man so thats why it went down the tube But I will always say original over new since I am an 80's child.

  • ok...now THIS is GAY.the original series was so better.this he-man looks so emaciated.where is the bulky muscles and wht happened to the mature attitude?

...gosh..in this vid...he-man looks WEAK. :( the newest adventures are cool.

  • Idiot.

  • FTW are you talking about the original series IS gay. my name is prince adam I wear a tiny underwear and pink open shirt, "fabulous" powers were revealed to me...

  • Well, I liked it! We lived till 1989 under the communist regime, after the system changing, this was the first cartoon I saw on german TV. I didn't know the original one.

  • I despised it too. Changing He-Man's face is blasphemy, getting rid of Battle Cat is blasphemy, Giving it a high tech futuristic setting doesn't add to the fun, getting rid of most of the fantasy elements is blasphemy, animation blows as it looks like G.I. Joe, and finally making He-Man look like a military cartoon is discusting. Whoever order 65 episodes of this crap must have been that crappy UPN.

  • It was a whole new cartoon, they shook things up because the old line had had it's day and wasn't selling anymore. And I dont know why you think this looks like G.I Joe, totally different animation style.

  • "because the old line had had it's day" Key words. I suppose you could argue the stories and characters were more well thought out, but not enough effort was made to make it fun.

Maybe it doesn't look precisely like G.I. Joe, but the animation was made to look similar to animation styles that were popular in the early 90's. We ultimiately wind up with a He-Man military cartoon that is just horrible to look at.

The fact that the 2nd He-Man recreation failed is telling. Just give it up.

  • Still dont know where your getting this G.I Joe stuff from, it has a more anime influence, which is nothing like G.I Joe. And as for fun, have you actually seen an episode of the show, recently? Because your statements seem to indicate your not very familiar with it.

  • Take a look at He-Man's allies. They all look like G.I. Joe characters. Especially the elephant character. And no I haven't seen it recently. I only remember watching and hating it back when it was new.

  • Who cares if it failed? It's far more intelligent than the pile of shit second season of the 2003 series. Give up.

  • I'm sorry but the 2nd He-Man iteration was completed. and The firs He-man failed also. Remember it was cancelled.

  • Well, the first He-Man was a very good production. Very original in terms of music/songs (classic) and photography (Very Psychedelic art). I think we won´t have this kind of art anymore, today cheap productions are preferred. We will never see original ones like Galaxy Rangers, He-Man(first-one), etc.

I Think Spawn Animated series was the best I saw in last 12 years.

  • well I lived in the 80's ... I'm 28 years old and i hated this "new" hem-an.

  • It didnt go off the air very fast at all, it had 65 episodes, half of what He-Man had. Amd the toyline lasted for four years, it was actually a lot better thought out, and animated than the original show. But people continue to make ill informed statements about it.

  • People don't make ill informed statements. Just fanboys.

  • But this second one... This is horrible...
