  • Because of the layers?

  • oh yeah!this is the stuff--no rihanna or flo-rida stuff it is no coincidennce that your average 32 yr old listens to music that pre-dates them!

  • @lemnianetruscan

am 24 and i love this kind of music right the way back to the 30s and 40s and even earlier than that!!

  • @tezzakc22 Then you would be classified as a bona fide music lover! Thanks for the comment.

  • around 2:08 are simply some of the funniest and greatest lyrics in music history!

  • all the comments on this piss me off.. no, glee didn't cover the song, it was merely playing in the background so do a spot of fact checking before you go bashing it. and yeah, people are probably aware that this song existed before it was featured on glee, but in my opinion, it doesn't matter where it was used, if people are discovering good music like this song, then good.

  • LOVE IS DRUG?!!!!! OO NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So this is the original.

This was redone in the movie Sucker Punch.

  • Awesome Song ,....When i was 12 in 1977,....i hear this out in the front room ,....Torrance Ca - Never forget -

  • Roxy Musisx got Glam ad they changed it . Bryan Ferry dident look like a glam artist, and thats what i really love about it . Maby theres people that doent consider roxy music a Glam band , but i do cause of a lot of reasons . The first one is that they had Eno behind the keyboard with fether suits and eye-liner. Roxy Music is a great band

  • love the most addictive drug.........

  • I think I'm in love with The daue...What,are you on drues?...yea, and I love it

  • i like the other version in suckerpunch

  • NEVER realised it before.

TODAY ,anyhow it is more than ever plain truth: LOVE is the drug ,stupid self-destroyer!

FLUSH THE SHIT! FLUSH IT and WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MEN. Responsable MEN.!

  • Sexy song in one of the sexiest scenes from Glee

  • @frederick909 totally FREAKIN' right...

  • It's funny how all the people here reading the comments mentioning Glee think they actually covered this song lol.Blaine could have made one hell of a good job with it anyway

  • Maj 7 chord for the big finish.

  • essa musica nao é da minha laia

  • This song is groovy and I'd rather not hear it from the cast of GLEE.

  • @WakingToDreamMusic they never covered it, they just have it playing in the background during a scene

  • thanks for all the comments guys

  • @cguitar100 Thanks for your help.... so many comments so little time.

  • Check out James Pashen if you want to hear music like the old days

  • @jamespashen I might just do that.

  • I remember this song from ? 76 or later and looked it up after hearing it on a 70's internet radio station.

  • Roxy music are my drug

  • Love is like a addiction for sure, sex too. Whowants to be sick without it, or with itThe memories great band and song ,I remember when..

  • You are the single most interesting man in all of Ohio

  • @MissErinJamieson .....hmmm..... I'm from Michigan

  • @MissErinJamieson but he is nothing in Idaho

  • Thumbs up if you heard this in SuckerPunch :)

  • HELLO EVERYONE. I love this song, but IT DID ACTUALLY EXIST BEFORE GLEE.

  • @superherovince GLEE has been losing audience as more viewers realize it's inauthentic political agenda-pushing garbage.

  • @superherovince Before What!?

  • @superherovince - Oh, dear, has my #1 reason-to-renounce-my-own-homosexuality-for-fear-of-association used this song somewhere? If they made an episode with only Jane Lynch in it, I might watch, but otherwise...I didn't care for theatre and bad pop music before I came out either.

  • @superherovince no. dont tell me that happened.

  • -because of the layers?

    -BECAUSE OF THE LAYERS.

  • it's so hot in this room, can we, uh, open a window?

  • Mmm God! Roxy music makes me want to build a time machine just so I can go back to the 70's and give Bryan Ferry a high five.

  • @CRdu92

lol copy and pastes a comment from the other video. shameless

  • Why would you need a time machine to high five Bryan Ferry when he's alive and well? Hell, he just released an album this year! Stupid Glee.

  • @CoconutBuyer Really just referring to the music Ferry made back in the 70's and the creation of THAT music. He wanted to meet the Ferry of then, not now. It's really pretty simple to understand what he meant. Like, I would love a time machine to go hang out with Madonna circa 1982 even though she's alive now and still putting out music. I don't dig what she's doing now, but I loved her back then. See? Easy explanation.

  • everyone in the comments here cause of glee... not gonna lie so am i. Actually happy i got to witness Darren dancing to this.. such a great song.

  • UH, YEAH. BUT THAT'S WHY THEY INVENTED MASTURBATION...

  • @GeekStinkLaura OHLOL.

  • Comment removed

  • I think Blaine dancing to this song was my favorite part, and that kiss was so casual but anyway...

Back to the song, it's awesome !

  • god now i totally have an image of blaine rocking out to roxy music on his ipod now hahaha

  • mmm, god, roxy music makes me wanna build a time machine JUST so i could go back to the 70s and give bryan ferry a high five.

  • GLEE BROUGHT ME HERE, And to be fair, I'm glad it did, pretty cool :)

  • I was brought here by an adorable goober who was talking about inventing a time machine and traveling back in time to give Bryan Kerry a high-5 while chatting with his boyfriend. Oh, Glee.

  • Not gonna lie... I'm totally here cause I saw Darren Criss dancing to this like an adorable dork :P

  • Blaine Anderson brought me here

  • KLAINE!

  • GLEE!!!

  • just love it! It takes me back!

  • One of the few perfect songs ever. Such an influential band.

  • this was a big disco hit !!!!! 1975/76 feel the bass!

  • i love roxy music. ferry has such a sexy voice

  • Like this if you heard this first in SUCKERPUNCH.

  • This song was a hit. All over early MTV. That's enough...

  • @reissue Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  • @reissue

Was a hit in 75' but didn't crack the Top 10

    MYV didn't air till 82'

  • @generatrix999 Not sure what your point is. Artists made videos prior to MTV and MTV frequently aired videos made prior to their launch. LIAD was all over early MTV.

  • @reissue Wait, you mean MTV used to be about music?

  • @reissue It might have been all over early MTV, but it was a hit during MY adolescence in the mid-70s! LOL! Shows just how much staying power this classic has. I'll have to drag this out and dance to it with my grandson on the weekend. HA!

  • many bass guitarists(especially Blake Edwards) were inspired by this songs

  • @ColdOasisU2 Thank you for your comment.

  • @ColdOasisU2 : it is Bernard Edwards

  • @ColdOasisU2 Perhaps you mean Bernard Edwards?

  • The Bassist was John Gustafson playing on an early Wal bass. Bernard is a legend though

  • model of bass line

  • @Rakatan6666 Thanks for the vote of confidence! And of course, the comment.

  • Formed in London in 1971 Roxy Music emerge as one of the most unique of the British rock scene, with an experimental style and brave.

Hastily put the same cauldron with the glam scene of artists such as David Bowie, T-Rex and Mott the Hoople !!!

  • @AllRockClassic Thanks for the history lesson!

  • Sounds a bit like the Chili Peppers...or maybe the Chili Peppers sound a bit like this.

  • @TheJason5090 It would be The Chilli Peppers sounding like them since this was done in 75. Thanks for the comment.

  • This song is STiiiiiiLLL hot!!!.....that bass is the shit!!!!

I remember this playing at The Golden Rock Club in '79 through 5,000 watts!!!

  • @Barree77 Thanks for the comment.

  • I love this song since I watched Dave Gahan in '101' singing this, during playing pin-ball :D. Amazing.

  • @czesterczitos Thanks for the comment.

  • It would be cool if we could turn back the radio stations 30 years.. and keep it that way. ratings would go up, and everybody would remember what real music is all about.

  • 49 people are not love addicted, what a bad new !

  • @StossCrew You know the ole quote about pleasing all people......... "You can please all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot ............................................"

    Thanks for the comment.

  • @ExtremePeppers oh...hell...yes! cool enough for windows down, good enough stereo to cut the wind, only thing better would be just before sunrise about 50 miles west of Tucumcari westbound....magic music, magic place

  • Comment removed

  • @ExtremePeppers holy shit that was me!!!

  • My name is Roxy Haha!!!

  • ooohh...is that the faint crackle of vinyl i hear??? :D hard to believe this was produced in the 70s. This band was so ahead of it's time. <3

  • @Duma39 on the radio spring of 1976 when I graduated from high school,,,From the 1975 Album Siren,,,with Jerry Hall, who was seeing Bryan Ferry at the time, on the cover as a mermaid

  • @probinson1337 Excellent~ :-) I sort of feel about albums as I do about books. There's something about the aesthetic value of opening a new album- the smell of vinyl, the crisp sound on the turntable... the smell of a new book when you open it and cracking the spine just a little to break it in- these things are all lost with technology.

  • BRYAN FERRY SOBERBIO HACES LA MUSICA CN LOS OJOS CERRADOS UN GENIO TU

  • Waaaay ahead of their time.

  • Damned fine bass indeed

  • f*** risky

  • Love this song, brings back buko memories!!

  • Im 2 days old and this was the song that played when I came out of my mother's womb, I remember it like it was yesterday, Please dont mock me by thumbing me up because I cannot yet use my own pair.

  • Great groove. John Gustafson gets so little credit for his bass work on Roxy's early albums.

  • 1977-1981 KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS IN CLEVELAND HEIGHTS. PLENTY OF ROXY MUSIC ON THE JUKE BOX. WE RULED THE ROOST THERE. SO I'LL HELP MYSELF TO ONE MORE DRINK.

  • Ohh - ohh - catch that buzz! Roxy's music is timeless.

  • what is this? i love this sound.

  • Thumbs up if Sucker Punch brought you here.

  • I have "Siren" on vinyl. Yes!

  • Sing along boys and girls - Just follow the bouncing spike ! " Aggr-o-vated,....spare for days .."

  • This is a really good song. take it from an old rock dude of 61

  • Casino Soundtrack.

  • For all those wondering what the small box is in the bottom right hand corner @ 0.10s that is an Audio Tape!

    Great bloody track.

  • Leave aside that IV I is the most common chord progression, this song almost exactly corresponds to "cuz I love you" by Slade

  • @sieteocho really is that a good song to

  • this is so 80s . it s awesome

  • @tailoredplus It's from 75

  • !978-1979? (Things got a little blurry back then) Masonic Temple Detroit. It was billed as Bryan Ferry but of course there was plenty of Roxy Music.

  • @rhastaman1960 ahhh, being from Detroit I know the Temple well! Thanks for the comment!

  • I liked Ke$ha's version better...

  • The one line "I say go" sounded almost like "Icicle."

But does anyone notice how similar the instrumental part sounds to that of R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion"? Irrespective thereof, I lean towards this number hands-down.

  • @wmbrown6

I always thought the words were "I say coke, she say yes." Well, it was the 70s. :D

  • @ktmggg LMAO

  • never thought I'd like bryan ferry

my dad likes him too and as a kid I used to hate his music :p

  • @nikolasmaes99 You were stupid as a kid. Now you are an adult.

  • @nikolasmaes99 my dad likes roxy music too, and i grew up listening to their music !.

  • @Bethfromwigan you dont have much choice as a kid, listening to your parents music do you :)

  • @nikolasmaes99 no lol. i didnt like roxy music much as a kid either, but now i love them !.

  • @Bethfromwigan same :) it's like a voice you learn to appreciate when you're older

  • Sounds like Tom Jones.

  • @ramimarkusmaunula or talking heads

  • I like the twisted harmonies.

  • The breakdown is fucking awesome.

  • One of the coolest sounds.......ever.

  • one of the few great songs where the bass was the lead, but the song wasnt disco.

  • True, but it still reminds me of disco. Thanks for the comment tommieparch.

  • @tommieparch Heart of the Sunrise?

  • its a sad day when people keep referencing this classic to a lame film rather then knowing it as Roxy Music........

  • BUT some of them like it enough to follow up and find the song here on the Tube! That makes it a glad day.....Thanks for stopping graveindustries.

  • @graveindustries What lame film was it in ?

  • I have allways thought he was GAY.

    But im not sure.

    Acts like a fag .

  • @VIKINGxDNA Bryan Ferry tore up a lot of split-tail in his day and continues to sweep girls off their feet. His current girlfriend is more than half his age.

  • @VIKINGxDNA - No, he is heterosexual. You children nowadays are more repressed and scared of your own shadows than people were then and before and it is strange since the people before you protested and fought so you could OVERCOME that mindset. You have an astonishing awakening if you should choose to leave the confines of your room.

  • @VIKINGxDNA Guys who act gay always get mad pussy. Stop being insecure with your sexuality.

  • was this 1975?

  • Yes it was. Thanks for stopping by deadman8380.

  • im 7 and i love this shit not like dumb shit like gaga and justin bieber thumbs up if u agree
